EPISODE EIGHTY ONE
THEME: A wish of this dying wolf
MOON STONE FORTRESS
AT THE PACK HOUSE
Meagan stared at her husband in surprise. “What are you talking about Carl?”
Carl smiled, stretching out to hold her hand to himself. He loved how she had stuck by his side all through his trying moments. To keep Meagan from losing her mind after he is gone, Carl has decided that she needs her own people around her too.
“I want you to invite everyone home. Your parents, Penelope and the rest. Let’s have our own thanksgiving.” He said.
“You are joking?” Meagan whispered as tears laced in her eyes.
“Consider it as the wish of this dying wolf.” He grinned.
“Carl!” Meagan whimpered as she fell into his chest gently.
Julius and Hazel watched as they felt different emotions. Meagan hadn’t seen her family in a long while unless when had take turns to visit when she had just gotten married and birthed the twins. But they all stopped coming when Jaylen got sent out of the pack. None of them was pleased with Meagan, even though they buried the hatchet and spoke on long calls and video calls. They hadn’t seen each other in over a decade so Meagan’s show of emotions was understandable.
“Should I really put a call through to them?” She asked eagerly.
Carl nodded like a proud husband. “Yes baby. Send the private jet to pick them up, anyone who can make it today it’s all good and if they would like to arrive tomorrow then it’s still perfect. You can go with Hazel and do your thing. I and Julius would like to spend some buddy time together.”
Meagan stood up not blinking twice, as she giggled like a young girl before beckoning towards Hazel and the both of them pranced out of the room whispering to each other.
“She looks so happy.” Carl said as he watched Meagan exit the room and his eyes still lingered on the door after being locked.
Julius stayed quiet trying hard to not give in to the tears threatening to fall. The day Carl connected to him through the mind portal and he had been able to listen to the faint beat of his heart, Julius knew the end was near for his beloved friend.
“I would miss you all so much.” Carl whispered. He sounded more like he was going on a vacation.
“You make it sound like you are leaving to return soon.” Julius fired back.
Carl laughed lightly. “I know right.” He sighed. “I want you to promise me, Julius, that you would do everything in your power to protect Jaylen and stand by him. Also don’t make Jayden an enemy, he is a sweet kid I promise he would come around. Please don’t let my family crumble after I am gone.”
Julius sniffed. “You know I would live by that, Carl. I really don’t know what to say.” He wailed as the tears flowing freely. “I am so sorry that I can’t do anything to help buddy.” He wiped his face clean.
“You staying true to the very end is helpful enough Julius. It means a whole lot to me.” Carl stretched out his weak hands towards his best friend. “Oh come here man.”
Julius wiped off his tears as he moved into Carl’s embrace. He knew it might be the very last of their physical contact.

“I can’t believe I would be seeing my siblings after this years.” Meagan said. A look of excitement played on her beautiful face.
Gabriella sipped on her cup of tea as she sat along with Hazel and Meagan in the mini sitting room not too far from Carl’s room. She nodded. “That’s true. I am certain they won’t blink an eye before coming down here.”
“Jaylen would be really excited too.” Hazel added, knowing how fond of his mom’s siblings Jaylen was.
Grinning widely Meagan dialed Penelope on video call, the phone rang for a while before she picked.
‘Holy shit!’ Penelope yelled from the other line. ‘What the hell is going on?! Meagan you look like shit!’
Meagan rolled her eyes, very typical of Penelope to not show some courtesy. ‘It has been how long now Penelope and you didn’t even think it through to understand that I am growing old. You are too.”
‘Nah baby, I ain’t like you. My ass and boobs are still in the right shape.’ Penelope boasted.
The others in the room joined Meagan in laughing. ‘Hey Penelope keep that mouth of yours shut, you don’t look good like I do.’ Gabriella argued trying to pull a string.
Penelope gasp rang through the room. ‘Gab, can you really not interfere in this?!’
Meagan chuckled as she turned the camera to Gabriella.
Gabriella snickered. ‘Sheeeeshhh, stop being so dramatic about it.’
Meagan laughed so hard as she returned the camera to her face.
‘How are you?’ Penelope asked.
All of a sudden, tears lingered in Meagan’s eyes as she stared at her sister. Life had gotten at them so fast she had almost forgotten she had a family somewhere. Seeing her sister after what seems like a long time made her feel good like a part of her that had been tied together just got released.
‘I am good.’ Meagan replied.
‘I have missed you so much Meagan. How are you holding up? Gab and Jaylen told me about Carl.’ Penelope said with a sad look grazing her expression.
‘I am coping fine. What do you think of coming down here for sometime out?’ Meagan asked.
‘Oh please stop playing, Meg.’ Penelope rolled her eyes.
Meagan let out a laugh. ‘No jokes Penelope. I intend to call the others too.’
‘Really? You don’t need to talk too much they are coming in right now!’ Penelope said.
‘Who are you talking to?’ Jasmine’s voice came in from the background.
‘Come see for yourself.’ Penelope giggled.
‘Oh my goodness!’ Jasmine blurted before she let out a loud ear piercing scream. “Ahhhhhhhhh! Meagan, oh my goodness, it’s Meagan!’ She had tears in her eyes at this time.
‘That’s my sister?’ Collins voice came through too as the rest of them peered into the phone screen but Benjamin seem to be the only one composed.
‘Hi Meg!’
‘I have missed you so much.’
‘How have you been?’
‘Dear Luna.’
Their voices clashed against each other. Meagan was too overwhelmed by their attention that she could no longer stop the tears from falling. She didn’t expect that they would all be together at this time.
‘Tell them Meagan.’ Penelope giggled.
‘Tell us what?’ Collins asked.
‘I want to fly you guys and our parents down here to Moon Stone Fortress to spend the week.’ Meagan explained again.
‘Are you serious?’ Benjamin let out in shock. ‘When? I am in!’ He loves traveling places so it was no surprise that he sounded a bit eager.
‘Yes, and if you all don’t mind you can get picked up by this afternoon or probably tomorrow morning.’ Meagan added.
Jasmine jumped in excitement. ‘We are definitely coming. I miss you guys so much and my Jaylen baby.’
‘Jaylen is right there at the Fortress right? So does he know we are coming?’ Benjamin asked. He has always been really fond of Jaylen.
‘Not yet.’ Meagan replied.
‘Please don’t tell him yet. Let us make it a surprise.’ Collins muttered.
‘It’s all set then. I would be expecting you all. I love you guys.’ Meagan whispered.
‘We love you too!’ They all screamed back.
Hanging up the call, Meagan stared teary eyed at the eager faces of Gabriella and Hazel. “This week is going to be an unforgettable moment for me.” She announced.
