Chapter 93

Book:Alpha's Puppet  Published:2024-5-31

Alpha Jax expects some sort of disrespect from his council members. After all, some of them did not like him before. Either because of the fact that he barely attended meeting and most is because of the sex slaves he kept.
Most of his council member sees it as something beyond the morals an Alpha should have. An Alpha should have a Luna to keep him by his side. To support him, to advise him and rule in his stead. But Alpha Jax doesn’t.
After Zeeb left the room, he did not say a word with his council members. And they all say there, not initiating any conversation on how to go about it.
“Could you all give me sometime. I could use it right now,” he begged.
“Yes, My Alpha!” They replied in unison and left the room.
Alpha Jax did not think much. Most of what he did was just sit on his throne and drink wine. He could sense the aura of betrayal around him. He just doesn’t know who it will be from. And he knows there are lots of things to do.
“Why don’t I do it now? This war might separate us for a long time. Why don’t I just ask for Ava’s forgiveness and tell her how I feel while I still have time. Hell, her forgiveness might even spare me,” Alpha Jax convinced himself. He stood up shakily not drunk, but tired from worrying. He walk out of his court and he could hear whispers. The whispers are not from nearby, it’s just his senses. He listened more.
“I thought you hated him,” he heard a familiar voice said.
“A devil we know for a long time is better than an angel we are just meeting,” another voice said. It sounded like the voice of his council members. He does not know who they are yet, and he listened more.
“You know why I will fight with him all day, even though I am against his morals?”
“What? You are certain we will win this war?”
“Definitely not. This war is a list cause. I think those werewolves out there are ready to let this last as long as it can. They came with the full preparation for a siege. We might lose this war and we might win it.”
“Then why do you think we should not betray him.”
“I have been in wars, and I have planned strategies for war. It’s same to say, I have lived more war lives than peaceful ones. And I know whoever betray a faction gets betrayed by the faction he defect to. He is used as pawn, and thrown off at the convenience of the winner. Another thing is I take pride in being a member of the bond moon pack. I will not trade it for something else.”
“My Alpha,” a walking sex slave called Alpha Jax. Sheade him lose focus. He listened again but his mind could not narrow back to the discussion. He got worried at first, but then calmed himself down when he realises that he has people with him.
Alpha Jax knocks on Ava’s door. There was no reply for the first time. He knocked again, and the door opened. Alpha Jax saw Benjamin on Ava’s bed, reading a book. He entered and look behind the door. He saw Ava gasp and her eyes shine in fear.
“My Alpha,” she bow when he looked at her. He greeting got the attention of Benjamin. He looked up. He saw Alpha Jax. He dropped his book immediately and came before Alpha Jax.
“My Alpha,” he bow too.
“Hmm,” Alpha Jax sighed. He placed both his hands behind him and walked majestically into the room.
“So you guys live together now or what?” He asked.
“No my lord, I only come to visit her once in a while. And since we know about the horror waiting for us outside, I think it will be good if we are together,” Benjamin replied.
“Will you fight him?”
“Who my lord?”
“Shane! Will you fight him if you had the chance?” Alpha Jax asked.
“If you will it so.”
“How long have you known about his existence? How long have you known that he is an Alpha?” Alpha Jax asked. He knew at some point he was still going to talk to Benjamin, but he just did not expect it to be soon. And according to his informants, Alpha Jax believes that Benjamin and Shane had not been in contact. He believes Benjamin only heard of Shane, the day he attacked.
“The day I heard we were under attack is the day I heard of him. I heard of an Alpha who deposed the former Alpha of night wolf pack, I had my suspicions but I never knew it’s him,” Benjamin replied.
“I see,” Alpha Jax walk towards the bed. He stood beside it and lean on the pillar.
“He is your mate and he did not reach out to you?”
“My lord, you ordered that both of us never have contact alever again. And I stayed away from him, ever since,” Benjamin replied.
“Why do I have a feeling that you and your mate are conspiring against me?”
“Listen to my heartbeat, my lord.”
“Your heartbeat tells me something else, and my feeling says another…”
“And I don’t think that’s Benjamin’s fault,” Ava interrupted.
“Ava!” Benjamin called her.
“I think I get what you are doing here my Lord. Are you trying to make me mad and jealous of the fact that Benjamin’s mate create a war for him?”
“Definitely not,” Alpha Jax denied.
“It seems, My lord, that you are trying to put every blame of this attack on him,” Ava said.
“Ava, you wound me,” Alpha Jax said. He turned around.
“Benjamin, will you wait outside and do whatever you want. I want to have a time alone with her,” Alpha Jax ordered. Benjamin looked at Ava and he stood up immediately and left.
Alpha Jax appreciates the silences between between him and Ava.
