I Like you, Eion

“Ouch!” A girl sprained her foot when we were in our PE class. Alas, it was still that leader girl.
Ms. Moore called Eion since he was the only guy who was left here. Other guys were getting the table for table tennis.
“Carry her to the clinic. Here’s the clinic pass.” Ms. Moore said to him. She turned to us and whistled to get everyone’s attention out.
I ignored Ma. Moore’s signal and just watched as Eion came and actually helped her. “Can you stand?”
“I-I can’t.” She stuttered.
“Wait a second.” Eion paused, then sat on the floor and pointed to his back. “Here.”
He’s giving her a piggyback ride?
She scrunched in disgust, hating the idea. “Ouch ouch ouch ouch. I can’t move… Eion.”
Eion looked at her and sighed. “Fine.” He lifted her up easily bridal style, not even grunting in difficulty for that girl’s heavy ass as his hand supported her back and thighs.
I looked at the girl, she was really acting as though she was hurt, I could give her Oscar’s Award for that but that acting is not enough, she needs a lot more training to fool my eyes.
She’s just being so dramatic. When in fact, she just went to the stairs and tripped on her way. Her trip was even so light, I believe a child-like Nathan could even survive it and can still run around, not like her as though her feet were cut off and can’t stand up.
Trust me, I’m the witness.
Really, this girl doesn’t need to go to the clinic. She needs to go straight to the mental hospital for her brain to be checked, just to make sure she didn’t lose her brain being so stupid.
So that’s what she wants. Eion carrying her bridal style, yehey, such a beautiful fairy tale with prince charming saving the princess. But in this case, that girl is the beast, the evil witch.
Eion stood up and left the gym, with the girl dramatically laying in her hands.
But on the way out, I can’t miss that girl’s smirk.
****
It’s been days. And I’ve been irking. My hands have been missing to punch it to someone.
“Can I borrow your pen?” There goes that girl again, still clinging to Eion ever since that incident from our pe class.
“But you’re always borrowing from me. I’ll run out of pen.” Eion interjected. Strangely, I feel proud. That’s right Eion, show her! Show her what I taught!
Then he sighed. “You can have that.”
My eyes widened. What?
I can’t stand it anymore. Days of watching her flirting with him…
Standing up, I went to them and opened her bag. I think I saw a lot of pens here earlier. And I was right. I hold the pens up, “Then what is this?” I showed it to Eion.
I watched Eion’s face, waiting for his reaction. But his expression stayed neutral, staring at me. He had this strange emotion in his eyes. Maybe he knows already?
The girl gasped in shock then chuckled nervously, glancing at Eion. “Wow, I’ve been looking for it. Thanks, Snow!” she smiled at me fakely and quickly snatched her pens away from my grasp.
I snorted as if that could change what happened. He already knows a girl. Don’t need to hide it.
I looked at Eion again. See? Can’t you see her true form?
He blinked. “But you opened her bag without permission, Snow. That’s rude. What’s wrong with you?” He asked, his face looking irritated. Irritated to me, not to the girl.
I gasped. So now it’s my fault? He’s defending her? The girl smirked in victory at me.
“Eion…” I trailed off. I’m the one who’s right here, why won’t you defend me?
He just crossed his arms in front of him and looked at the window beside him, brushing me off.
The girl looked at me in fake pity. She waved at me, “Bye-bye.”
I gritted my teeth, standing up and leaving. As my next class was with Hannah and Emma, the two of them motioned for me to come.
“So what’s up?” I asked, still off from the incident with Eion and that girl.
“I think the three of us should talk.”
Oh.. in all these weeks I only talk to them about something like “Can I see your homework,” or “What time is it,” but never about the one about us.
My face broke into an evil smile. “Finally you two woke up!” I reached out to pinch their ears.
“What’s that for?” Emma glared at me.
I turn to Emma. “This is for being so secretive.” I turned to Hannah, “and this for being easy to get and being ordered around by Leroy.”
“Then what should we do then?” Hannah sighed.
“Number one. Don’t immediately answer the boys! That’s our law, right?” I glared at Hannah.
“Wow, you only made the up now,” Hannah commented.
“Oh shut up.” I glare at her. Then my face softened, “For days you were crying, hurting yourself, and mumbling. I hate him but look at you now? You should have let him chase you for a month or so not to get easily. Besides, there’s a lot of guys out there, many fishes in a pond.”
“I didn’t chase him and was easy to get. That day I vanished, Leroy was apologizing to me. He followed me even though he didn’t know what he had done. He cares!” She defended.
I rolled my eyes, “In short, insensitive jerk.”
She snorted, crossing her arms in front of her. “Well, I’m not like you who have a dozen guys trailing behind her.”
“Don’t turn the tables!” I pointed at her menacingly. Then I turned to Emma who was chuckling beside us as she watched the scene. She stopped and looked nervous just looking at my scary expression.
“And you, the last thing that you could do is tell me! I mean I was expecting it to happen, but I wasn’t there to support you all the way!”
“I was planning to.. but then I see you so busy with a lot of boys and stuff that I just kept shut.” She shrugged her shoulders.
“What about me?” Hannah piped in, looking at her, also hurt.
“You were so heartbroken at that time that I just stopped. I feel bad because you were so sad while here I am being so happy. I feel so selfish.”
I stopped to comprehend things. Now that I think about it, the two of them are right. Lately, everyone seems so right. I’m always the wrong one. I sighed. “Fine. It was also my fault. I was so self-centered and selfish.”
“Aren’t you happy that we’re happy?” Emma asked.
I sighed, “Well yes but..” I trailed off.
“But what?”
“Besides, just because those boys are my friends, doesn’t mean I root for them! I don’t want you two to get hurt!” I exclaimed.
“Awe, stop it, you guys! I feel like crying.” Hannah fake sobbed. We broke into fits of laughter. Now, we are fixed.
“The teacher’s here,” Emma said hurriedly as our teacher really came in.
We just kept quiet. And now, I feel like I could breathe.
Later that day, I was walking towards Luke’s class as it was dismissal time now and I heard a girl’s voice from the empty hallway.
“I like you, Eion.”
I stopped when I realized what I just heard. No… it can’t be… is it a confession?
