Chapter 159 Robin Disclosed His Identity

Book:The Warlord Is Back Published:2024-5-31

If David told others Primus had hidden his identity and become a live-in son-in-law of the Houry family, he didn’t think people would believe him.
However, it had happened for real.
“I did it for saving your life. Believe it or not?”
With his hand behind his back, Robin looked at Marcus. “Seven years ago, David Houry colluded some people to drug my wife. With Gordon Houry’s permission and power, he took over Lands Corporation successfully. However, Lands Corporation used to be a big enterprise but broke down overnight. The Meyer Group took the chance to grab a chuck of its business and survived your crisis.”
“I’m back to Stillwater to check this matter. As I know, once my wife’s career becomes better, you’ll want to kill her again. However, the evidence of the incident seven years ago has been cleaned. I could only use David Houry to fish. If I had exposed my identity ahead of time, I’m sure you would have killed David Houry already.”
“If you did so, no one else would know you were the manipulator and no evidence would be found.”
While speaking, Robin drifted to Marcus, gazing at him without blinking. “Am I right?”
“Correct.”
Marcus calmed down before death. He realized he couldn’t escape from Primus’ hands, so he replied darkly, “If you had exposed your identity earlier, I would have sent my men to kill David Houry to avoid further trouble.”
David shuddered visibly, realizing Robin had saved his life.
“Therefore, I have a deep grudge against you.”
Robin reached out to pinch Marcus’s neck. “You shouldn’t have wanted to kill my wife and daughter. They are my most precious treasures.”
“Argh… Robin Bailey, do you think I was the only one… doing the thing back then… Elise Houry has taken back Lands Corporation… It’s not good… The three families back then will still set her up… Elise Houry will die… I’m sure… You still have a secret in our hands… We won’t tell you what it is… Never…” Marcus laughed while twitching.
“A secret?”
Frowning, Robin loosened his hand and wanted to ask Marcus about the secret. However, dark blood streamed from Marcus’ mouth. Marcus was dead.
“He took a poison and committed suicide.”
Robin let go of his neck. Marcus fell to the floor and stopped breathing.
“You could have exchanged your survival with the secret. However, you gave up. You gave up the fame and wealth and everyone in your family to keep the secret.”
Robin muttered, “I’m curious to find out what the secret is. You’d rather poison yourself than disclose it.”
“Three families? Who are they? Why are they purposely against Lands Corporation? What’s been hiding in Stillwater?”
“Jeff?” Robin called.
Jeff stepped out from the dark behind him. “Yes, General Bailey.”
“I want you to check the matters and find out the secret, especially the three families. See who has contacted the Meyer family recently,” Robin ordered.
“OK, General Bailey,” Jeff replied.
Robin was about to leave. However, David hurriedly held his leg and burst into tears. “Robin Bailey, I’m one of the Houry family. I’m Elise’s cousin. You can’t kill me. If you do, Elise will be mad at you. Please have mercy on me. Please!”
He didn’t want to die, so he mentioned Elise for survival.
Unfortunately, Robin cast a steely glance at him. “One of the Houry family? When my wife was kicked out, why didn’t you insist she was one of the Houry family? Her cousin? When you sent my wife to Andreas Winfield and colluded with the Meyer family, why didn’t you think of her as your cousin?”
“She might be mad, but if I don’t tell her about your death, she won’t be mad.”
“Pull this jerk away, Wolfman Guards!” Robin commanded.
A guard dragged David away. David desperately wailed and wept, wetting his pants. However, Robin didn’t change his mind at all.
David deserved to die. Robin didn’t wrong him.
Under the bright light from the chandelier, Robin stood upright while putting the mask back on.
Then he strode out of the house and vanished in the dark.
Behind him, the Meyers wept and begged for mercy. However, Wolfman Guards didn’t stop punishing them as Primus was always a man of his word.
That night, the Meyer family was destroyed.
The news caused a sensation in Stillwater. The mysterious man named Mr. X eliminated the Winfield family first. After he destroyed the Meyer family, only eight influential families were left in Stillwater. Instantly, Mr. X became the focus.
It was a sleepless night. Five influential families in Stillwater stayed up worriedly. The three most powerful families, however, kept calm and quiet. However, all people realized Stillwater would become chaotic soon.
Mr. X officially announced his existence.

Elise hadn’t finished the statement at the police station until 1 A. M. When she was about to find Robin, a policeman told her Robin had gone home. Frowning, Elise muttered, “Why didn’t he wait for me? Is he mad at me?”
She had treated Robin coldly in the recent few days, so it was understandable that Robin was angry. A man had his dignity and pride, so Elise understood it.
“Forget it. I’ll go home and talk to him.”
Elise returned to Houry’s Villa. After searching every room, she failed to see Robin. However, Karen told her, “That brat didn’t come back home tonight. Honestly, isn’t it good? I don’t think he deserves my daughter…”
Karen started nagging again.
Elise ignored her but faintly felt that she had lost something precious.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Robin’s number.
As soon as the call was connected, she asked anxiously, “When will you come back home, Robin?”
“A few days later,” Robin answered.
‘A few days later?’
Elise was taken aback. Since Robin returned to Stillwater, he had never stayed out. However, she understood Robin must have been stimulated by her attitude in the past few days.
She also guessed Robin became anxious about the promise of making 400, 000 dollars in six months.
Elise wondered if he aimed to do some business while staying out for a few days. Thinking that he might break the law, she panicked. Hurriedly, she added, “Don’t worry about the money. We can find other ways. You can’t break the law. Please! Don’t rob a bank or do something evil. As long as you are alive, you can do anything.”
Only robbing a bank enabled him to gather 400, 000 dollars in five months.
Elise was frightened.
Robin fell into silence. Finally, he took off his mask and grinned, “OK. I got it.”
“You can’t break the law. Or I won’t talk to you for the rest of my life. How long exactly will you be busy? Tell me an answer.”
“Give me seven days.”
“OK.”
After ending the call, Elise roughly figured out something, feeling uneasy. Robin would be absent for seven days.
