EPISODE HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN
THEME: The best things for Jaylen
MOON STONE FORTRESS
Gabriella kept the phone back in her pocket. The old lady looked haggard as she stared at Meagan’s lone figure on the bed with a detached Jayden by the door way. Claire laid next to her mother with a sad expression on her face. Gabriella hated how gloomy everyone appeared.
Gabriel was surprised Jayden had answered to her call the moment he received it. Meagan had been distant in both body and soul for the past two weeks and she hasn’t been eating and sleeping well. It was no surprise she was found looking lifeless on the bathroom floor.
A maid had found her and called out to the Theta at the infirmary. Hazel had arrived in no time to check on her. Meagan was diagnosed to be dehydrated and needed as much water as she could get to keep her healthy.
“I am worried about her.” Hazel muttered next to Gabriella with her eyes glued to Meagan.
“Me too Hazel. If she keeps going at this rate, I don’t know what might happen to her.” Gabriella mumbled.
“Have you gotten in touch with Jaylen?” Hazel asked.
Gabriella snickered. “Jaylen? He is as stubborn as a mole and just like his father. He hasn’t been responding to my calls. And I am sure he wouldn’t until he decides to himself.”
Hazel shook her head in pity. “This is really sad. Meagan doesn’t deserve all of this.”
“None of us does. But there is nothing to do when the Moon Goddess controls just about everything.” Gabriella noted after heaving a deep sigh.
“When will she be up aunt?” Jayden inquired.
Hazel shrugged. “It shouldn’t take long. She needs enough rest. You might need to come back to see her and you Claire you should take some rest.”
The both of them didn’t seem eager to leave their mother which caused Gabriella and Hazel to exchange glances. Knowing the both of them well, they would have left the room without waiting to be told.
Lorelei walked into the room looking like she had been running as she panted heavily towards her mother. “You called me mom. How is the Luna?”
“She would be fine.” Hazel replied. “Please you should help Claire to her room, she looks like she could do with some rest.”
Nodding to her mother’s request, Lorelei helped Claire up and they both walked out the room. Lorelei met Jayden leaning by the stair railing when she was returning from Claire’s room. Seeing the sober expression on Jayden’s face, she felt guilty all of a sudden for being so rude towards him earlier. It wasn’t in her place to condemn him like that.
When Jayden sensed her presence, he turned his back and walking away. “Jayden!” Lorelei called out to him. “Wait up, Jayden.”
“You don’t have to Lorelei. I hate being looked at pitifully and I see that is what you are trying to do. You are excused.” Jayden said as he kept up with his move.
Jayden had no intention to allow anyone trample over him all in the name of being sorry. He went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water and he gulped down the whole content at once. Returning to his mother’s room, he noticed that she was awake and sitting up. Meagan looked a bit better. The moment he got in every other person stepped out, leaving just him and his mother in the room.
Meagan had no emotions in her eyes and it has been that way for days now. Seeing Jayden only made her feel extra awful. But it was due time they have the conversation that she had been stalling it for too long.
“It’s obvious you want to say something, just say it.” Jayden muttered.
“Jayden, shouldn’t you go find your brother and try to live peacefully? It is just an Alpha position baby. You can control just as much as your brother would. I know if you talk to Jaylen everything would be sorted out. Please Jayden, your father wouldn’t be happy with the situation of things if he were alive. So do this to let your father’s soul rest.” She pleaded.
“Wait a minute.” Jayden scoffed. “Why are you trying to blame me for this? Jaylen rejected the post and clearly told you all that he can’t forfeit his whole life in Chicago for the Alpha position. And here I am with nothing to my name except this and you want to take it away from me. How cruel can you be mom?”
Meagan flinched at his words. “This is exactly my problem with you. Why would you even think your whole life should revolve around just becoming the Alpha? Can’t you see Jayden? Everything is wrong. Nothing seems right anymore. Your father worked too hard for this to be in ruins.”
“Why won’t you fucking trust me?!” Jayden yelled.
“I trust you baby, but this isn’t yours. Please honey just let it go.” Tears was already streaming down her face at this point.
“I hate him! I hate all of this! Jaylen had it all! He was always calm and collected. He practically has a way to turn things around like magic! And everything works out in his favor! I had always had more strength, but he always comes out stronger no matter the condition. How does he even fucking do that? I have wanted the Alpha position since I was ten but he got here in less than two months and he is about to be made the Alpha. I have been unto Lorelei for five years mama, five fucking years! But he had her in less than a month. What the fuck is up with him?! What the hell does he possess that I don’t have too? I am more good looking and brilliant than he is!” Jayden fussed with his breath hitching.
“You got your parents love the most Jayden. But Jaylen had always been left out. We were more biased in how we treated you both. I still feel guilty for those years that I placed you over Jaylen. So Jaylen should be the one this possessive baby, not you. Why won’t you just love your brother right? You don’t need all of this honey. Please.”
“I never asked you to love me differently mama. You should have left me! And I hate that you all led me on when you knew who your man is. I am never going to forgive you for this. And I promise, I will get all that I want and deserve whether any of you likes it or not!” Jayden growled as he wiped the tears that fell on his face off. He stormed out of the room.
“Jayden…” Meagan tried to call out to him, but he was long gone. “Please…Jayden…just this once…let it go.” She mumbled.
Meagan couldn’t control the flood of tears that poured from her eyes as her heart ached badly
