“Nothing Alpha, he was just exhausted and fainted. He just needs rest, that’s all and when he wakes, he should eat something too”, The healer informed them. All of them breathed a sigh of relief at hearing that Marcellus was okay and he will be fine.
Alpha Aiden carried his son to his room, with Alex trailing after them. Alex offered to stay with Marcellus that night and of course everyone agreed.
Alex laid with his best friend and also slept off, as little as he was, he worried about his best friend so much.
Midnight now, Alex was awaken by his best friend moving on the bad, like he was having a bad dream or something.
“Marcellus, Marcellus”, Alex rubbed his eyes as he shook his best friend in order to get him to wake up.
Finally Marcellus woke up, his breathe hitched as he turned to look at who was there with him.
“Alex?”, Marcellus asked for confirmation.
Alex smiled and looked at him, “of course it’s me, are you okay?”.
Marcellus hugged his best friend, shivering a little. They broke the hug, Alex reassuring Marcel that everything will be fine.
“Let’s get ice cream from the kitchen. Maybe that will make you feel better”, Alex suggested.
As the two boys tumbled out of their shared room and made their way down to the kitchen, they were surprised to find that the house was dark and quiet, of course it should be, since everyone were asleep. They stumbled a little as they walked, their eyes not yet fully adjusted to the darkness. But the sound of the ice cream carton being opened in the fridge soon filled the air and woke them up completely.
With a sense of excitement, they pulled out the carton of their favorite ice cream and headed to the kitchen counter. They hopped up onto the countertop, sitting cross-legged and facing each other.
In the moonlight filtering in through the windows, they could just make out the colors of the ice cream in their bowls. They dug in with their spoons, the cool sweetness melting in their mouths as they chatted about their favorite parts of the day.
“Remember when we went to the park today?” Alex said, his eyes shining in the darkness, he wanted Marcellus to feel much better and decided to bring happy thoughts. “And we had that race down the big slide?”
Marcellus nodded, a smile spreading across his face. It was working. “That was so much fun! I can’t believe we were able to go down it so fast.”
They continued to chat and laugh as they ate their ice cream, reliving the memories of their day. The midnight snack and their conversation made for a perfect ending to a fun-filled day. They finished their ice cream and, with a satisfied sigh, hopped down from the counter and as they were about to leave, they saw a figure standing by the door way.
Suddenly the lights were turned on, making the boys shriek in fear.
The boys were momentarily stunned. They had never been caught sneaking out before, and they didn’t know how to react. Wel maybe they might have , giggles . Marcellus father, Alpha Aiden, however, didn’t seem to be angry. In fact, he was smiling.
“What are you two doing here at this hour?” he asked, his tone light and playful.
The boys stammered, trying to come up with an explanation. They didn’t want to get in trouble, but they also didn’t want to lie.
Alpha Aiden chuckled. “I’m just messing with you. I remember doing stuff like this when I was your age. But be careful, okay?, Not too much” he said, giving them each a pat on the back.
Marcellus rushed and hugged his dad, careful with where Alpha Aiden was hit, “I missed you too buddy and I’m fine , so don’t worry about me”, Alpha Aiden caressed his son’s head.
“I was so scared dad but you thought me how to be brave and I did it”, Marcellus said his face buried in his dad’s chest.
“And I’m very much proud of you my son. Hope you feeling much better now?”, Alpha Aiden asked his son, who nodded his head, “yes and Alex made me feel much better too and we had ice cream”.
Alpha Aiden also pulled Alex, who was giggling into a hug. He tickled them both and laughed. The two boys giggled trying to get away.
Then Alpha Aiden took them up to their room and helped them lay in. He muttered a goodnight and left them. The boys stayed up for a little while before they finally let the sleep take them.
Alpha Aiden went back to his room, Camille was already awake and looking for him.
The moon shone brightly through the window, casting an ethereal glow across the room. Camille rubbed her eyes, her mind slowly registering that something was amiss. As she sat up in bed, she realized that her husband/mate, Aiden, was not in bed and anywhere in the room.
She frowned, wondering where Aiden could be at this time of the night. Camille pushed back the covers and made her way to the door, her mind whirling with possibilities.
As she reached for the handle, she heard the sound of footsteps in the hallway. She breathed a sigh of relief as Aiden appeared in the doorway.
“What are you doing up?”, Alpha Aiden asked, kissing Camille on the forehead.
“Well I tried feeling you on the bed and you weren’t there”, Camille whined cutely, “where were you?”.
Alpha Aiden chuckled, “unfortunately the boys decided to sneak or rather go into the kitchen to get ice cream and I sneaked up on them”.
“I hope you didn’t scare the life out of them”, Camille Chuckled as she pulled her man into the room and closed the door.
“Not exactly”, Alpha Aiden smirked.
“How’s Marcellus? Is he doing okay?”, Camille asked getting concerned.
“Yes he is and Alex added to making him happy. I’m glad he has Alex as a best friend and you”, Alpha Aiden said touching his mate’s nose, “can see him tomorrow”.
“I’m glad too and of course”, Camille blushed at the look her mate was giving to her.
Aiden smirked, loving the reaction he was getting, “now how about you feel me like you wanted too”.
