ALPHA AIDEN’S POV :
I laid awake in my bed, my mind racing with thoughts of my mate, Camille. I couldn’t shake the feeling of restlessness that had taken hold of me, preventing me from getting a good night’s sleep.
As I sat up in bed, rubbing my tired eyes, I couldn’t help but think about how I had treated my mate. I had been so focused on my own wants and needs, that I hadn’t even cared about how I will feel if I was in her shoes. As soon as she left, all hatred vanished, I wasn’t even sure if I hated her or I just thought so lowly of her or my pride.
I had been cruel and dismissive towards her, and it had led to her leaving me finally. I knew I was to blame for her running away, and the weight of my guilt was heavy on my shoulders.
As I sat there, lost in thought, I couldn’t help but feel the emptiness that now filled my heart. I realized that I had lost the one thing that truly mattered to me, and I knew that I would do anything to get her back.
I knew that I needed to make amends, to show her that I was sorry for my actions and that I truly love and care for her. How could I be so stupid and let her slip away now.
“I warned you Aiden but you wouldn’t listen”, this was the first time, Alistair my wolf had spoken to me in a while. I was about to reply back when he shut me out. I deserved that, I wouldn’t even want to have a conversation with me and he did warn me but I didn’t listen, now I have to suffer for it until I find a way to get Camille back.
As I still sat on the bed, lost in thoughts, I was interrupted by the sound of movement beside me. I turned to see Laila waking up and looking at me with a seductive gaze.
She leaned in towards me, pressing her lips against my neck and whispering that she could make me forget all about my mate. She began to seduce me, rubbing her hands all over my body, but I pushed her away, refusing to be tempted by her advances, I was even irritated.
“Don’t touch me,” I said firmly, pushing myself off the bed and heading towards the bathroom to freshen up.
**Meanwhile Luna Laila laid on the bed, looking disappointed and hurt**.
Laila was still on the bed when I came out from the bathroom, she got up then and started making her way to freshen up too. I went downstairs to have a cup of coffee and some food.
All three of us , Laila and I and my Mum were having breakfast together as usual.
Miss Clara helped serve breakfast today, normally most times it would be Camille. How I missed seeing her face already.
Miss Clara was about to leave when I called her back and she turned “yes?”.
“Do you by any chance know where Camille might have gone too. You guys were very close and I thought maybe she told you something” I asked her politely.
Miss Clara shooked her head, “she didn’t tell me anything, not even a message Alpha”. And then left to continue with her duties.
I had already bent the iron spoon in my hand in frustration. I stood up Immediately, loosing my appetite to eat as I went for the meeting I had today. My mum tried calling me back but I ignored her and left.
As the Alpha of the Pack, I sat at the head of the table in the meeting room, surrounded by the council of Elders and my Beta with me by my side. We had been discussing various issues within the pack, such as territory disputes and the allocation of resources, training ground, renovations and many other topics.
But my mind was elsewhere. I couldn’t focus on the topics at hand and found myself constantly drifting off, lost in thought.
Finally, I stood up and interrupted the discussion. “Excuse me, council,” I said politely. “I apologize, but I am not feeling well and I think it would be best if we rescheduled this meeting for another time.”
The council looked at me in surprise, but I didn’t wait for a response. I quickly left the room, leaving the Elders to stare after me in confusion.
As I left, Liam quickly followed after me. He caught up with the me in the hallway and grabbed my arm.
“Alpha, where are you going? Why did you leave the meeting?” Liam asked, concern etched on his face.
I turned to him, frustration clear in my eyes. “My mind isn’t here,” I growled lowly, trying to shake off the his grip.
But Liam didn’t let go. “What do you mean? Is something troubling you?”
I let out a sigh, my whole body boiling. “It’s nothing,” I dragged out through gritted teeth.
“It’s not nothing,” Liam pressed, “Is about right?
“If you knew, then why were you asking me?” I snarled at him not in the mood for stupid jokes.
He let go of me, shaking his head, “I know you regret everything you have done Aiden but there’s nothing you can do for now. She’s gone! Maybe with time you will find a way or something will bring you guys back together, but for now, Camille is gone.
So you need to concentrate at least, you don’t want to loose your pack to and your Pack isn’t going to run itself” Liam advice as he turned at went back to the place of meet.
CAMILLE’S POV :
We both went out of our shocking trance as we ran and hugged each other, tears rolling down from our faces.
She pulled out of the hug as my aunt stared at me with tears eyes.
“Look at you, your a woman!” She exclaimed. I chuckled as I sobbed, hugging her again.
“I missed you so much aunty, it’s been like ages” I said to her as she caressed my hair.
She cleaned my eyes as she held my hands, taking me inside, saying, “I’m glad your here my little baby who is not so little anymore. Let’s go in, we have a lot of catching up to do”.
