Eleanor Manor.
“Mr. Bailey, the Brighton family panicked last night. They spent a whole night checking your background but failed to find anything,” Jeff told Robin on the phone.
After all, Robin’s profile was confidential and kept in Forte Eastern, so they found nothing. If not, Kisia would have vanished long ago.
“Panicked?” Robin sneered and ended the call.
His purpose was to torture the top three influential families with death. They knew they would be dead soon but couldn’t do anything, so they were overwhelmed by fear before the day came.
They had ridden on his raw nerves and touched his rock bottom.
Leslie finished breakfast and asked coquettishly, “Dad, shall we go to the lake? Mom promised to take me there a long time ago, but she was always busy working.”
Leslie got up early in the morning. Although Eleanor Manor wasn’t small, as an energetic child, she got bored.
“I also want to go,” Fiona echoed. She widened her eyes while staring at Robin expectantly.
“Don’t you need to go to school today?” asked Robin.
“It’s the weekend, Dad.” Leslie made a face.
“All right,” Robin agreed.
He had served in the military for many years but hardly spent a weekend with his daughter. Besides, he was idle at the weekend.
Brotry Lagoon.
It was the most famous lake in Stillwater, with a beautiful landscape and fresh air. In the morning, visitors could even see some cranes.
Moreover, a famous princess in history had visited Brotry Lagoon before, which made the lake the most well-known in Kisia.
Leslie wore blue bibs, looking lovely. Holding Robin’s right hand, she grumbled, “Mom once told me about the princess seeing the lake. I longed to come here for a long time, but she never took me here.”
Fiona wore a dress, holding Robin’s left hand. The passersby always wanted to pinch her chubby cheeks.
Robin deliberately held their hands. If Fiona was missing, Nick would go nuts as Fiona was his only family. If he were still Instructor of Darkboard, he would definitely slaughter the whole city of Stillwater.
“Here we are, girls.” Robin smiled at them and looked around.
It was still early, so there were limited tourists. The lake was covered with a mist. It was a pleasant view.
Robin walked along the lake with the girls. They watched the cranes take off and land. Some cranes stood rooted to the spots while combing their features, looking pure and saint.
“Dad, can we feed the cranes? Just like how we fed the pigeons yesterday,” asked Leslie, blinking at Robin. Her glittering eyes reminded Robin of Elise.
Eleanor was a coastal city, so people could always feel the sea breezes. Pigeons and seagulls were frequently seen. Robin fed the pigeons with the girls on the seashore the previous afternoon.
They had a great time.
Fiona also looked up at Robin expectantly, wishing to feed the cranes.
“Unfortunately, I don’t think so.”
Robin shook his head, saying, “If a crane is fed by a human instead of looking for the food itself, it’ll lose its nature, making it suffer. It’s the same as a tiger losing his paws. If we tame the tiger and keep it in a cage all the time, it’ll become a cat instead.”
“I see.” The girls nodded obediently. Although they didn’t fully understand, they believed Robin’s words made sense.
“Ice cream!”
Suddenly, the girls noticed the ice cream sold in a store. Their eyes lit up, and they immediately dragged Robin over. Both kids were foodies, so the ice cream immediately became their focus.
“You two little foodies.” Robin chuckled, looking at them dotingly.
However, he didn’t let them down. They were supposed to come out for fun. Therefore, he bought ice cream for each of them.
The girls enjoyed it greatly.
Suddenly, Leslie let go of Robin’s hand and approached the lake. Fiona also followed her boldly.
Robin leisurely drifted behind them.
Standing on a rock, Leslie stared at the fishes and shrimps in the lake, her eyes full of curiosity. While she focused on them, a woman wearing branded outfits walked over.
She looked around and nodded in satisfaction. Seeing Leslie, she approached and cursed, “Go away, you little prick! Don’t stand here.” She even pushed Leslie away.
“Argh!”
Leslie was shocked and lost her balance. Thinking she might fall into the lake, she closed her eyes tightly.
However, someone dragged her down the rock, and she didn’t fall.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Robin. “Dad!” she held Robin immediately.
“Distance yourself from the lake in the future. No one could have saved you if I hadn’t been here.” Robin poked her nose tip while reminding her.
Then he turned around and stared daggers at the woman. “Please explain why you pushed my daughter?”
“She’s in my way.” Holding her arms across her chest, the woman added, “She squatted on the rock. I’m going to take some photos here. It’s her fault. Why can’t I push her away?”
“Besides, even if she fell into the water, it only meant she had lost her balance. You can’t blame me for it. How dare you ask me! How ridiculous! She’s safe and sound, isn’t she?”
The woman darted at Robin, only to find he wore common outfits. Instantly, she despised him.
“Go away! I want to take photos now.” She flicked her head to send Robin away as if he were a fly.
However, Robin stood motionlessly with a sneer. “My daughter’s fault? You’re indeed good at confusing right and wrong.”
“So what? What do you want? Think I’m here alone?” the woman sneered ironically.
Waving in a direction, she yelled, “Come here, Preston! A man wants to bully me. Hurry!”
A young man strode towards them.
As soon as he arrived, the woman clung to him seamlessly with a triumphant smile. “Do you know who my boyfriend is? Preston Conwyn, the oldest son of the Conwyn family. His father is the Tiger of Stillwater.”
“Have you wet your pants?”
