Chapter Seventy-Six – Tingles.
Rihanna’s POV
With Ray around me, I could feel the mate bond more intensely. It was crazy and hard to stay away from Jaden.
He was inspecting the border which was broken by the Lycan. Jaden had helped mold it, his warrior exactly, when we were building.
Ray mind linked to me, that he was leaving with Chris. I didn’t want him to yet, maybe because I’d stop feeling the sweet tingles.
But I wanted them home as I spoke too nicely with Jaden. I needed to stop feeling these things.
“You won’t mind my warriors coming again to help with this mold? I do take pride that your border was molded by them.” Jaden smirked.
I nodded readily. “Sure.” That was all I said.
Jaden expected more. “Sure? You wouldn’t mind that I am trying to build your pack for you?”
I knew that was a line I used before but that was when I wasn’t feeling crazy emotions like now.
And did he feel these too, was that how it was for him? Damn. No wonder he frequented here.
“You are trying to be a worthy ally, I’d let you.” I shrugged, looking away.
He nodded. “Well, thank you.”
I smiled but let it fall off before he saw it.
“You are quiet, that bruise didn’t affect you, did it?” he took a step closer to me.
But I took two back. He should keep his distance before something happened.
“Do you think I’d be shaken by a bruise? I’m only displeased that I used words to taunt Chris and he used hands.” I scoffed.
Jaden’s eyes darkened as he went back to the mold. “Why not stop taunting him? He is your Alpha King.”
“Your Alpha King, not mine! And I’d show that to him soon enough.” I promised.
Ray was leaving, I could feel his connection get harder and harder to reach, also the tingling feelings stopped.
“You should be less haughty Rihanna. Chris isn’t your problem now. That Lycan is.” Jaden reminded, walking towards the prison.
My eyes ran him from head to toe in a disapproving manner. I wasn’t going to listen to him. Chris deserved none of my reverences.
I followed Jaden, while thinking of constructive words to say to not force Logan to be evil. I don’t mind unfulfilling the prophecy.
Peace was what was important not following a prophecy written by a funny prophet. “Any news on the other Lycan?”
Jaden snapped his head at me, then slowly looked back where he was going. “I totally forgot about it. It hasn’t done anything since.”
After the news were exposed about Lycans being amongst our packs, the other Lycan seemed to have hidden in the shadows.
As we walked into the prison, I exhaled, finally being able to construct something to tell Logan.
Beatrice gave me a side eye seeing me nervous but I nodded to her that I was okay.
“I’d go on with you.” Jaden said, as he opened the prison door. I nodded and walked in, he followed then closed behind us.
“Logan.” I called.
He gazed up, first on me then tarried on Jaden. I noticed his eyes soften then he smiled. “You came to me with an Alpha? Your reply is a no?”
I shook my head immediately. “Not plainly a no. I can’t partake in sorcery, it’s aftereffects are much…”
“And you must have known that yet told her to partake in it.” Jaden interfered.
I nudged him. He should let me handle this so Logan wouldn’t get offended.
Logan explained. “Sorcery works differently for people. Witches are wolfs who could withstand it and partook in it many times. Her case is…”
“She’s not a witch!” Jaden said again.
My hands fell. He wasn’t helping. “Look, Logan, I’ll happily provide whatever you’d need to live your last days happily but I can’t help you.”
The Lycan growled lowly, moving backwards in an irritated manner. “To think I depended on your Werewolfs.”
That wasn’t a good line, he was offended.
Jaden clicked his tongue, disapprovingly. “Stop the act, you don’t have any illness, you just want extra energy.”
What was he saying? He faced me and I stared at him with questioning expressions? “If you give him energy to ‘heal’, he gets stronger, if he’s a Delta, he’d break Beta rank.”
“And you have no ailment, you just need energy from a silver wolf or else, anyone could have helped you.” Jaden added. “You’re using her.”
Logan suddenly began laughing, I took steps back. Were Jaden words true? He only wanted to use me?
“I am an Alpha Lycan King, what rank do I need to break?” he asked Jaden with a frown.
That made sense, he was already as powerful as he could be. Or was he?
“Well, it’s surely not illness you’re trying to cure. Only you know what twisted plans you have up your sleeves.” Jaden shrugged.
I hit Jaden at his sides. That was becoming a bit far. What if he only needed help?
Lana fully agreed with Jaden but I didn’t know if it was because he was her mate or because she felt pure bad vibe with Logan.
But I knew how it felt to be denied the little help you need, to prove yourself. I don’t need a Lycan trying to prove himself to me.
“It’s fine, you two are Werewolfs anyway. I didn’t expect much.” Logan revealed, rising to his feet.
My heat thumped violently but Jaden didn’t seem shaken.
“So what’ll you do now?” Jaden asked. There’s no other silver wolf in our kingdom. Will you try other kingdoms or die peacefully?”
“Why do you care?” Logan smiled at him.
Jaden rolled his eyes. “To be sure you won’t be causing trouble. Her offer is still open to helping you live well till your death.”
Logan’s fists clenched. “I don’t need it. And you surely don’t need me here on a full red Moon. You can’t hold me.”
Does that mean he’d leave? We should just let him leave? What will happen to him?
“Stop worrying! He’s not going to back off and we’d get to us one way or the other. He’s shady.” Lana hissed.
Logan brushed past Jaden as he walked away, it made Jaden smirk.
He turned to me. “So the Lycan will just walk off? Didn’t Chris say to kill him?”
“Do you have the heart to? He’s a sick man…”
“Rihanna, didn’t you use your wolf vision? He isn’t! He isn’t sick!” Jaden yelled in frustration. “He is a full Alpha Lycan King, he can’t be sick.”
He stormed off before I could reply. My forehead creased, why was as he yelling at me when I was trying to work with my heart for once?
“You heart has always slowed you now. Use your head. That Lycan isn’t being open…”
My mind link was being broken into. I groaned as I tried to block it and open but then I heard a voice in my head.
“If you won’t participate in sorcery for my sake, will you do it for your pack member?”
I was sure it was Logan. My pack member? I rushed out of the prison and ran past Jaden.
“What is it?” Jaden asked as I stood outside the prison, looking around.
“Beatrice was out here now! Where’s she?” I shouted, searching for her in mind link but she couldn’t be reached. Bloody Lycans!
