MOON STONE FORTRESS
ONE MONTH LATER
Jaylen tried to hold his knee down to stop his foot from tapping on the floor continuously. Lorelei intertwined her hand with his, mouthing words of encouragement to him. This was the second time since three months ago when he got introduced to the entire Fortress as their chosen Alpha. He was back here now to address them after finally being installed as the Moon Stone Fortress Alpha.
His address speech was coming up soon and for the first time in his entire life he was really nervous, not because of the number of people in front of him but the thought of him walking in his father’s shoes eventually. The past few weeks had been a rollercoaster of emotions coupled with whole family still mourning the death of Juno.
Jayden eventually got discharged from the infirmary about a week ago after undergoing so much tests and infusions to keep him alive. However, he insisted on leaving the Fortress to one of the states in which their father’s company was located. Even though everyone was against it, Jayden remained adamant and he insisted that was his only way of ever being able to live without feeling ashamed every passing day. Eventually everyone had to agree that he was saying the right thing.
Jaylen and Lorelei were eventually back together and it was blissful. The both of them had gotten married on low key to avoid putting Jayden in a thinking mood and both got installed as the Alpha and Luna of Moon Stone Fortress.
The Fortress couldn’t wait any longer and they needed to ascertain that they still have a reigning Alpha after three long months of the demise of the old Alpha. After the formal talk by Sebastian, Jaylen was eventually called to the stage.
Jaylen stood up and went to the podium after getting an encouraging pat from Lorelei. Jaylen cleared his throat before he began to address them. Everyone stared at him with their full attention.
“I really can’t thank you all enough for your extreme patience and love that you have had for myself and my family. I know we have caused you all a number of troubles and worries. It was never our intention, but life does have ways in which it tosses us the way it wishes. And I am sorry we got to be its tool. For whatever disorder we must have cause again, I am deeply sorry. And I want to promise you all that this new dispensation will be just as peaceful and more prosperous than the past years. I would ensure there is just about enough platform to be able to voice out your discomforts and we would sort it out. Thank you so much for believing in my father’s legacy and trusting me enough to rule everyone of you. I am grateful. Thank you once again.” Jaylen said with his unsteady breath finally relaxing.
A loud thundering round of applause followed him back to the seat. “You did really well.” Lorelei commended.

AT THE PACK HOUSE
“Why do I feel like you were almost out of breath while you stood on the podium?” Rex taunted Jaylen as they sat in the large living room after the whole pack had dispersed from the auditorium and they all moved to the pack house.
He had Claire seated on his laps and she was clinging to his neck. The both of them have become quite expressive with their feelings towards each other. Even though most times, Jaylen wished to have his head off but Claire was happy and that was undoing.
“I could really have your head bouncing off with this glass cup if you don’t keep mute.” Jaylen threatened.
“No one told me we now have a violent Alpha with anger issues.” Rosalyn interjected.
Jaylen snorted as he tilted his head towards Sebastian who had his hands intertwined with Rosalyn’s hand. “I see you are being boastful because of him right? Don’t make me come for you right now.”
Sebastian laughed loudly. “You are an Alpha now, Jaylen. Watch what you say.”
Jaylen shrugged. “I won’t stop. You should be thankful to me instead.”
Sebastian raised his eyebrows. “Why?”
“I can’t believe I brought Rosalyn here to become your woman. I should ship you back to Chicago this minute. I am worried about never getting my personal assistant back.”
Rosalyn tongued out at him which caused everyone to burst into laughter. “You should be thankful Adriel is holding up for you.” She teased.
Jaylen made a dramatic face at Adriel who was having a good laugh. “Thank you so much for standing by me. Rosalyn obviously cares nothing about me anymore now that she has a man.”
Adriel nodded. “I got you, Alpha.”
He and Rosalyn had already kept Adriel in the know of what is expected of her at the company. Jaylen had made calls to the board members to show her the ropes while himself and Rosalyn would keep tabs as time goes on.
Meagan stepped down the stairs glowing with her cheeks coloring at the sight of everyone of them dissing one another. As much as it’s not all better at the moment, she felt happy that Carl’s wish had eventually come true. And even though it’s painful the way the results came forth, Jayden had learnt his lesson in the most hardest way. He was still feeling guilty and he also knew the death of Juno would haunt his whole life .
Meagan was finally going to begin a new life with her family and she was also moving in with Gabriella for the main time.
“Do you really have to go mom?” Claire cooed as got off Rex’s laps and rushed to hug her mother.
Gabriella snickered. “She deserves some rest from the whole drama. I am sure you do know that.”
Meagan pulled at Claire’s cheeks. “You do know, you can always come around when you want to so stop whining already.”
Jaylen stood up to also hug his mother. “I love you mom. I am glad you seem better than the past weeks. It shows you took your rest well and please take care of yourself in Chicago and have as much fun as you want. We would expect you to pay us visits whenever you want to.” He kissed her on the forehead.
Jaylen moved on to both of his grandmothers and hugged them tightly. “Thank you both for standing by her till the very end. I don’t know how she would have endured everything without you both. I love you grandmas.”
Mrs Swift ruffled his hair. “We love you too honey.”
Gabriella pushed him aside instead. “Don’t try to smooch me young man.”
“Are you allergic to emotional moments?” Jaylen teased her.
“How are you just realizing that?” Gabriella threw back at him with a sneer.
Jaylen laughed loudly. His mom, both grandmothers and Adriel were returning to Chicago. He felt a bit nostalgic but seeing Rosalyn who had agreed to Sebastian proposal, Lorelei, Claire and Rex made his mind feel settled knowing he isn’t exactly alone.
Just as they were about stepping out to see the travelers off. Lorelei motioned for a hold.
“I have something to say to you all.” Lorelei said as she grinned from ear to ear.
“It would be nice if you said it now.” Sebastian said.
“I am pregnant.” Lorelei announced she stared at their faces to watch their reactions.
“Are you serious?!” Jaylen chuckled.
“Of course.” Lorelei smiled.
Jaylen did a funny sort of dance before lifting her off the air. “This is the best news I have heard this year. Thank you so much baby!”
Everyone fussed over her and they threw congratulations at the soon to be parents.
