I gasped in surprise at that. Wow, I like this kid.
He pointed at Mario. “Narinig ko po ksi yan kay Kuya Mario dati sa mga babae.” (I heard that from Kuya Mario in the past to the girls.)
Mario’s face flushed in embarrassment and the kids laughed. “Alright, stop na yan! It’s embarrassing! Mam Snow that’s not true po!”
I wiggled my eyebrows at him playfully. “Oh, I see.”
As the children continued laughing at Mario’s face, I noticed one girl behind Mario’s legs, hiding shyly at me. She didn’t introduce herself yet. “Mario? What about that kid?”
Mario looked down and saw the girl. He smiled gently at her and said, “It’s Jenny maam Snow. She’s really shy to people.”
“Oh.. okay.” I cleared my throat and kneeled on the ground and came closer to the little girl. “Hi! What’s your name? I’m Ate Snow. I don’t bite.” I introduced it again.
Her eyes widened and motioned for Mario to come closer. Mario kneeled to her and she said something to Mario. Mario laughed at what she said.
“What is it?” I asked.
“She thought that you were a mermaid,” Mario responds to me.
I laughed at that. Mermaid? Whoa, that’s a new thing.
“Why thank you, little girl.” Bless this girl. Then I chose to act it out. I leaned to her ear and whispered, ” It’s a secret. Keep it a secret for me okay?”
She nodded her head, yes and I raised my hand, “pinky promise?”
She copied me and said “Secret!”
And ladies and gentlemen, that’s how I formed a new strong bond with a kid. We started playing volleyball and this thing called “patintero” is an all-time game for Filipino children. We stopped to take a break after an hour or so.
“So about Eion…” I started.
“Oh gosh, Maam, not again.” He sighed. “It’s a surprise I’m still alive now. Except, haunted by Eion.”
“So… as I have said, we grew up together. His mom… Aling Lena, lives here. I don’t know but maybe that’s how she met uncle Adam Hudson, He was building this resort at that time, then they married, then they had Eion. ”
“Then Aling Lena got sick, they don’t have any money now since Uncle Adam spent everything to this resort, and that ice cream shop was not that successful.
So he had to sell that shop for her to be treated, but she died. She really loved that shop… but Uncle Adam had to. And now, they are rich. So now, yeah…”

It is now the last day, and we went on what’s popular here, the vanishing island. Many many visited this since it’s so rare and we rode this boat thing. I couldn’t even process everything, seeing all the amazing views.
Gosh, I feel like wanting to come back here someday. At eleven in the morning, we came there because that was the only time it appeared. We took a lot of pictures there and came back to the resort. I stopped taking pictures when it was in full storage, I have to delete a few.
When I was scrolling through, I saw Eion’s face. It was a selfie of him, frowning at the camera. I remembered it was the time when I forced him to take pictures of me.
Wait… out of all the blurry pictures he took, this one, this picture of him was the clear one…
Psh, I was about to press delete when something came to me. Aha! So he just gave me a chance to spread this.
Speaking of him, everyone, except Eion, was here. Until now he is not here. Guess I’ll make fun of him next time. Or it seems like he was avoiding me…
We were chilling by the beach. Singing songs, dancing, and drinking.
“Snow, let’s talk, just the two of us please.” Luke requested. “I feel like we never have an alone moment here.”
I nodded, feeling a bit nervous at Luke. What is he saying now? and we walked on the seashore.
“I feel sad, you know.” He started, as he reached out and grabbed my hand. His hands were warm.
I faced him, “Why?”
“I had expected for the two of us…. to hang out all the time.” He started pouting at me. “And when I look for you, you always disappear from somewhere.” He said.
Oh… is that what he was feeling? Gosh, now I feel guilty. He’s my boyfriend for goodness sake! “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know you were feeling that. I’ll make it up to you then…”
Then I remembered it, “Oh wait, we don’t have time left here anymore. Our flight will be tomorrow right?”
He nodded, and I cursed under my breath. Gosh, why am I so stupid? I’m the worst girlfriend in the world. Really.
Luke just sighed and looked at the ground. Tiptoeing my feet and reaching out to him, I embraced him into a hug. “I’m really sorry, babe.”
He broke the hug and looked at me, “Apologizing to me and calling me babe is not enough, I want more,” He exclaimed. I nodded, “Yes, what do you want then?”
He pointed at his lips and said, “I want a kiss. To my lips.”
Sighing, I nodded. I knew he would say this. I rolled my eyes at him and instantly kissed him in his lips. That froze him, and his eyes were wide.
And when he recovered, he smiled against our kiss and pulled me in for more. We stayed like that after a while, his hands roaming in my body, and the taste of his lips was sweet. His strong but sweet perfume came to me, his mouth sucking in my breath.
I softly pushed him away, catching my breath. There was a grin plastered on his face, biting his lips. “That was…. amazing,” he said, chuckling. “Now you’re forgiven.”
And with that, I shake my head, laughing along with him. We continued on walking by the seashore as the night turned cold, and even the stars above us offered a dim light.
Luke then paused to give me his jacket, sensing my slight shivering.
I couldn’t help but glance at Luke. He has been very sweet and gentlemanly to me, ever since we met, from him courting me, and now that we’re together, it all felt like a dream.
The way he treated me didn’t change. He has always been there for me since day one. I can’t help but smile at the thought, feeling the romantic air for tonight.
I breathed in deeply, hearing the sound of waves crashing into each other. I really should have thought of him more. Now I regret messing around these past few days. I should have done better….
Anyways, it’s too late now, we’ll be back home tomorrow anyway.
“You know Snow, I forgot to tell you something.” He spoke up.
I faced him, “What is it?” I hope it’s nothing serious…
Rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment, he continued, “Our flight is… extended for a day.”
I paused from walking, now completely facing him, “Wait what?” I blinked. “So you mean, we’re not going to go home tomorrow?
He nodded, “Yes, isn’t that what you want?”
Well, he had a point. In fact, I honestly want to stay here longer, but that’s not possible. “Well, I don’t have clothes anymore…”
I responded, now thinking about it. Since they came to my house before this trip, I wasn’t able to prepare a lot of clothes that much….
“Oh, is that what’s bothering you?” Luke asked. “Don’t worry about it, I feel like my sister brought a lot of clothes. “I’ll just ask her to lend you some.”
He offered, before adding again with a playful smirk on his lips, “if you want… I can lend you my own clothes, which is the better suggestion. I don’t mind.”
I just lightly smack him in his arms, sighing at all his fantasies. I don’t even want to know what’s going on in his mind.
Surely, those would be all perverted.
