“Yes, Mr. Meyer.”
A bodyguard stepped out. He was 6’5″ in a windbreaker. With a murderous gaze, he held a pistol, his thumbs full of callus.
Some guests recognized the bodyguard and exclaimed.
“This is Arthur Meyer. He used to be the bodyguard of a national leader. After retiring, he became my bodyguard. He encountered all kinds of killers over 10 times but never failed his task.”
“Arthur Meyer used to be a national leader’s bodyguard. How was he hired by Marcus Meyer?”
“I guess Marcus must have paid him well. It’s said Arthur Meyer is greedy. He asked for a lot of money after accomplishing each task. He’s competent but expensive.”
“Mr. X shouldn’t be able to win against him. He’s doomed.”
The discussions shocked others.
Arthur Meyer was a professional bodyguard, after all.
“The brat is so dead.”
David shook his head with sympathy in his eyes as he knew how competent Arthur was.
As a professional bodyguard, Arthur didn’t waste any time. He raised the pistol and pointed it against Robin’s head when everyone was off-guard.
“Go to Hell!”
Before he pulled the trigger, Robin raised his head. “You’d better stop pointing the gun against me. The last one doing so had died long ago.”
He grinned at Arthur.
He talked and looked gentle, but he sent a chill down Arthur’s spine.
Instantly, Arthur couldn’t pull the trigger at all. According to his years of battle experience, his intuition told him he was in danger and might lose his life. His pupils constricted, and he flinched in fear.
Gritting his teeth, Arthur said, “I cannot win against him, Marcus Meyer.”
The stress from Robin had frightened him. If they fought, Arthur believed he would be dead.
“He’s asking for more money.”
The onlookers smiled. The situation they talked about earlier happened for real. They thought it was just a rumor, but much to their surprise, Arthur pretended to be unable to win against Mr. X, aiming to ask for more money.
They all thought he was indeed greedy.
“Arthur Meyer, I’ll give you extra 600, 000 dollars to kill all of them.”
Marcus also thought Arthur raised the salary under the current circumstance, so he frowned unhappily. However, he had to rely on Arthur to solve the problem, so he didn’t mind adding another 600, 000 dollars.
Anyway, he wanted Arthur to kill the so-called legendary man named Mr. X.
“600, 000 Dollars? Even if you gave me six million, I’ll also quit,” Arthur refused loudly, shaking his head.
The next second, he rushed towards the manor gate. “I won’t meddle in this matter. Please excuse me.”
He only wished to escape without caring about the money and glory anymore.
However, Robin’s sharp gaze fell on him. “Did I allow you to leave?”
“You can’t stop me if I want to leave,” Arthur roared.
He knew he couldn’t win against Mr. X, but no one could stop him from escaping.
“Really?” Robin muttered. His mask made others’ feet cold.
“One more step…”
Arthur was only a step away from the door, excitement flashing through his eyes. However, the next second, a man in black appeared in front of him.
He dressed the same as the four men carrying the coffin.
Evidently, he was one of Mr. X’s subordinates.
“Think you can stop me, brat? You are too young. Your boss might be able to do it,” Arthur chuckled. He pulled out a dagger and waved it towards the man in black.
He thought Mr. X was way too naive by sending his subordinate to stop him.
However, Arthur froze the next second, and his expression was stiff. Gaping the soldier’s sword in his chest, he muttered in disbelief, “How… How could you react so fast?”
“Puff!”
He spat a mouthful of blood. Even though he was dying, he couldn’t understand why Mr. X’s subordinate could react THAT fast.
Although Arthur had won in all his tasks, he had never moved as fast as the subordinate did.
“He’s one of the elites in my guard team. How can a person like you who can do nothing but eat and drink win against him?”
Robin ordered coldly, “Wolfman Guards!”
“Yes!”
More than 30 men in black entered the hall, kneeling to Robin on one knee. They all looked stern and determined. Their thunderous answer shocked all people on the scene.
“Clear out!” Robin uttered after glancing around the hall.
“Roger!”
Each Wolfman Guard held a soldier’s sword, which sparkled under the bright light from the chandelier. They surrounded the hall seamlessly.
“Those who are not from the Meyer family, please leave ASAP,” a thin Wolfman Guard said while glancing at the guests.
“OK. OK.”
“We’re leaving now. We have nothing to do with this matter.”
Many people from small families dared not to stay after watching Arthur be butchered. However, most influential families stayed calm.
If they were scared away, their reputations would be ruined.
“Think I’ll leave just because you said so? I’m Layton Holland. How could I be obedient to you?”
A young man from a rich family stepped out. He was almost 6′, wearing luxurious clothes and a costly Rolex watch, looking proud.
“This is Layton Holland, son of the Holland family. He’s just returned to town after studying abroad. I heard he gained double head’s degrees from Lokerren University, one of the top three universities globally.”
“It’s said he was good in combat. When he stayed in Stillwater, he won some martial arts prizes.”
“He’s really brave. I can tell he’s a talent. The Stillwater Holland family will rise again.”
The rest onlookers discussed with each other.
They dared not to leave or talk, but Layton stepped out.
“Humph!” Layton sneered.
In fact, he wasn’t defending the Meyer family but showing off himself. He had just returned to Stillwater from abroad, so he was infamous. Taking this opportunity, he could impress others.
In that case, all people in Stillwater would know he was an outstanding, brave man.
Layton shook his sleeves and added, “Our Holland family won’t get involved in your business, but no one can restrain me today. I…”
