Chapter 651 Kenelm Wraith: “Shawn Roach, are you serious?”

At this moment, the Wraith family exuded a gloomy atmosphere, with everyone wearing an unpleasant expression. The news had already spread, and it was impossible for the Wraith family to keep it secret, considering everyone had been severely injured, with limbs severed on average.
Just then, a Rolls-Royce pulled up at the entrance, and Abbott Turner stepped out, his expression equally grim.
The Turner family was now in a similar situation to the Wraith family.
“The head of the Turner family.”
Upon seeing Abbott Turner, members of the Wraith family bowed their heads.
They all knew that Abbott Turner was here to see Kenelm Wraith.
Entering the hall, they saw Kenelm Wraith surrounded by four stretchers, three of which held the bodies of guards, and the fourth contained Darell Wraith, gravely injured almost to the point of death.
But still clinging to life.
Kenelm Wraith’s face was as dark as ink, not uttering a word.
Joseph Wraith, who had already lost an arm, stood beside him, also wearing a dark expression and remaining silent.
The atmosphere was heavy.
“What’s the next step?”
Abbott Turner sighed and asked.
“Father… help me… seek revenge…”
With his last breath, Darell Wraith heard someone speaking and opened his bloody eyes, uttering a pitiful plea.
Kenelm Wraith, his face dark as he spoke, “First, we need to determine the identity of that person. Let’s go, pay a visit to the police station.”
They investigated that person, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t find a trace.
As if the person had appeared out of thin air.
This made them feel uneasy, and at present, the only person who knew anything was the chief of police station, as he must have been fully aware due to the previous incident’s severity.
The five major families held considerable influence in Yu Mountain City.
They needed to go there, get answers, and then take appropriate action.
“Alright.”
Abbott Turner agreed.
Soon, the two of them, accompanied by members of the Wraith and Turner families, arrived at the police station. As for why Chief Shawn Roach was working there in the middle of the night, he had been scared by Robin Bailey’s actions.
“Find out everything! Dig up the ancestors of these individuals, damn it, how dare you provoke such big shots. Even if they aren’t important figures, arbitrarily abusing your power is a serious crime.”
In the interrogation room, Shawn Roach looked at the several city management officials and the hooligan with increasing anger.
He was the chief, and in reality, these matters shouldn’t have been his concern.
But the incident with Robin Bailey had shaken him to the core. He had nearly fallen out of his chair upon hearing the news. Last time, he’d been reprimanded for his subordinates’ lax behavior towards a certain individual.
The resulting comment, “You, as the chief, are quite overbearing,” had left him terrified, causing him sleepless nights, fearing he would be arrested and thrown in prison.
Today, he had come to work with dark circles under his eyes.
However, all day had passed without anyone coming to see him, which had put his mind slightly at ease. He thought that maybe the person involved had let him off the hook. But, much to his surprise, he had just finished dealing with a group of cemetery officials when the city management team had shown up again.
It nearly scared him to death.
After learning of the situation, he felt like crying. None of it was the other person’s fault; it was these troublemakers causing a stir. If Dudley hadn’t intervened, things might have escalated out of control. Even with Dudley’s intervention, the individual had still expressed disappointment in Yu Mountain City.
This made Shawn Roach nervous.
Someone’s life was at stake.
“You people, that person was kneeling peacefully, what did he do to provoke you? If you couldn’t move him, we could overlook that, but bringing in the city management? And you, the head of the city management team, aiming a gun at him, have you lost your mind? Tell me, what did he do to deserve this treatment?”
Shawn Roach yelled at them.
What did he do to deserve this?
Everyone glanced at each other, realizing none of them had a legitimate reason to mistreat the person in question. The hooligan had been the main instigator, and all eyes turned to him, silently asking why he had pushed the innocent individual.
The hooligan felt his scalp tingle under their accusing gaze.
He wanted to cry.
“Can I just say, I was passing by and didn’t like the look of him, so I wanted to mess with him, is that okay?”
The hooligan weakly responded.
“I can’t take this anymore.”
Shawn Roach felt like he was about to spit blood upon hearing this. He turned off the monitor, left the room, shut the door behind him, and the sound of the hooligan’s screams could be heard emanating from inside.
Everyone detained alongside the hooligan also wanted to hit him.
He had needlessly dragged them into this mess.
“This is infuriating, how could someone like him exist? Just wanting to mess with someone for no reason and resorting to violence.”
Shawn Roach came out feeling dejected.
Just then, one of his subordinates reported, “Chief, Kenelm Wraith and Abbott Turner have arrived.”
“Why are these people here? Tell them I’m not available.”
Shawn Roach waved his hand dismissively.
He didn’t want to see those people.
“Shawn Roach, we’ve known each other for a long time, is this how you treat us?”
At this point, Kenelm Wraith and Abbott Turner had already entered. As family heads, they naturally had skilled bodyguards and easily bypassed the police station’s security.
They thought they could resolve the matter once inside.
After all, the five major families had known Shawn Roach for many years and understood his temper.
However, upon seeing them, Shawn Roach immediately shouted, “Guards, surround them! How dare they trespass the police station! Also, call the military district; someone is attacking the police station, we need to defend the city.”
“…”
Everyone was stunned.
Was he serious?
Not just Kenelm Wraith and Abbott Turner, but even the police station’s personnel were taken aback. One person next to Shawn Roach spoke up, “Um, Chief, are you sure about this?”
“Of course, hurry up.”
Shawn Roach smacked the officer on the back of his head, prompting him to move faster.
At the same time, a sense of excitement flickered in his eyes.
This was a golden opportunity. His men had once again annoyed that military officer, and he had been considering how to make amends. Now was his chance; both the Wraith and Turner families were on that officer’s hit list.
And he hadn’t found an opportunity to distance himself from them.
This was it.
Instantly, the police station sprung into action, organizing a group armed with assault rifles and AKs aimed at them, with snipers targeting their heads. There were even five or six rocket launchers positioned in the rear.
The entire station was filled with the smell of gunpowder.
“Master, there are experts among them.”
A bodyguard behind Kenelm Wraith reported.
Of course, a police station would have experts.
A commander.
Facing so many gun barrels, Kenelm Wraith’s expression turned extremely grim. He was in danger of being riddled with bullets, and he could see that the authorities had indeed called the military district; they might send reinforcements soon.
Fear gripped him.
