SNOW’S POV
“Where are you taking a vacation, Snow?” Asked Emma.
“Sshh, Emma. For all we know, she’s going to be with her hubby since it has been a while.” Teased Hannah and I just shook my head at them.
Me, Emma, and Hannah decided to chill at Eion’s ice cream shop. Fortunately, the shop is still open, with Mr. Tim acting as the manager for now as Eion was away.
We were just chilling here as we had finally finished our exams. Our winter break is going to come soon.
I took a sip at my strawberry ice cream, smiling at the memory of my boyfriend, Eion. Gosh, it feels weird to call him that way.
Anyways, I guess this flavor is not that bad after all…
Recalling the past, I remembered how Eion first entered the shop, how I chased him just to give him his change. He was so rude that I never planned on having any more business with him. But look at me now, thinking of him and missing him…
Let me recall the things that happened after that visit from my dad’s grave.
Despite Eion forcing me to come with him to Yale University last time, I ended up being true to my words and stayed here in Springfield. I don’t want to be away from mom. I mean, sure, my university is 2 kilometers away and I’m in dorms but once a month, I made sure to visit mom and Nathan.
It’s a good thing that Eion had accepted my decision easily because If he had pushed me more, I think I would have probably given in to him.
I couldn’t help but pat myself in the back.
Good job for that, Snow.
“Anyways, how have you been with your boyfriend, Snow?” Asked Emma, raising her eyebrows as she spooned herself some of her mint chocolate chip ice cream. She squealed at the taste, her eyes twinkling in happiness as she gushed at how delicious it was. “Really, this is the best ice cream store in the world!” She exclaimed like a five-year-old kid.
I just laughed at her reaction. “We’re good, Emma,” I answered, and Hannah gave me a look from beside me.
The moment the squad learned that Eion and I were finally in a relationship, and to think that we’re somehow engaged, they had been teasing me nonstop.
Well, I want to call Eion my fiance but I feel like that proposal last time was just on the spur of the moment. Plus, I’m still not used to it so I’ll just call him my boyfriend for now.
I really thought Hannah would still be against it but after seeing her brother, Luke happy with Ember, she finally sighed in relief knowing that Ember wasn’t there to steal her Leroy away.
Anyways, all of us couldn’t hang out with each other that much since each of us had different courses.
Surprisingly, Leroy and Dax decided to stick together and decided to take medicine, which is very unexpected for those two idiots. I really thought they wouldn’t get serious with life considering how playful they are.
But oh well, I wish them good luck.
“Good to know. You know, Leroy has been very distant to me these days!” Hannah exclaimed, and Emma nodded too, agreeing to her. I sighed. Same old news.
Leroy and Dax had been so busy that Emma and Hannah always come and complain to me about their boyfriends.
And for Emma, she took a communication and Journalism course while Hannah chose Computer and Information Sciences.
Luke on the other hand took visual and performing arts.
Well, for me, I took a psychology course since I love observing the behavior of people and their surroundings.
So technically, all of us are busy chasing our dreams.
However, something has been bothering me….
These past few days, Eion has been very weird. He didn’t have the time to video chat with me anymore since he took business management and he had exams too. He said he had to take this course as he needs to manage the ice cream shop soon and also their resort in the Philippines.
I mean, I’m not that hungry for attention but if only he could call me once in a while, I just need to hear his voice.
What would I do if he found a more interesting girl there and decided to cheat on me? Just thinking about it breaks my heart.
I have to be strong. I’m not a possessive girlfriend, I should let Eion do his thing. I chanted to myself.
Just then, a beautiful woman in a beautiful red dress entered the shop. She had sunglasses on and she looked so expensive. Her brunette hair was shiny and so silky that reached her waist. Walking faster, she went towards our table.
“Excuse me, girls, I need help.” She spoke up. “I’m currently hiding from my husband, so if a handsome tall man in a suit comes in here, please drive him away.” She said quickly, smiling at us.
I glanced at Emma and Hannah and they just nodded.
“Good, thank you so much.” And with that, she went to the bathroom, but whispered into our ear, “It’s just…it’s our anniversary yesterday and he forgot. You can call me Hira by the way.”
Just in time, the tall man in a suit that the lady just described entered the shop. His strong features made him attractive, with his clean and polished look. He has black hair and hazel eyes. Overall, he looked like he’s in his thirties. The man looked around, looking for her.
He looks like those handsome spies in the movies. I don’t know if he just had that vibe.
Emma stood up to greet him, “Good morning sir. Do you need anything from this shop?” She asked, winking at us.
Hannah just shrugged at me and joined her.
I stood up to hear what they were talking as the man sighed, “I really plan on surprising her, to think it was our anniversary.” He then looked around again, “I think I saw her entering here…”
With that, we froze. Taking a moment away from the handsome stranger in a suit, the three of us talked with each other.
“What? Should we tell him that his wife is hiding in the restroom?” Hannah asked.
Emma hit her arm lightly, “Of course not! Didn’t you just forget what she asked us?”
I thought for a moment before speaking, “Well, he’s surprising her anyway. I’m sure she’ll forgive us.”
Agreeing that we’ll tell him where his wife, we faced him.
“What’s your name, sir?” Emma asked and I pinched her arm lightly to signal her. “Hey, he’s married.”
She rolled her eyes at me, groaning in pain, “I know, he’s handsome but I’m not flirting okay!”
The handsome stranger just chuckled at us, “Sorry ladies, I already have a wife. Plus, I’m not into college girls.”
Emma acted hurt, clutching her chest in pain, “Ouch.”
Hannah faced him to answer him, “Anyways, your wife is in the restroom.”
With that, the handsome man nodded and he hurriedly walked towards the restroom where his wife was, “Thank you.” He said to us and we just smiled at him, giving him a thumbs up.
We went back to sit at our table.
“Ah, love really is magical. To think she was running away from him, angry that he forgot their anniversary when in reality, he was preparing something big for her.” Emma said dreamily before scrunching her nose in annoyance, “How I wish Dax would do the same to me instead of digging his nose in books day and night.”
Hannah patted her on the shoulder, “Let’s just understand them. They are studying hard for their future and to support us.”
“What about you Snow?” I rarely hear you complain about your boyfriend. To think you two just recently became together and are in a long-distance relationship.” Emma asked me, and I shrugged in answer.
“Well, I trust Eion.” That was all I could reply to them.
Oh wait, speaking of him, I have to go and meet him at the airport. I’ll be surprising him. Glancing at my wristwatch and seeing I’m just on time, I stood up and grabbed my bag. “I gotta go now,” I said to the two of them.
Emma rolled her eyes at me, realizing what I’m going to do. “Yeah yeah, go to your strawberry addict robot now and leave your bitter and lonely friends.”
I chuckled at her dramatic speech. Hannah bid me goodbyes, “Go get your man, Snow.” She winked, and leaving the shop, I used the motorbike that Eion gave me last time.
It’s time.
