Chapter 131 Robin Burst Into Anger

“Thanks.”
Robin ended the call, a murderous look flashing through his eyes.
‘Almost knelt to David Houry? That bastard didn’t deserve it!’
“David Houry, you’ve touched my rock bottom several times. Now, you’ve touched my taboo. You can’t blame me for what happens next,” muttered Robin.
Fortunately, he had been captured this time. If Elise had been taken to that basement room, Robin could imagine what would have happened to her.
David left no way out for Elise.
Robin dialed another number. “I have a mission for you, Timothy…”
“Yes, Mr. Robin!” As the son of a soldier, Timothy immediately answered.
Meanwhile, Elise had picked up Leslie and walked out of the elementary school. When she saw Robin, Leslie threw herself into his arms. “Daddy! Daddy! Hold me!”
“You’ve grown up, Leslie.”
“No! Daddy! Hold me! Hold me!”
After begging for a while with her cute voice, Leslie straddled Robin’s shoulders happily. This was one of the few times her parents picked her up together.
“Why did Lacey Willis come to rescue you?” Elise asked, tilting her head.
“I called the police,” Robin explained.
Elise didn’t overthink, although she still sensed something was wrong. However, that was how Lacey usually worked, and she had long known about that.
It was said Lacey was just like that growing up. She was always the first one to help the good and fight the bad.
The city was so much safer with Lacey around.

Skyline Hotel.
David and Snowy were enjoying a bottle of red wine. The atmosphere was elegant and melodious piano echoed throughout the lobby.
“David, you are so smart. Elise Houry’s project has been delayed. Now she has no other ways at all. I still remember how pitiful she looked when she begged us. She almost knelt.”
Snowy sipped the wine, her face scarlet in excitement.
Their plan worked well. Snowy slept with Ewan and spent 60, 000 dollars to bribe one employee in Elise’s company.
Although Robin was captured instead, their plan succeeded.
Elise had begged others for help but failed. In the end, she had to beg David and Snowy pitifully.
She even was willing to return the 10% shares in her hands.
However, David rejected her as he wanted to get Elise into desperation for fun.
“Humph! She has overestimated herself. Just wait and see. I’ll wait until that woman step into despair and she will lose everything in the end.”
Swirling his goblet, David sneered.
‘Elise Houry, how dare you compete for the position against me! You must be so sick of your life!’
David wanted to shatter Elise’s family and hopefully make them all beg on the street. He didn’t think a woman could fight him.
“I was surprised Elise cared about Robin Bailey, that good-for-nothing. Well, a lonely woman and a security guard. Ehn. They are a perfect match,” David mocked.
If he were Elise, he would have kicked Robin away. He couldn’t understand why Elise was willing to accept Robin.
However, Robin became another weakness of Elise, making her much easier to deal with.
Suddenly, David’s phone rang. He picked it up, only to find Gordon was calling. He felt confused. He wondered why his grandfather was calling him. Was it about his inheritance?
It was sooner than David had expected.
Suddenly, he wondered if Gordon was dying.
“Grandpa. What’s the matter?”
David wondered if it was about the inheritance, yet Gordon prompted, “Hurry up and come back home. Something happened.”
“Something happened?” David was taken aback, disappointed that his wish didn’t come true.
Before he asked for more details, Gordon hung up. David sullenly looked at Snowy. “Grandpa said something had happened. Let’s go home.”
After all, he would become the head of the Houry family in the future, so he sure cared for it.
“OK.”
Snowy and David headed back home.
After arriving at Gordon’s house, they found Gordon sitting in the living room, his face gloomy. Piles of documents were placed on the table.
“Read them.” Gordon pointed at the files.
David approached and found that those were all debt and mortgage contracts. “This is… Noel. This is Koby. This is Tanners. And they owe… Jesus! One hundred thousand! Sixty thousand! Seventy thousand?! Holy shit… How could they have owed so much?”
Browsing the contracts, David looked shocked.
The further he read, the more debts he got.
“They owed three million dollars in total. They are all your nephews and cousins. I asked them. They said someone had set them up. Some were blackmailed, and some were framed. Evidently, someone was doing this for us.”
Gordon looked angry. They had got some thirty people with them here, and twenty-one were blackmailed.
Now they owed three million dollars.
“Three million dollars? How could it be so much?”
David gaped at his grandfather. “Let’s call the police. We were evidently blackmailed.”
“They caught something on us. Those fools were all blackmailed when doing something illegal business. We cannot call the police. Otherwise, we’ll be in trouble. Besides, they were definitely prepared before they did this.”
“Look at those contracts.”
Gordon pulled out a few contracts again.
“Those are the termination agreements.”
David read through it and widened his eyes and mouth. “This is Valkyrie. This one is Shrub. Even this company terminated their contract with us? Gosh!”
The pile of agreements was all the termination contracts with the Houry family.
The Houry family owned other companies besides Lands Corporation. However, Lands Corporation was their primary source of income, yet all these small companies had terminated their partnership with them.
If this went on, the Houry family would go bankrupt.
Suddenly, David was enlightened. He pulled out his phone and checked the stock price. After browsing it quickly, he paled. “No! Even our stocks have plummeted.”
“Who did it? He just wants to ruin our family completely.”
A murderous look flashed through David’s eyes.
He couldn’t help wondering who was behind all of them.
David wanted to inherit the House family, so he would never allow any accident to happen.
“It should be done by Timothy Buosont. He did it because of Nina Houry.”
Gordon knocked on the table.
He disliked Elise and Nina as he preferred boys more. He never wanted a woman to inherit the family. Even though Elise had established Lands Corporation successfully, Gordon had never recognized her.
