Robin, however, didn’t think anyone from the Houry family still had consciences.
“All right. If anything happens, I will call you. You could pick me up. Don’t worry, Robin. They dare not do anything to me,” Elise coaxed him.
“Ehn,” Robin replied with a grunt.
He was worried but had to nod his agreement as Elise insisted.
Elise chuckled, “You look loved right now.”
“Reward me with a kiss, then?”
“Eww! Shameless!”
Elise rolled her eyes at him, heading for the bathroom for a shower. However, her eyes were full of disappointment.
She could feel she had gradually fallen in love with Robin.
Unfortunately, they would part in five months.
She had loved Robin. The more intense her love became, the more they would suffer when separating. Leslie would probably shed tears.
However, Robin must keep his promise. If he failed to do it, he wouldn’t be a role model for Leslie. Elise didn’t think a lazy man without self-estimation deserved to be Leslie’s father. Therefore, she would accept divorcing him by then.
Therefore, Elise decided to hide her true feelings for Robin and still showed him she hadn’t loved him. After her love faded gradually, she wouldn’t suffer THAT much when divorcing him in five months.
Elise reminded her to have a try.
She felt sorry for herself, though. Finally, she had a husband and wanted to rely on him, but she had to divorce him shortly after.
She wondered what plan God had for her, heaving a sigh.
The following day, Elise went to work in Landview Inc. Robin also went to work as a security guard in the Robin-Sophia Group.
In the afternoon, Elise went to Houry House.
In Stillwater, the Houry family was famous, owning several hundred million dollars. A villa and its related area on the city’s east coast belonged to them.
Elise grew up in Houry House.
After arriving, Elise hesitated before entering, although she was familiar with the villa.
Memories of her childhood appeared in her mind.

Elise sighed.

Then she walked in.

She didn’t expect Elise to be so arrogant, but she tolerated it. Anyway, Elise would go to the dogs soon.
Elise didn’t behave arrogantly. Since childhood, Snowy had been against her. Therefore, Elise felt awkward after seeing Snowy so friendly.
It felt creepy.
After entering the living room, Elise didn’t see as many people as she had expected. A few were sitting, Gordon in the host’s chair and David beside him.
Elise guessed others might be David’s subordinates.
“Elise, here you came. Come to sit next to Grandpa. You were clingy to me when you were young. Whenever I had something yummy, I shared it with you. Do you miss me?”
Gordon wore a warm smile, which was pretty rare.
“Exactly. Elise was a little girl when she stayed here, running around while wearing a diaper. Once she peed on me.”
“Karen Johnson was too lazy at that time. She didn’t care about Elise. I always bathed her.”
“In a blink, the baby girl back then has grown up to be a beautiful woman. She’s become a mother already.”
All other relatives started talking about the past sentimentally.
For a moment, the air was filled with harmony. Elise was too young to recall the scenes they mentioned, thinking they might have told the truth.
“Grandpa, just go straight to the point. What do you want this time?”
Elise wasn’t a weak woman but a businesswoman who had experienced ups and downs, so she knew Gordon had a purpose for calling her back. Therefore, she didn’t want to beat around the bush.
She could tell the reason wasn’t simple.
“OK. Let’s get it straight. Our family is in trouble. I need you to return the 10% of the company share, help David become the chairman of the board, and obey the company’s assignment unconditionally,” Gordon announced after coughing slightly.

Elise was taken aback.
Gordon’s requirements reechoed in her ears.
She was unwilling to accept it.
Not to mention she was Lands Corporation’s founder. She had led the company to obtain its current achievements after being lucky for a short while. Gordon’s requirements shocked her.
She wondered if he aimed to grab everything from her.
“Grandpa, I established Lands Corporation myself. It belongs to me.”
Elise was so angry that her chest heaved up and down.
“I know. For our family, you must sacrifice. You should hand out everything you have, so our family can pass the crisis,” Gordon answered after hesitating.
He trusted David for his gender and never trusted Elise.
“Have you forgotten, Grandpa? I’ve cut off ties with the Houry family willingly. Anything happening to the family has nothing to do with me now. I don’t have to do anything for you, do I?”
Elise gritted her teeth in reluctance.
Gordon had only favored David all the time because David was a boy, ignoring all Elise’s efforts.
“Elise, no matter what, you have our family’s blood. Since you’re unwilling to take the first solution, we must use the second one.”
David stood up with an evil smile. “Do it!”
“What?”
Elise had a bad hunch. Suddenly, a man appeared behind her, covering a cloth on her nose. After struggling for a short while, Elise failed and felt dizzy.
