Robin dialed John’s number. “Has Landview had any cooperation with your company recently?”
“Yes. Ms. Houry used her shares of Lands Corporation to loan 40 million dollars from my company,” John answered.
Robin ended the call.
Although Lands Corporation had limited fluid capital, it was an old company with a good reputation, worth over 200 million dollars. Since Elise had loaned 40 million, she could afford to buy it out.
However, it only happened in a normal situation.
“Mr. Bailey, my men informed me Mrs. Bailey appeared in the stock exchange with a large number of funds,” Jim reported.
“Let’s go.”
Robin went to the stock exchange with Jim immediately.
The Robin-Sophia Group was an enterprise, so they had a private box in the stock exchange. Standing from the box on the second floor, Robin could see Elise in the lobby with a single glimpse.
He watched the stock table. Lands Corporation’s stock kept declining, and Landview Inc. Crazily did bargain-hunting. So far, Elise had gained 40% of the shares.
In other words, Elise had more than half of Lands Corporation but still lacked another part.
Suddenly, Elise called Robin on the phone.
“Hello, Elise?” Robin swiped to answer.
“Where are you?”
“In the Robin-Sophia Group.”
“Grandpa will celebrate his 80-year birthday today. He asked us to go to Houry House tonight.”
“No problem,” Robin agreed.
Elise hung up with a stern look. Tiredness was hidden in her eyes. She felt upset for treating her beloved man in this way.
However, she had to do so.
Earlier, Gordon called her and told her he surrendered. He asked her to attend his 80-year birthday banquet for the sake that he was old and gray.
The news delighted Elise, but she smelt something fishy as everything happened too smoothly. Therefore, she called Robin. Although she had decided to distance herself from him, he always gave her a sense of security, somehow.
She felt as if no one could hurt her as long as Robin was by her side.
“Banquet at night…” Robin muttered, his hands behind his back.
Shortly after, he called Timothy.
An hour later, Timothy arrived with a woman.
“Mr. Bailey, this is Melody House, Frank House’s younger sister. She works for me. Melody majored in business at the University of Stillwater. She’s competent. According to my investigation, she has never seen a boy,” Timothy said seriously.
“It’s you! The live-in son-in-law of the Houry family.”
The woman next to Timothy had a childish look. Her suit made her look spirited. She was holding a file folder.
Timothy asked her to work for someone in business, and she thought it must be a bigwig.
Much to her surprise, it was Robin, the famous live-in son-in-law.
Melody House was Nina’s close friend, so she knew how much Nina scorned her brother-in-law. Nina always scolded him as a worthless man. Once, Melody had seen Robin’s photo, so she recognized him immediately.
Robin still wore shabby clothes, but Melody could tell his temperament was different. He had straight eyebrows above his eagle-sharp eyes, standing upright. His every movement showed he was someone superior.
For some reason, he reminded Melody of a king.
If she hadn’t seen his photo before, she would have never believed this man was the worthless son-in-law of the Houry family.
“Do you know me?” Robin asked, ignoring Timothy’s implications.
It was good that Melody had no boyfriend, as she could concentrate on work.
“Nina told me about you before,” Melody answered in a low voice.
“I see.”
Robin shook his head, looking at Melody solemnly. “Has Timothy told you the situation? Are you willing to be my assistant?”
“Yes, I am.”
Melody nodded.
No matter what, Timothy went to talk to her personally. Besides, her older brother worked for Timothy, so she could never refuse him.
However, she could understand how Robin had hooked up with Timothy.
“All right. From now on, you are Mr. X’s only liaison. Only you can pass on my message. Here is your first task. Take this bank card with 200 million dollars.”
Robin pulled out a bank card and passed it to Melody.
“Mr. X?”
Melody’s expression changed. She wasn’t shocked by the 200 million dollars. As a business student, she knew even Timothy could easily give her 200 million dollars.
She was astonished by Mr. X.
In recent few days, Mr. X had raised mighty uproars in Stillwater. As soon as he showed up, he destroyed Andreas and his force. The influential Winfield family went to the dogs within one day.
Rumors had it that Mr. X was the Buosont family’s backer with a solid military base. Other families and companies were too frightened to provoke him.
Mr. X was also mysterious, and all citizens in Stillwater had wild guesses about him.
Melody was amazed the legendary Mr. X turned out to be Robin, the live-in son-in-law that was cursed by Nina every day.
“Am I understood?”
“Ah… Yes… Yes…”
Melody was still stunned, nodding vigorously. As a professional businesswoman, she calmed down slightly and asked, “Mr. Bailey, what shall I do with the money?”
“Offer Elise Houry this investment tonight. Help her buy out Lands Corporation,” Robin answered.
He believed the trap would be exposed tonight.
It was the proper time to help Elise gain back Lands Corporation.
People who had set her up seven years ago would also be exposed.
“OK, Mr. Bailey,” Melody immediately answered.
In the evening, Robin returned to Houry’s Villa. In the room. Elise showed him a man’s suit jacket. “I bought an Hermes suit for you. Try it on.”
“OK.”
Robin took off his clothes. Elise was taken aback as she saw all kinds of scars caused by knives, broadswords, swords, and bullets all over his body.
The most ferocious one was a centipede-liked scar from his neck to his lower abdomen.
Elise almost suffocated.
Even though she wanted to distance herself from him, she couldn’t repress her emotions at this moment. She had never seen him naked before. Walking up, she stroked the scars and asked with concern, “Do they hurt?”
“No.”
Robin shook his head slightly.
Since he had chosen to be a soldier, he had been prepared to die at any time. As Mr. Berger and Jeff had said, he experienced all brutal battles and faced life and death before becoming Primus.
In the military, he was known as “Suicidal Psycho”. In seven years, he was promoted from a new recruit to Primus, one of the most influential men in Kisia.
His fame had spread worldwide.
Everything he had done was for his wife, Elise.
