EPISODE HUNDRED AND TWENTY THREE
THEME: Jaylen’s Decision
MOON STONE GROUP, CHICAGO.
Jaylen sighed as he stared distractedly at the laptop in front of him. The weekend had gone in a haze as he was practically drifting in and out of consciousness. It was more surprising when he found Adriel with him instead of Rosalyn. Trying to figure out if she must have been the one to open up his door, however, Adriel had said Rosalyn let her in and she had some urgent matters to attend to and had assigned her to look after him instead.
There was no need telling what Adriel was trying to do and he had no one else to blame than Rosalyn. She had been doing all she could to hook him up with anyone her hands could grab. It’s not like being with Adriel is an actual bad thing, but he wanted nothing to do with putting his heart on the line.
Everyday Lorelei’s scent still lingers in his nostrils and he wakes up hoping to see her face. But the hurt he feels from her refusal to come to Chicago with him made him doubt the said feelings she had for him in the first place.
He rubbed at his temples gently. Jaylen grabbed the water bottle on the table and uncapped it but out of distraction he ended up pouring it on himself.
“Shit!” Jaylen muttered. Immediately his eyes looked up at the door when it opened up.
Adriel was the last person he was expecting to see, considering the fact that she had only left his house few hours ago before he made his way to work. Now he was beginning to think she was jobless.
“Hey you. How did that happen?” Adriel inquired as she rushed towards him with an attempt to help dry the shirt.
Jaylen stood up in a hurry from the chair. “You really don’t have to worry, Adriel. It is just a minor spill.”
“Still let me help you.” Adriel insisted as the both of them hustled to get the shirt dry.
Everything happened so fast and as if he was hypnotized, the next thing Jaylen knew was his lips locking with Adriel’s. He moaned unintentionally into her mouth. He had never gotten the chance to kiss her before now. She tasted like vanilla ice cream. Jaylen spread his hands on her back as he deepened the kiss when Adriel let out a soft moan.
Jaylen had no idea what he was doing but one thing was certain he definitely didn’t want to stop and it seem like a long time since he got the chance at getting so close with the other gender. It was becoming heated and he was losing track of his control. And when Jaylen made an attempt to stop the kiss, Adriel held him back and urged him to continue.
Jaylen was back to his sense now and wanted to release himself so bad but all of a sudden Adriel got more powerful and he couldn’t pull at her violently. But his escape route came through when the door burst open.
“Oh, I am so sorry.” Rosalyn muttered in a rush as she tried to get the door closed back.
“Rosa!” Jaylen untangled himself from Adriel and nodded towards Rosalyn to come in. ” We…erm…we need to go check on those investors right? I am coming right this minute.”
Rosalyn had a confused look on her face as she mouthed in some words in whisper. “Where the hell are we suppose to head to?”
Not responding to her question, Jaylen grinned a bit too wide at Adriel. “I am so sorry Adriel. I just realized I really have a busy schedule today. You can close the door behind you. We would talk later.” Jayden said. “We should go now, Rosa. I don’t want us to be late for the meetings.” He grabbed his suit and keys in a hurry. Jaylen almost pushed Rosalyn to the ground as he forced her out of the office.
Adriel blushed profusely as she placed a finger on her lips and the tingle made her blush harder. She has finally gotten Jaylen exactly where she wants him.
“Can you tell me what this is all about and where the hell we are headed?” Rosalyn glared at Jaylen as he held the car steering tightly and drove in a hurry out of the company’s car park.
Jaylen didn’t say a word until he got on the street behind the company’s street. Turning off the ignition, Jaylen unbelted himself and turned towards Rosalyn with a big sneer on his face.
“Oh oh, that doesn’t look good.” Rosalyn gulped as she looked away from her boss’s inquiring eyes.
“Now my dear Rosalyn, is there something you would love to explain to me? And you had better not hide anything from me!” Jaylen glared at her.
Rosalyn unbuckled the seat belt and got out of the car in a rush. “Rosa!” Jaylen called out to her as he opened the door too and followed after her. “Don’t you move an inch from there Rosa!” He threatened.
“Fine! What did I do this time?” She huffed.
“You would come back here right now and explain to me why Adriel was the one with me when I passed out and she came around today again. Is there something she knows that I don’t?”
Scratching the back of her neck, Rosalyn pouted as she dragged her feet reluctantly towards him. “I am sorry Jaylen.” She gritted. “Actually, Adriel had been the one who called me to say she couldn’t reach you on Sunday. I rushed over and when I told her not to worry that she could leave, she insisted on staying. And I think I blurted out about you being an Alpha werewolf to her.” She bit on her lower lip very hard.
Jaylen bit hard on his lips too. “You just sold me out, over what?”
Rosalyn blushed cutely. “About three to four shots of tequila.”
“Urghhhh!” Jaylen growled, “I should start keeping things like that away from your hold. You can’t drink to save yourself Rosa.”
“It’s not that bad!” She muttered under her breath.
Jaylen leaned against the car and threw his head back. He felt some beads of sweat form on his forehead while Rosalyn imitated his posture.
“What’s the matter?” Rosalyn asked him with concern laced on her expression.
“I don’t know Rosa. I think I might lose my mind if I keep up like this. As much as I hate how much choice I don’t have, I think it’s time to return home but I really don’t want to go on my own.”
Rosalyn smiled as she pat his arm. “I had been waiting for you to finally come to this decision. Here, I have got something for you.” She headed back to the side of the car, searched her bag, held a paper in her hand and returned to him.
Jaylen looked astonished. “I threw this away, how did you get it?”
“He scribbled the address down for me.” Rosalyn mused as she smiled sheepishly.
“You still haven’t told me what the hell you are up to as regards Rex?”
“Not like you are willing to tell me how you ended up deep throating Adriel.”
Jaylen sighed as he raised his hands in surrender. “You know what? Please forget we ever talked about this.” He huffed
“We are adults after all.” Rosalyn laughed loudly at him.
“Shut up!” He blurted out before bursting into a fit of laughter too.
