“Flight 221 had departed.”
I was sitting in the waiting area, my neck almost hurting from stretching my neck too much. One hour has passed and I am still waiting for Eion, hoping he will arrive. His flight probably got delayed, right?
Or maybe, he couldn’t come after all?
I had been anxiously calling for him a lot of times now and I couldn’t even contact Eion.
Gosh, where the hell is that robot?
I really miss him, it has been a long time now.
I sighed. This was not the one I imagined today. I had waited for months for this to arrive, there is no way I won’t get to see Eion.
Disappointed at everything right now, I stood up and sighed, finally wanting to go home.
Looks like he lied to me after all.
Driving myself home, I headed straight to our living room when I heard my mom laughing with someone.
I blinked at that, hearing a somewhat familiar voice. Running towards the kitchen, I almost gaped at what I saw.
There was mom, laughing along with my boyfriend, Eion.
Mom was wearing her casual clothes and an apron while Eion was wearing a brown hoodie, still looking devilishly handsome with his emerald eyes and jet black hair.
They were having some tea while talking with each other when they noticed me. Both of them stopped and turned around to face me.
Silence passed for a few moments until Eion stood up and smiled at me.
“Hey, missed me?” His deep asked, opening his arms wide for me to embrace, “Where’s my hug?”
Approaching him, I immediately wrapped my arms around him, inhaling his scent. He still smells the same. Strong and masculine perfume. Mom cleared her throat beside us, signaling that she was still in the room.
I broke my hug with Eion and glared at my mom, “Mom! You didn’t tell me Eion was already here! I waited for him at the airport!”
Mom raised her hands up in surrender, “I was going to call you, but Eion stopped me.”
Sighing, I turned to Eion for that, glaring at him. “What about you? Why didn’t you tell me?”
Eion rubbed the back of his neck nervously, “Sorry about that babe. I lied about my arrival time so that I could surprise you.” He just smiled at me, “Guess we planned to surprise each other.”
“The both of you really look good together. I can see Eion smiling a lot compared to last year…”
Mom couldn’t help but speak up, staring at us happily, mumbling some “young love” words to herself, and stood up as well, “Okay, I’ll leave you two alone now. Go have a date or something, it has been months since you last saw each other physically.”
“Thank you again, Aunt Evy,” Eion said and with that mom just waved goodbye to us.
As soon as mom disappeared out of our sight, Eion leaned in and planted a soft kiss on my lips, “I’ve kept my promise, babe.”
I furrowed my eyebrows at that, “Promise?”
“Yeah, haven’t you forgotten what I said last time from your father’s grave?”
He asked and I shook my head no.
“I promised that I’ll kiss you on the lips when I return. Consider it our third time.” He said, smiling at me. And, as if thinking deeply, he blurted out, “I wonder when our sexy time will be, my dear Snow.”
I pinched him on the cheek, “Psh, I still don’t forgive you for having me wait at the airport for an hour, that sexy time that you want won’t happen soon, Eion.”
Just then, a loud little voice boomed from the door, and a little furball came to hug Eion’s legs as he couldn’t reach him, “Eionny!”
Eion decided to pause our conversation and kneeled down to hug Nathan, “Hello, Nathan. Did you just get home from school?”
Nathan beamed at him happily asking, “Yes! When did you come back? I want to play again!”
“Just earlier,” my boyfriend replied. Just then, as if remembering something, he snapped his fingers, “Oh, I almost forgot. I have a surprise for you.”
Nathan gasped at that, his eyes widening in excitement before jumping happily, “Yey! Where is it? What is it?”
I raised my eyebrows at Eion, not wanting him to make my brother hope for nothing. He made my brother excited already so he shouldn’t just disappoint him.
Eion just mouthed a “trust me” to me before chuckling at my little brother’s reaction, “I know you’re excited but I’ll give it once you answer my question.”
Nathan nodded at that, eager to answer now.
“Did you do what I asked you?” He asked.
Nathan nodded vigorously, “Uhuh! I made sure to drive away those men who approach my sister! I even called them to warn them! Now where’s my surprise?”
I blinked at Eion, “You made my brother promise that?”
Gosh, what did Eiok just make my cute little brother do? I didn’t expect this!
Ooh, so that explains why one of my teammates from college was scared to visit me here?
My brother really looks up to him ever since he met him. I couldn’t blame him though. He lacked a father figure since dad died, he needs someone to guide him.
But Eion is a bad choice for this position. Who knows what would happen if I leave them alone now?
