“On the seventh floor.”
Rosey Chambers took Robin to the seventh floor of the hospital.
Robin glanced at the sign.
SVIP Suite.
Rosey Chambers rarely came here, and she wasn’t familiar with this kind of large hospital. She didn’t know that the SVIP Suite was like the presidential suite of a hotel.
It was one of the most expensive rooms in the entire hospital.
The price mentioned before, thousands of dollars per day, was an underestimate. In this location, it probably cost tens of thousands per day.
“What’s the story with this Favian Bird?”
Robin asked from the side.
“A story? There’s no story, he’s a classmate of ours. He’s usually very nice to me, but there’s one thing I don’t like about him-he always tries to take advantage of me. I scolded him last time, but after that, he became better and has been quite a gentleman ever since. He’s a really nice person.”
Rosey Chambers said with a smile.
In her eyes, people in this world will always make mistakes. As long as they correct their errors, everything would be fine.
Just like now, he helped her a lot.
“Alright.”
Robin didn’t argue with her.
“Let’s go.”
Robin waved his hand, signaling for Rosey Chambers to continue walking.
They quickly reached the end of the hallway, where there was a luxurious room that didn’t even look like a hospital room. Upon entering, it looked like a hospital room again, with all kinds of sophisticated equipment.
It appeared very professional.
“Grandma.”
An old woman in her seventies, her face wrinkled and pale, lay on the bed with half her hand exposed, receiving an IV drip.
Rosey Chambers called out to her and went to check on her.
But the old lady’s eyes remained closed.
“Rosey, Grandma is still unconscious.”
Beside the bed, a young man dressed in a suit, with fair skin and a middle part, looking quite handsome, was comforting Rosey Chambers.
“Favian Bird, thank you.”
Rosey Chambers looked at Favian Bird with a grateful expression.
“It’s nothing, everything will be alright.”
Favian Bird stepped forward, opened his arms as if to hug and comfort Rosey Chambers.
However, Rosey Chambers stepped back and avoided him.
A cold light flashed in Favian Bird’s eyes, but it disappeared the next second.
“Um… How is my grandma’s condition?” Rosey Chambers asked weakly.
“It’s quite serious.”
Favian Bird’s expression became more solemn.
“Ah… How serious?” Rosey Chambers asked.
“Why don’t we let a professional doctor explain it to you.”
Favian Bird waved his hand, and a doctor entered from the side.
“Hello, I am Dr. Scales Styles from St. Sunday’s First Medical College and a doctor at this hospital.”
The doctor showed his badge to prove his authority.
“Hello.” Rosey Chambers replied weakly.
“Your grandmother’s condition is not optimistic, really, it’s very bad. She has been in a coma for three days, and she needs surgery by tomorrow at the latest. However, this surgery is very expensive.”
Dr. Scales Styles had a serious and solemn expression.
“How expensive is it?”
Rosey Chambers asked, then turned to Robin with an unusually assertive tone: “Could you… give it to me?”
She used a strong tone to say the softest words.
“Here.”
Robin handed it to her directly.
“Doctor, I have a thousand dollars here. I don’t know if it’s enough, but if it’s not, I’ll find a way to earn more and work part-time.”
Rosey Chambers pleaded.
“A thousand dollars… Miss Chambers, do you know how much this surgery costs? Ten million. Your thousand dollars won’t even get you into the operating room, and your grandmother will be gone.”
Dr. Scales Styles’ face changed, and he threw the money back to Rosey Chambers: “I’m telling you, you have one day at most. If you can’t pay the money by tomorrow, your grandma can just wait to die.”
The last phrase ‘wait to die’ was said very heavily.
It seemed as if she was going to die any moment.
After the doctor left, Rosey Chambers stood there in a daze, her eyes unfocused. Ten million was an astronomical figure for her, even saving a thousand dollars took her a long time. But now, she needed ten million.
“Grandma.”
Rosey Chambers looked at her grandmother with hollow eyes, and a tear rolled down her cheek.
“Rosey.”
Favian Bird saw this and stepped forward, intending to embrace the tearful Rosey Chambers. However, he didn’t expect that even in this situation, Rosey Chambers would take a step back, avoiding his embrace.
It had become a reflex.
A cold glint flashed in Favian Bird’s eyes, but it was gone the next second. He looked at Rosey Chambers with a gentle expression, “Rosey, it’s okay. I have a solution.”
“Favian Bird, you have a solution?”
Hearing this news, Rosey Chambers turned her head and looked at Favian Bird.
“Yes. But it might be a bit difficult for you.”
A reluctant expression appeared on Favian Bird’s face.
“Difficult?”
“Yes, I’m not the eldest son of the Bird family, so I don’t have inheritance rights. But I am a branch family member, and there’s a rule in our family. Branch family members, once married, will have ten million in liquid capital. After that, they must have offspring, otherwise, they have to pay back the ten million.”
Favian Bird said seriously.
This rule was indeed in place, a rule set by large families to expand their influence.
“Marriage?”
Rosey Chambers was stunned.
“Yes, Rosey, apart from you, there’s no other girl I like. To marry another girl would be worse than death for me. But for your grandmother’s sake, I must get married.”
Favian Bird pretended to be doing this for Rosey Chambers.
He was almost on the verge of tears.
However, it made one thing clear-if she wanted to save her grandmother, she had to be with him. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be possible.
“I…”
Rosey Chambers was shocked by this news, feeling at a loss.
Favian Bird took out a ring and stepped forward, his eyes full of affection, “Rosey, you’ve always known that I’ve liked you since college. Now, it’s not just for my personal feelings, but also for your grandmother. Your grandmother raised you, and you must remember this favor.”
Favian Bird took a step forward, and Rosey Chambers was about to instinctively take a step back.
But after hearing the latter half of Favian Bird’s words, she suddenly stopped, not daring to move anymore. Favian Bird was right-if she took a step back, her grandmother’s life would be gone.
She couldn’t retreat.
Seeing Rosey Chambers freeze in place, a lustful glint flashed in Favian Bird’s eyes. He had always wanted to possess her, as Rosey Chambers was the well-known pure goddess of their school.
But he had always been rejected.
Today, however, he would finally possess this goddess, and not only that, he could do whatever he wanted to her as he wished. He believed that no matter how he toyed with her, Rosey Chambers would not refuse now.
Because her grandmother’s life was in his hands.
However, just as he was about to embrace Rosey Chambers, an old voice sounded from the side, “Ahem, Rosey, come to your grandma.”
Favian Bird: “???”
