“What are you going to do? What are you going to do?” Long was terrified. He watched as Robin picked up the steel rod that he had previously wielded and started to swing it between his legs.
“I said, pay the protection fee, or you won’t leave here in one piece today,” Robin swayed the steel rod.
“I’ll pay, I’ll pay,” Long instantly capitulated. Nothing was more important than his own life.
He hurriedly pulled out his wallet. After a while, he said, “Um… brother, I left in a hurry today and only brought a thousand dollars…”
He gave a clumsy smile, hoping Robin would let him off. Robin, however, blew on the steel rod, tested its sharpness, and slowly said, “I wonder if hitting you once will be enough, or if I should hit you a few more times?”
Hearing these words, Long’s face drastically changed. One strike was already unbearable, let alone multiple ones.
“Brother, wait a moment, I’ll gather the money immediately,” Long, terrified, rushed to his fellow gang members, searching their pockets. “Brothers, it’s an emergency, quickly give me your money.”
After quite a while, he managed to gather ten thousand dollars.
“That’s all we have got, brother. We haven’t collected much protection fee recently,” Long, bending over, handed over the money to Robin in an appeasing manner.
“Alright, scram,” Robin took the ten thousand dollars and didn’t make things difficult for them.
“Thank you, thank you, brother,” the gang members thanked Robin profusely, then bolted away.
“Alright, this ten thousand is yours,” Robin tossed the ten thousand dollars to Kim.
“Thank you, thank you,” Kim thanked Robin, his eyes welling up with tears. He didn’t care how the money had been obtained. Without money, these children would starve to death.
However, at this moment, Long returned.
“What are you doing back here? Looking for a beating?” this time, Rosey Chambers stood up bravely, her mouth pouted in a fierce yet cute manner.
“No, the Roach family’s search party is coming. Tell your niece to hide quickly,” Long said before running off again. Despite being a gang member, Long still had some sense of loyalty and honor; he returned to warn them.
Kim and Elane’s faces changed color at the news. Kim quickly pulled Rosey Chambers, “Quick, hide inside. Don’t come out, don’t come out.”
“Ah… okay,” Rosey Chambers, somewhat panicked, hurried inside.
A minute later, a sleazy middle-aged man walked in, followed by thirty people. Unlike Dandan’s members, these men looked well-trained and formidable.
“Don’t make a fuss, these guys are from the Roach family. They are very tough, and if we deal with one group, there will be another,” Kim pleaded, standing in front of Robin.
“Alright,” Robin sighed. It wasn’t the time to reveal his identity yet.
Soon after, the oily-faced man scanned the crowd, and upon not finding any pretty girls, his eyes flashed with disappointment. This made him unhappy, and when he was unhappy, he liked to make a scene. After all, he was a member of the Roach family, and no one dared to mess with him.
However, at this moment, Kim, with a humble smile on his face and the ten thousand dollars in his hand, stepped forward, “Sir, we don’t have any criminals here, believe us.”
“Hmm… indeed, you look honest and simple, not like a bad person,” the oily-faced man, weighing the money in his hand, immediately changed his tone, “Kid, your attitude is good. I was planning to kill a few people, but I’ll let you go this time.”
With a hearty laugh, he left, his team following him. Only after they had left did Kim breathe a sigh of relief.
“Big brother, we really can’t afford to offend these guys. If we can solve problems with money, let’s use money. And if it weren’t for Long coming back to inform us, if that guy saw Rosey, even money wouldn’t help,” Kim pleaded.
“Okay,” Robin sighed. It wasn’t time to reveal his identity yet.
At this moment, Jeff Reczek returned and reported to Robin, “Sir, I’ve found Miss Hall’s whereabouts. She’s in the mansion of Tiger Gang’s leader, Oliver.”
“Tiger Gang? What a childish name,” Robin shook his head and chuckled.
Despite the childish name, a force that could coexist with the Roach family in St. Sunday had to be powerful. Unfortunately, they were not dealing with an ordinary person; they were dealing with Robin. Whether it was the Tiger Gang, the Roach family, or the entire St. Sunday, they were not enough.
