Chapter Eighty-Five – Few energy.
Rihanna’s POV
Dara was embarrassing. Did she really get that horse tail from Sasha?
Surely she didn’t kidnap her because why will she? I brushed it aside.
The current more impending problem was Logan having the Blue Bloom Princess.
What’s he trying to prove by having a royalty? Was this what Jaden meant by he only needed power? Will killing an Alpha give him power?
“Of course, it will.” Lana yelled in my head. “He wants to take our chance to kill Chris. Never, we will do the killing.”
I smiled to myself. So we were going there to save the Blue Bloom Princess and ensure the Lycan didn’t kill Chris.
That was a good way of seeing it.
Edwin climbed inside the carriage, I didn’t want to and rather run to the place but Chris pushed me in. I glared at him. “Don’t touch me again.”
Edwin shook his head as Chris climbed in.
The carriage was bigger in the inside than it looked at the outside. I stayed at the edge, looking out the window.
“Tell Beatrice that I will return tomorrow.” I mind linked a warrior and informed. She nodded, with a bowed. The carriage started to leave.
“So what exactly are you going to do for us where we are going?” I questioned Edwin.
He looked away, playing with his hair. From the nose downwards, he was a good copy of Sasha but his eyes were different.
Sasha’s held mischief, his was more innocent.
“So you and your Alpha don’t have a plan? I hope you don’t want me to be the one saving your asses?” my upper lips curled.
Chris exhaled, facing me. “Your Silver please, the plan is disarm the Lycan, I’d help. Edwin takes the princess away. Okay?”
So he needed my help? It sounded like I’d be the one doing most of the ‘disarm the Lycan’.
“Vague but can do.” I shrugged, accepting my fate.
Edwin glimpse at his Alpha, then sat up, “And why exactly do we even need her again?”
I laughed heartily, then rested on the carriage. I could smell the silver around us. We were close to Boots and Rivers market.
“Her barriers immobilizes the Lycan, Edwin. I’ve seen it weaken him badly. That’s how she caught him at first.” His Alpha replied him.
I wore a proud smirk. The rider rode faster as we got deeper into the forest.
In Logan’s letter, he wanted to meet at a forest after the Boots and Rivers market.
The carriage slowed down and I jumped out through the window. I took off my cloak and tied it around my leg.
I packed my hair in a bun and concentrated on my surroundings. “They are very few energy here. I don’t think he has reinforcements.”
As I told Chris, I saw a look of relief wash over his face.
“How do you know that?” Edwin scoffed. “He must have some wolfs that help him or the warriors with the Blue Bloom Princess.”
My countenance changed to a sad one. If I couldn’t get their readings then… “They are probably dead.”
“How’d you know that…?” Edwin argued.
“Edwin!” Chris barked. He froze, turning.
“She’s a Silver Wolf and amongst it’s perks is energy reading, your father surely taught you that, didn’t he?”
Edwin pursed his lips, tilting his head. “Just like Alphas? My father and I don’t talk about Silver Wolfs.”
“Well then, let me teach you about us. We can do anything. Alphas needs us, desperately.” I winked at him and marched towards the reading.
I heard Chris tsk but he followed behind me.
A silent growl halted us. It was dominant and commanding, even as low at it was. But it wasn’t near.
“We should sneak up on him, he wouldn’t know how many of us are here.” Edwin suggested.
I snapped my fingers in agreement, that was the smartest thing that kid had said since I met him.
“Fine, I’d meet him first.” Chris volunteered. “Edwin, you should be at the safest place as…”
“You are the weakest amongst us.” I finished Chris’s words, with a smirk.
He shook his head, gesturing with his hands. “No, no, as you are the one who’d take the princess away. Stay safe.”
His Delta ran off after understanding. Chris eyed me up and down before marching ahead to meet with the Lycan.
My eyes darted around looking for a worthy tree, high with strong branches that I could climb on.
Another growl resonated through the forest, this one was startling and quite close. I jumped up a tree to see what was happening.
Ahead of me was a hill, where a lone palm tree was grown. Something was tied on it, or was it someone?
The Lycan was below the hill in human form, waiting for Chris.
I was beginning to doubt he wanted to kill Chris, as he wasn’t being attacking and was in human form.
“Alpha King, you honored my invitation.” He sounded elated. “Well, I honestly wasn’t expecting you so soon.”
“Let the princess go, Logan!” Chris yelled.
The Princess, on hearing him, began making muffled sounds.
I checked around for Edwin, he should be trying to free her by now.
“Oh please, you act like you don’t have that under control. Whoever it is you sent to free her, they can.” Logan snickered.
He knew someone was coming to save her? Did he plant a trap? Chris looked unsure and I bet tried warning Edwin through mind link.
I noticed the Delta, under the hill but closer to the princess than he was to the Lycan.
“Don’t get me wrong, do save the girl. She was only bait to get you out of the palace. I want nothing to do with her.” Logan sighed, tiredly.
Edwin cut through the ropes and the princess fell on him, tired and panting.
I felt pity for her, the amount of death her young eyes had seen could haunt her.
“Fine, you want me, here I am. What did you want to talk about?” Chris marched closer, having a defensive stance.
Logan shone teeth. “I don’t need you either.”
What was he saying? He just said he wanted Chris out and now he doesn’t want him again?
“I only needed you to lure my target for me and you did a good job. You understood my letter.” He clapped his hands. “Thank you.”
What was this Lycan yapping about? I read his letter and all it said was it needed Chris to exchange for the princess.
“I don’t understand…” but before Chris could finish the Lycan through a bowl of silver and water into his face, making Chris fumble.
It was surely from the river close to the Boots and Rivers market.
“I wanted you to draw the Silver Wolf out! And you did, Rihanna, I know you hear me! You are the one I want to kill today!” the Lycan roared.
Me?