I just facepalmed myself, shaking my head at the thought of Eion teaching my brother some stupid things. To think I protected him so much last time…
Eion shrugged at me, “What? I couldn’t see who’s going to hang out with you. I want to know their names. And that Joshua really bugs me.” He said, glaring at the thought. “Stop hanging out with him, Snow.”
Oh, how did he know my partner? I glanced at Nathan who adorably gave me a peace sign. I figured Nathan must have also told him about that, “Sorry Snowwy! It was my duty!”
I sighed at that, “He’s one of my partners in a project, Eion. How could I avoid him?” I informed him.
Eion scoffed at that, “Then ask your professor to switch partners with a girl.”
I shook my head, “I couldn’t do that.”
Gosh, who knew this possessive Eion is irritating. I somehow found it sweet last time, but this is just too much.
“You couldn’t do it? You don’t want to do it? Then I’ll talk to your professor.” He finally decided and asked for my professor’s contact email.
I turned away from him, crossing my arms in front of me, and pouted, “Psh, for all I know, you have your own girl there. You’re not even video calling me anymore. Plus, why does my brother get to have a surprise while your own girlfriend doesn’t have one?”
I could see Nathan looked at the both of us with a sad look and he came over to tug on my shirt, catching my attention. “I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Please don’t fight. You should make up and hug each other.”
I gulped, biting my lip and looking at Eion who caught my gaze.
“Your brother has a point. Good thing you’re there Nathan. You did a good job protecting your sister from bad guys. Get your surprise now. It’s in my car.” He said to Nathan and Nathan smiled at that.
“Yey! Thank you Eionny! You’re the best big brother ever!”
And with that, my little brother came sprinting down the hallways and slammed the door open to get outside where Eion’s car is.
Silence passed, now that we’re alone, I turned away from Eion, still pouting.
I heard Eion’s footsteps as he approached me behind, and reached out to hug me from the back. He leaned in and started to kiss my neck. I could feel his warmth against my body as his breath tickled my ears.
“We shouldn’t fight, for now, babe. I just got back, let’s not waste our time with stupid things.” He started to speak up. And I apologize if I made you think that way. I don’t have a new girl, it’s only you, Snow. Can you forgive me?”
When I didn’t speak up, he held my chin and made me turn to him, now pecking on my lips “Babe?”
I would be embarrassed if mom caught us in this position now, but I want him to continue.
Gosh, I must have probably missed him so much that I’m letting him do this to me in my own house…
Stop yourself, Snow.
When I finally made some sense in myself, I cleared my throat and asked him. “Fine, I forgive you. Then where’s my surprise?”
His lips turned into a smirk, “Awe, does my girlfriend want a surprise too?”
I nodded in reply, not ashamed of it. “Yes.”
“Good.” He said, standing up straight now. As if it wasn’t enough, he looks taller now. Looks like he is still growing up. He’s probably 6’0 now.
“Get prepared now. I’ve reserved a restaurant. Now that we have time, let’s make the most of it.” He added
I nodded at that, “You have a point.” And with that, I was about to go to mom when Eion stopped me.
“I already asked for your mom’s permission and she already agreed, saying I could borrow you the whole day and she even added that I could return you next week.”
I blinked at that, “Gosh, really? She said that?” I just shook my head, now running upstairs to get myself ready.
I decided to go with a navy blue dress since I think it would be a formal dinner later. I put on light makeup as usual but I curled my hair and put on my perfume.
“Shall we go now?” Asked Eion, somehow now wearing a suit. He looks handsome with that on. Really, it suits him. But I couldn’t help but notice how he scratched his arms a bit, feeling a bit uncomfortable with his suit. I can see that he’s making an effort to make this night special.
And I’m thankful for him with that.
It feels like we’re going to prom with the way we’re dressed right now.
He looked at me up and down before blurting out, “You really look beautiful, babe.”
Gosh, whenever he calls me babe, it feels so heartwarming. I feel my heart fluttering. It’s almost that I forgot the way he calls me stupid the first time I met him.
“But you always call me stupid last time,” I said, bringing it up now.
He scrunched his nose in disgust at that, “Just forget that old version of me. I was the stupid one.”
I just chuckled at that. Holding out his hands to offer to escort me, he said. “We’ll have a long day ahead, Leize Snow Garcia Waterstrings-Hudson.”
“We’re still not married, Eion Aurelio Hudson,” I interjected, informing him.
He sighed, “Just let a man dream, babe, who knows? Maybe we’ll get married soon enough.”
I just chuckled at his attempt of making a joke but feeling a bit nervous that he’s half meaning it to happen.
