MARCELLUS POV :
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the sun shining through my window and my alarm buzzing, signalling the start of a new day. I stretched my arms and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. It’s a beautiful day and I can’t wait to start it. It was my first day at school at the Forks High Academy, I didn’t know how to feel but I felt excited in a way and nervous too. I didn’t know or have any idea how’s it’s going to be.
I got out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I turn on the shower and the warm water starts to flow. I stepped into the shower and closed my eyes, feeling the water hit my skin. It was a peaceful moment, just me and the sound of the water.
I picked up my shampoo and started to lather it into my hair. The scent of fresh citrus fills my nose and I can feel the tension in my head start to melt away. I massage my scalp and run my fingers through my hair, feeling the suds work their magic.
Next, I grab my body wash and start to scrub my skin. The bristles of the loofah feel good against my skin and I can feel myself waking up even more. I rinse off the suds and turn off the water.
I stepped out of the shower and wrap a towel around myself. I look into the mirror and see a refreshed person staring back at me. I felt energized and ready to start the day.
I headed towards my wardrobe and pulled took out my uniform, the Forks High Academy boy’s uniform, which was neatly kept and neatly ironed. And I set it on the bed, my shoes also ready and kept.
It consisted of a white collared shirt, navy blue blazer with a crest on the breast pocket, navy blue pants, a navy blue tie, with green and gold stripes and black dress shoes. I had to admit, the uniform looked pretty sharp, and I was looking forward to wearing it.
I started by putting on the white collared shirt, buttoning it up, and tucking it into my pants. Next, I put on my navy blue pants and secured them with a belt. I then put on the navy blue blazer, admiring the crest on the breast pocket. It was a symbol of the school, and I felt proud to be wearing it.
Next, I took out my time, which was a navy blue colour with green and gold stripes and which matched the colors of the school crest. I carefully tied it around my neck, making sure it was neat and properly aligned. I then put on my black dress shoes and made sure they were well polished and shined.
I took a step back and looked at myself in the mirror. I was pleased with what I saw. The uniform fit me well, and I looked sharp and presentable. I felt like I was ready to face the day and the challenges that lay ahead. I ensured, my necklace to be intact. My dad had been giving me some rules and things, informing me of how everything works. I guess same for Alex too on his side, he should be ready by now.
I grabbed my backpack and headed out my room door, ready for my first day at Forks High School.
Getting down, I was greeted by everyone, lots of awe here and there, which made me chuckle as I joined in for breakfast. Soon Alex came and my mum also urged him to have breakfast, even though he already told her that he did. Mums!!!. Alex decided to have some lighter and I had bread and fried egg, with tea. Absolutely delicious.
As soon as we were both done, we bid them goodbye, Alex was also complimented on the uniform, it sure looked good on us. We got into our car, our driver and maybe bodyguard/warrior, took us to our destination.
On the ride, I and Alex discussed a few things, also made sure we had everything we needed for school. It’s not like I and Alex didn’t hung out with some people in our pack but we were much closer and all. And now we are going to be seeing lots of students of our age, older or even younger. Interesting!.
Finally, we had reached and the car stopped. I and Alex got our school bags, getting out of the car. We stood in front of the school gate, admiring the environment.
“Mmm it’s not so bad”, I shrugged.
Alex used his shoulder to hit mine, “you know that it’s really nice Marcellus, acting like it’s not so bad”, he mimicked me.
“Fine, let’s just go in”, no one was outside at the moment, we only hoped that the school was in session today. As we stepped into the compound, we saw like two teachers I guess and very few students. Most of them stared at us as we passed.
We walked into the imposing building of our new school, our eyes taking in what we saw. The marble floors and high ceilings made the school feel like a palace, and look really nice.
As we approached the front desk, a woman who was seated there looked up from her computer and greeted us with a warm smile. “Good morning, boys. How can I help you?”
“We’re here for orientation and starting a new day here,” I said, my voice a bit strong and confident. She then asked for our names and said we were expected after we told her.
“Of course,” the woman replied, still smiling. “I’m Mrs. Thompson, the school’s receptionist. You’ll be meeting with the principal today. Please follow me.”
Mrs. Thompson led us down a long, pristine corridor and stopped in front of a large wooden door. She rapped her knuckles against the door and pushed it open, revealing a spacious office with a desk at the center.
Sitting behind the desk was a stern-looking man with short hair, his glasses on as he went through some work. He looked up as we walked in and greeted us with a nod. “Good morning, boys. I’m Mr. Hawkins the principal of this school. Please take a seat.”
We sat down in the chairs facing the principal’s desk, and Mr. Hawkins spent the next hour giving us a thorough overview of the school’s policies, rules, and expectations. He also talked about the opportunities and resources available to us, and how we could get involved in various extracurricular activities. Then we were giving our time table and since I and Alex were offering the same thing, we had the same classes and then we were dismissed. We were both showed to our class and walked in, all eyes on us. We heard lots of whispers and gasps, etc. The teacher urged us to introduce ourselves. Alex did that first and now it was my turn.
I walked in front of the class and then, “Good morning everyone, My name is Marcellus Marshall”.
