Chapter 652: Isabella Turner’s Thoughts

“Shawn Roach, do you not have any sense of decency?” Kenelm Wraith’s face darkened. “Decency? Haha, Kenelm Wraith, one can eat a meal messily, but words cannot be spoken carelessly. Do I owe you any decency? You need to understand this. From start to finish, I have shown no mercy towards you.” Shawn Roach sneered.
Thinking to himself, just when he had once again offended that one person without finding an opportunity to pledge loyalty, this chance had come.
“Men, arrest them.” Shawn Roach waved his hand and gave the order.
Immediately, people surrounded them. At that moment, cries echoed from outside the door. A guard turned back, his face turned pale as he reported to Kenelm Wraith, “Master, they are serious. They are slaughtering our brothers outside.”
“What?” Kenelm Wraith’s face paled. He then looked at Shawn Roach, shocked by the brutality he was capable of.
Shawn Roach smirked, watching Kenelm Wraith. This was what he had brought upon himself.
“Let’s go.” Kenelm Wraith and the others forcefully charged out.
However, Shawn Roach’s group did not use their full strength for a couple of reasons. One, they were challenging opponents, and killing them would cause unrest in Yu Mountain City. Two, what about that particular person? These guys were prey for that person.
Afterward, Kenelm Wraith and his group returned to the Wraith family with injuries. As soon as they arrived home, Kenelm Wraith angrily smashed his favorite teapot on the ground into pieces.
Then, catching his breath, Kenelm Wraith ordered, “Inform the five major families to contact their superiors. This person is not simple. Notify Hadden White that the Wraith family is in trouble.”
Hadden White. A powerful force in the northern part of West State, revered like a White Tiger, known for its domineering and ruthless behavior.
Not many dared to provoke Hadden White in West State.
And this was the backing behind the Wraith family.
Yu Mountain City’s unique geographical location, rich in jade, attracted a large number of people each year for excavation and stone gambling, earning massive profits. Therefore, each major power in West State supported forces in Yu Mountain City with the five major families leading the way.
Other families existed, but none could match the five major families.
“Yes,” Joseph Wraith gritted his teeth. Notifying Hadden White meant that the Wraith family could not handle the situation on their own. They needed the higher-ups to come down and solve the problem for them.
He had not expected that they would have to notify Hadden White for just one person.
“Also, before the arrival of Hadden White’s superiors, mobilize all of the Wraith family’s forces. If we can’t eliminate that guy, let’s destroy his pathetic company.” Kenelm Wraith said darkly.
At least this would show Hadden White’s superiors that they were not idle. They were taking action.
“Yes,” Joseph Wraith left.
Destroying Isabella’s company would be easy. And when Hadden White’s superiors arrived, eliminating that guy would also be a walk in the park.
That was their plan.
However, when the Wraith family was surrounded by the police station, and even family head Kenelm Wraith barely escaped, the news spread, causing a stir in Yu Mountain City. They had never expected that someone would make the police station’s chief go to such lengths to protect them, even resorting to gunfire and extreme measures.
Early in the morning, Isabella Turner got up, wearing a red nightgown. Her slender legs, delicate waist, and natural beauty were captivating even without makeup. Different from Elise Houry, Isabella Turner was young, in her twenties.
Upon receiving the news, she was shocked. “The chief of Yu Mountain City, in order to not offend him, would go to such lengths. Did I underestimate him?”
Isabella Turner stepped out with dark circles under her eyes, feeling some insomnia due to the events of the previous day. But she pushed the thoughts aside. What concerned her was whether she had underestimated Robin Bailey. She had thought winning was a one-in-a-million chance, but now, it seemed more likely.
“Did I miss an opportunity?” Isabella Turner muttered to herself. She had always hoped to fail but couldn’t escape the idea of chasing after what had slipped through her fingers. But now, maybe she had found a treasure.
“No, no, Isabella, you can’t think like this. Yu Mountain City is not so simple. You’ve grown up here, you know what Yu Mountain City represents. The five major families all have backers. That guy may challenge the five major families, but that doesn’t mean he can take on their backers. Yes, that makes sense. Isabella, you can’t hold onto hope.” Isabella Turner successfully convinced herself.
After all, the chances of success were slim, and hoping for too much would only bring despair. So, she couldn’t afford to have high hopes from the beginning. She had to accept failure.
So, even when the incidents with Robin Bailey attacking the Turner family and the police station did not shake her resolve. Success was impossible. She was just struggling in vain.
At that moment, Robin Bailey also stepped out. As Isabella Turner continued to think about the situation, she suddenly remembered something in the kitchen. Startled, she turned around abruptly and crashed into a very sturdy chest.
“Ah…” Isabella Turner instinctively touched her head, feeling a bit wronged. When she looked up and saw Robin Bailey, her face turned red, and she immediately ran off.
In the kitchen, catching her breath, blushing slightly, she murmured to herself, “So, this is the chest of a man. Indeed, very hard. The books were right. But it feels different.”
As the flower vase of the Turner family, Isabella Turner had had little contact with men growing up because that made her more valuable. So, Isabella Turner had never been in such close contact with a man. Although very firm, she felt something different.
“Um, breakfast.” Isabella Turner quickly prepared breakfast and brought it out. The flush on her face had subsided, her composure restored.
“Your cooking is good,” Robin Bailey complimented after taking a bite. He did not mention the events of last night to avoid awkwardness, knowing they would have to spend some time together.
“By the way, I never asked you, what’s your name? Boss.” Isabella Turner suddenly remembered. Even though she could keep calling him boss, she still wanted to know his name.
