Matter of time

As we stepped inside, he grasped Randle’s hand. He no longer speaks to me even in the car, which makes me sad. I really don’t want to bother him any longer since he already thinks too much, and I don’t want to add to it. When I think about him, it gets much worse in his eyes. I came to a halt because tears were welling up in my eyes. I felt as though something was stuck in my throat and I couldn’t get it out. I don’t feel good anymore, and I believe things are getting worse. My heart ached further as he walked up the steps and still didn’t look at me. My throat was parched, and I couldn’t say what I needed to to him.
He gazed at me as I wept. Because of what he was doing, I couldn’t stop sobbing. In recent days, my mood swings have been changing, and I may easily become irritated with Randle or Randall. Every morning, vomiting visits me, and I have an idea why, but I don’t want to tell him until we’ve settled our situation with Helena and Archer. When everything is in order, I’d want to tell him this blessing news. I turned away from them, wiping the tears from my cheek. Perhaps they don’t need me anymore, and they can be just the two of them.
As I approached the door, a hand clutched my waist and refused to let go. Because of what he had done, tears welled up in my eyes. When I took it off, he kissed my brow and sniffed the top of my head. My tears spilled even more with each movement. I know I have nothing to worry about, but what if they go so suddenly? What if, one day, when I opened my eyes, they weren’t there? I’m terrified.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to harm you, I don’t want to hurt you, but I’m scared of what you’re doing. I know Archer and what he’s capable of. He doesn’t care who he runs into; what matters to him are himself and his mother. I’d like you to stay at home until I get some answers regarding what’s going on. I’m concerned about Randle and you.” He went quiet and hugged me, and Randle came to me, so I hugged them even more. I nod as he finishes what he’s saying. “I’ve also increased security to ensure that what happened in our last residence does not happen again.”
My phone rang as we hugged, so I hurriedly grabbed it, hoping for news of the woman. I didn’t anticipate much because it was only lunchtime, but when I saw who was calling, I returned Randle to his father and answered the phone. Randall and I exchanged glances as I listened to the voice on the other end of the call. I also activated the loudspeaker so that Randall could hear what we were saying and handle the matter. I put the phone between us and began listening to what was on the other end of the line.
“We’re with the woman now, Mrs. Adams; she’s already consented to come with us; we’re just waiting for you to tell us where you want to talk to her. Is it at the police station or at your house?” Because of what the cops stated, the excitement in my heart is alive, and I didn’t believe it would be simple for us to do. I smiled at Randall, and he didn’t seem to understand why. I haven’t told him where I went, and I don’t think Ava has told him what happened.
“Take her at our place, we will talk to her about what she will do,” I responded, cutting the call short because they knew where they were heading. When I placed my phone back in my bag, I noticed Randall waiting for my explanation, so I hugged him and told him it was only a matter of time before everything was perfect. It’s only a matter of time till I don’t have to worry about anything and we’ll be happy. He’s still not asking, and it appears like he’s waiting for me to tell him everything.
“That woman will be our solution to finding out who is truly to blame for everything,” I said to him. I also told him how I learned about CCTV and his mother, and he simply sat there and listened. Everything will be easier for me since it is all coming to an end. My delight is still unimaginable. The woman I was waiting for came after I finished telling him everything. When the cops arrived, I was as happy as a toddler to see his or her parents.
When the woman came down, I thanked her by hugging her and she seemed shy of what I had done, and when I broke with the hug, I uttered the words I wanted to say to her.
“I appreciate your cooperation. Just tell me what you want, and I’ll give it to you.”
