EPISODE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO
THEME: Signals
MOON STONE FORTRESS
Ron groaned heavily like he was in pain. “Why in the world do you always turn up in an overtly dramatic manner?”
Hermione blow at her nails, bumping at Lorelei as she sat next to her. “Because I am who I am.”
“Where is Harry? I thought you both were coming together.” Claire said as she stretched her hand out to pick Lorelei’s drink.
“You know you can order yours right?” Lorelei glared.
“I would never understand that young man, we were together a while ago and then poof he had gone off with a girl from high school or what not. Let me have that, my throat appears itchy.” Hermione snatched the drink from Claire and gulped down every single drop in it.
“Sorry Lorelei. Your friends are beasts.” Ron laughed.
“So, who is going to tell me what you all were discussing before I came?” Hermione mumbled.
“Our dear Lorelei here appears to be playing nice with Jayden.” Claire scoffed.
Lorelei tapped on the table. “Come on Claire, don’t sound like a party pooper.”
Hermione sat up straight as she pouted her lips at Lorelei. “Is that true?”
“I just want to be nice to him. Jayden needs our support too and I guess someone has to be there.” Lorelei answered.
Hermione arched her brows. “Errrr, did someone tamper with Lorelei brain box? You are too self conceited to worry about a male version of yourself. Cause I really don’t seem to understand what is going on here!” She bellowed. “You know what happened the last time he saw you and Jaylen together which of course makes his feelings quite clear! So tell me what signal are you passing on to him?”
“I want to believe I know Jayden better than you do, he would take all of this south. And what would you have to tell Jaylen when he returns?” Claire added.
Lorelei rubbed at her forehead. “You both are being bullies right now. And Hermione don’t tag me like that, it is not nice. I would be friends with Jayden and give him a second chance at proving himself to be kind hearted.”
“This is almost looking like a charity work.” Ron muttered under his breath.
“Can the waiter come here please?!” Hermione yelled into the crowd.
A scared looking waiter hurried to their table to take each of their orders. Lorelei got lost in thought in the process. She understood what her friends were trying to say exactly. Jayden wasn’t the actual type to understand what people are trying to do to make things work. He had clearly hated on Jaylen the moment he found out about them dating. Her heart skipped at the thought of Jaylen. As much as she tried to erase the memories they have both created, her heart still yearns for him. Deep down within her, Lorelei knows if Jaylen returned she was going to fall straight back into his arms. And her head ached as she tried to ignore the shivering thoughts nagging at her behind.
“Now, over to you two. Why are you prancing around town like some old dejected couples?” Hermione snared at both Claire and Ron.
Ron snickered. “I had a feeling you would act crazy soon. Just didn’t occur to me that it would be my turn.”
Hermione glared. “Just answer the damn question. Have you both forgotten you are cousins?”
Amusement laced Ron’s eyes immediately. “And I have heard of cousins fucking.”
“Your ears hear the worst of things.” Claire scoffed. “And for your information Hermione, Ron here has been my support system since the whole mess as a cousin should be. And he also made me realize how crazy I am about Rex.”
Lorelei and Hermione exchanged glances while Ron snorted out a laughter.
“I think I am losing my mind here. “Who again is Rex?” Hermione inquired chewing on the fries placed next to her burger.
“How do you even get to remember your name?” Ron jested. “You were at the auditorium weren’t you? And the last time I checked even the fetus in this Great Fortress remembers Tau Upsilon Rex who addressed us all and told us of Jaylen’s identity. You heifer!”
Standing up in a hurry, Hermione made an attempt to pull a fast one at Ron but he was quick to move further away from her causing her to hit her arm against the hard wooden table.
“Fuck!” Hermione cussed angrily as she stared at her wounded arm. “I am going to snuff life out of you, Ron! Just watch and see.” She bickered.
“Calm your nerves. Why are you always so hot headed?” Lorelei inquired. She looked tired.
Hermione pointed at her brother with a feigned bleary eyes. “He does this every time but no one says anything. When I do I am always the bad egg.”
“That’s enough, Hermione. Sorry.” Claire sighed. “Well, probably you haven’t met Rex before but he is a dashing young man.”
Lorelei raised a brow. “And when you mean young…How old is he?”
Claire flashed her lashes. “Thirty…I guess.” She shrugged it off.
Hermione had her mouth agape. “How in the world are you interested in an old man?! Aren’t you just eighteen?!”
“Keep your voice down!” Claire eyed her.
Ron and Lorelei were both laughing their head off at the drama unfolding between the both of them. Hermione kept making snide remarks of how disappointed she was in Claire for picking a man older than her brothers when there were other males in the pack willing to be with her.
“How about Sebastian?” Hermione prompted.
Lorelei shook her head in disagreement. “Nah! Nah. Nah. Nobody should bring my brother into this.”
“Oops! It appears he has been dragged into it already.” Ron laughed loudly.
Claire snorted. “Well he isn’t my type in the first place.”
“Come to think of it. Sebastian seem to be my type and I might as well make a quick move.” Hermione wiggled her brows.
“You don’t say right now! I don’t want none of you crazy girls near my brother!” Lorelei protested.
“Well I am glad to announce to you that we are soon to be in laws.” Hermione pushed further.
They all roared into a synching laughter which caused the people around the restaurant to look towards their direction.
