Adrenaline dictated Sia’s action immediately she saw Silas aim for her lips, she shifted her gaze and his lips landed on her cheek. Silas licked the skin of her cheek. Lust crept at the edge of his vision.
He moved his lips toward her nose and nipped on it gently, chills ran down Sia’s spine.
His hand moved to her stomach and he circled on it, the fabric of her cloth being the only obstruction for his hand to make contact with her bare skin.
Moving his lips down to her chin, he tilted her head up with his two fingers and latched his lips tight there.
“I’d never want you dead no matter how much I want to confiscate the property and power from you.” He said with a hoarse voice.
Sia’s mind was on high alert as his hands moved to her waistline. She hoisted her hand to push against him but Silas didn’t budge.
“I’m obsessed with you, Sia.” He trailed his lips to the edges of her lips. Slipping out his tongue, he swiped it across the edges.
Sia shriveled her lips as repulsion encircled her heart. The mingling of their breath made her a bit nauseous.
“I’d kill whoever wants you dead and make you mine, Sia.” He said. A crooked smile appeared on his face when he saw the look on Sia’s face.
Sia nudged him just as he flushed his chest against hers. She inched her face away from his, to ditch his liquor lingering breath. “Get away from me, Silas.” She whispered. Her last forceful nudge against his chest made him stagger backward.
Silas bit on his lower lip, feeling the strong bulge in his pants. He wants to fuck Sia, so bad it drives him nuts.
“You want to convince me it wasn’t you with your petty seductive skills?” She chortled and moved to the vanity where she dropped her bag and clambered down from her heels. “It won’t convince me otherwise, Silas Monson. I knew you as a devil from the moment I set my eyes on you.” She said unclipping her stud earrings.
“I’d never do that. At least not to you.” He growled. The annoyance in his voice was palpable. Sia slid her eyes back at him and laughed. Her condescending laughter spurred rage within Silas.
He dashed toward her and held her neck in a vise grip. “That I want you and wish to fuck you every damn time gives you no right to demean me, Sia. You don’t know what I can do.” The edge in his voice didn’t make Sia flinch rather it spurred her laughter more.
“Of course, I know what you can do. Attempting to kill me…”
“More than that,” Silas said cutting Sia off. “If I wanted you dead, I’d be the one to strangle you myself, love. I wouldn’t have someone do it for me. I love to take my prey by myself, you know.” Silas’s voice turned more hoarse as his rage and lust blended together.
“You’re evil Silas!” Sia roared but earned a chuckle from Silas.
“Not only me, love. Whoever wanted you dead might as well be more evil than I am.” He edged to the bed and dip into it. “Come to think of it, you don’t even know this newly made enemy. Unlike me, you already know me as the villain in your life. You don’t know the other and you won’t know how to fight him or her.”
As much as Sia doesn’t want to read meaning into Silas’s words, her mind has began processing his words.
‘If Silas claims not to be the one behind the attack, then who could it be that wants me dead?’ Sia asked herself. Worry tightened her chest and fear blurred her vision.
Someone else wants her dead. Someone is secretly attacking her and she doesn’t have any idea who it is.
‘Who could be the one that wants me dead?’ As this question spiraled through her mind, she met Silas’s eyes lingering on her boobs.
Silas’s words dimmed the anger within Sia but hefted thousands of questions she has no answer to. Silas savored the look of fear and confusion swelling Sia’s body. His intention is to gain her trust, to have Sia run into his arms for safety. For protection.
He pressed on with his words, wanting his sentence to dip into her body through every pore on Sia’s body.
“Wealth or power cannot be the only reason someone might want you dead. Besides you only became what you’re not long ago.” He spilled and an invisible smile graced his lips.
Standing up from the comfort of the bed, he scrambled towards her with calculated steps. His mind held words that will put Sia’s thoughts in shambles and heighten her fear and put her in a state of devastation. And with every worry pleating on Sia’s face, it seems his plans are coming to fruition.
“You had a life before you became a Monson, didn’t you?” He tilted Sia’s head and slammed his gaze on her fear-stricken face. “I heard your family had tragic events in the past. One so gory…”
“Stop it!” Sia whisper-yelled and the tears she reined in her eye duct, coursed down her cheeks like a waterfall.
The images of the burnt car Nicole was in lined up in the fissure of her mind. The fire they saw that night when they heard the news about the accident and rushed to the stead, is crippling her.
The outcry of her mother and the thud sound of her knees when they met the tarred road seeped into her ears.
Tremor is all Sia could feel now.
“I want to let you know the things you weren’t aware of,” Silas said hoarsely. “The main villain in this situation you weren’t aware of.”
Sia fell to the ground and clasp her hands on her head as voices, wails, and images of everything riveted in her mind.
Someone wants her dead. Maybe this time the person isn’t coming with the same method of setting her on fire. Maybe this time the person wants to smother her.
The ‘maybes’ floating through Sia’s mind made her fingers thrum. Falling to his haunches, Silas took her face in his hands, looking into her eyes to get ahold of her warring thoughts.
“I can protect you.” His hoarse voice toppled over the voices pummeling Sia’s head. “I can help you find who the enemy here is, love. You have me to rely on. I can help prevent your past from repeating…”
With tear-filled eyes, Sia looked up at Silas, and her heart thrummed. Her feral thoughts clung to all fissures of her head.
“GO!” She pled. The banging of her head is enough proof of the overdrive her mind is in. “LEAVE!” This time her voice gave strength to her words.
Silas is messing with her head and all she wants is for him to leave her alone. To stop the rude awakening of her past.
Standing up to his feet, the crease on his face became palpable as he smoothed his shirt and flip his hair backward.
His eyes ran down on Sia’s heaped body on the floor and the victory his eyes held are beyond expression.
“I’ll leave, love. But you’ve to remember, there are devils like me lurking in the shadows.” With that, he spun on his heels and snuck out of her room.
With tremoring limbs, Sia
stepped on a rampage. She wailed as she pulled the mirror of her vanity down, letting it shatter on the floor. She forcefully nudged the dresser across the room and the impact made her water dispenser fly across the floor.
Grabbing a fistful of her duvet, she twiddle it across the floor.
Raw hatred.
Anger. Fear consumed her.
“Why me!?” She screamed atop her voice and the air in her lungs escaped.
She paused on her stead as blackness began to overtake her vision. In one fluid motion, she fell on the bed like a piece of rag with her body jittering.
At that moment, Michelle knocked on the door. Michelle acted on autopilot and turned the doorknob, squeezing herself inside immediately.
Taking in the condition of the room and Sia, Michelle called on the other servants and rushed to Sia’s bed.
“Mrs. Monson.” She yelled, swatting Sia’s cheeks lightly to wake her up. “Mrs. Monson wake up! Wake up.”
Sia budged but didn’t flip her eyes open.
Michelle’s adrenaline surged and all she could think is to take Sia to the hospital or rather call the family doctor.
As the idea clicked, she hastened downstairs and instructed the servants she met on her way to clear Sia’s room while she calls the doctor.
By the time Michelle came back, she saw tears slipping from Sia’s eyes and the words spilling from her mouth had Michelle paused in her stead.
“Mother! Mother! Nicole!” Sia screamed.
