Chapter 86

Book:Alpha's Puppet  Published:2024-5-31

Lily missed the environment of the pack she grew up in. Even if she goes on pilgrimage to the goddess shrine, she would still always come back to her pack. The nostalgia. She enjoys every part of it but it only becomes a issue when the sex slaves of her brother start to poke nose or trespass. She has a whole block for her that no one cares come into. She likes that Alpha Jax made them respect it.
She just returned back to the pack after three months. Since the day she changed the potion that her brother takes, she had left the pack and she only return to see its effect. She did not just leave for the fun of traveling or the pilgrimage.
“I have changed the potion, but you still need to be around here. You need to keep praying for your brother. He needs your help. You have done what you can, and now you need to add prayer to the goddess. Both of them will go a long way,” the priestess who helped her change the potion advised her. Her mother nodded. And when she returned and changed the bottle, a week later she left the pack.
Now that she has returned, she wants to see how effective the new potion is on her brother. She rushes to his office.
“Jax! Do you miss me?” She asked excitedly as she opened the door.
“Ah! Welcome,” Jax replied her without looking up.
“Are you not excited to see me?”
“And what made you think so?” He asked. He put a bookmark on the page he is reading, and closed the book.
“You don’t sound excited,” she accused him.
“Really? Is that your reason? What am I supposed to sound like. A five year old wolf?” He asked her.
“It doesn’t matter. Come here,” she went close to him. She hugged him while he was still sitting. She pecked him.
“How is mother?” Alpha Jax asked.
“Mother is enveloped in the spiritual realm. She is pure and clean. She is well and alive. Oh! And she is still wild and scary as ever,” Lily laughed.
“That’s good,” Alpha Jax replied. He looked away from her. Lily was expecting him to do or say something that would prove the dramatic change she expects from him. He did not do anything. He is just her brother that she always knew.
“I bring glad tidings from the priestess,” Ava said.
“What glad tidings?”
“I don’t know exactly what it is, but she said we should be expecting some sort of history changing event,” Lily reported.
“Hmmm.”
“She said it will be good. Listen, this is how she said it. ‘go back to your pack, daughter of the Alpha. You and your brother should expect some events, that would change the course of history. And be at ease, they are glad tidings'” Lily reported. Alpha Jax nodded his head.
“May it come to us with ease,” Alpha Jax prayed.
“Amen!”
“How has been the pack so far?” Lily asked.
“Surviving. I am still ruling them the best I can. There are those who still fear me, there are those who love me. And there are those who wants to kill me. Both within my vurr and outside. Within the pack and outside,” Alpha Jax narrated.
“Seriously? Can’t you just say things are fine?” Lily frowned at him.
“And those slaves of yours. How do they treat you?”
“They… they do their duty. They make me happy, and I forget about my sorrows,” Alpha Jax stammered. Lily wondered why. He sounds like someone who is worried about something. She did not want to pressure him. She felt maybe she will not see if he has changed or not. After all, he is always treating her like the sister she is. Lily knows she has to go and meet Ava.
“Well, that’s good,” she said. She smiled for a bit and sat down. She did not initiate any conversation and neither did Alpha Jax. After few minutes, she announced that she is about to go.
“Oh! Alright,” he sighed.
Lily wlft him and went to Ava’s room. When she knocked, it took Ava a while to open the door. Lily saw a dozing Ava.
“Oh my goodness!” Ava jumped and ran towards Lily.
“Hey Ava!” Lily screamed.
“I miss you,” Ava laughed.
“Oh my goodness. It’s so good to see you,” Ava greeted.
“Oh! You have no idea how much I have been anticipating seeing you. I miss you too,” Lily said and rushed to her bed. Both of them exchanged pleasantries. Ava tried to get Lily something to drink. Lily denied it and urged Ava to come sit by her.
“I have gist for you, and I have questions for you,” Lily said.
“Okay queen, let’s hear them,” Ava pleaded.
“First, see the priestess at where I went said something good is going to happen around here soon, and that it’s going to change the course of history,” Lily announced.
“What is it?”
“I don’t know the exact thing, but I am guessing it might have to do with my brother. Maybe it’s both of you. And that brings me to my question. How has he been recently?” Lily asked.
“Surprisingly, your brother has been normal. Well, in all honesty, he hasn’t been especially rude or treat me like he use to. You won’t believe just yesterday, I saw him and I could feel him being shy of me,” Ava said.
“Good! He didn’t call you for usual sex too right?”
“He doesn’t and of I go to him, I never meet him at his office,” Ava narrated.
“That’s good. Listen, one of the things added in the potion is that before he regain himself, he should stop maltreating you. I think my brother is going back to his normal self,” Lily said and smiled. She looked at Ava too. Ava has a smile on. Lily likes it. She wants Ava to always smile. No matter what it is.
