David was shocked. It was said Timothy was a playboy. He didn’t expect Timothy to hit Snowy.
He was supposed to treat Snowy nicely, wasn’t he?
“What shall we do now?” Snowy asked.
Everyone stared at David. Most of them had flattered this acting chairman of the board before. Under their gazes, David looked over at Gordon. “Do you have any idea, Grandpa?”
He pushed the pressure on his grandfather.
David didn’t want to show weakness, but he couldn’t do anything. If Lucas Corporation still existed, he would forcibly send Elise to them for some investment funds.
Unfortunately, Lucas Corporation had gone bankrupt.
He also heard the rumors that its president had died as well.
Gordon, the current master of the Houry family, frowned while thinking hard. However, he couldn’t do anything but ask others, “Who can tell us a good idea?”
All of them were silent. They did want to suggest something to impress the senior executives, but they couldn’t find any way.
“Probably, we can ask Elise to come back,” a voice sounded in the crowd.
However, no one echoed him. They forcibly kicked Elise out of the company and family not long ago, so they couldn’t accept letting her come back.
They refused to use such a way.
Besides, even if they asked Elise back, would she be willing to return?
They believed Elise would take the chance to give them a hard time.
Suddenly, a legal department manager received a call, and his expression changed dramatically. He immediately reported to Gordon: “The Robin-Sophia Group sued us and requested us to pay the penalty ASAP.”
“Why such a hurry?”
Others’ hearts tightened.
Jim had just stepped out of their company not long ago, but he sued them immediately.
“According to the contract, if we pay the penalty, we will only have three days. Therefore, we must find the fund to pay it first. Otherwise, our company will definitely go bankrupt.”

After discussing, they concluded that they had to ask Elise to return.

“Me?”
David was startled.
“Right. Only you go to talk to Elise can show her our sincerity,” Gordon explained.
“No. I won’t go,” David refused, shaking his head.
Earlier, he had tried every means to offend Elise. However, his grandfather wanted him to apologize to her.
“David, aren’t you one of the Houry family? Why can’t you contribute to our family? You only need to apologize to Elise. What can you lose? You should do it for our family’s sake.”
“Isn’t your family name Houry? Can’t you sacrifice for our family?”
Others started to blame him.
Blood drained from David’s face. In the end, he flicked his hand and agreed, “OK. I will go.”
“Snowy, you go with him as well. Try your best to let Elise forgive us. Our company depends on you.”
Gordon heaved a sigh.

“I know.”
Elise looked worried, pinching between her eyebrows.

Elise stood protectively before Robin while defending him.

Rodney gazed at her in anger.
“No. It wouldn’t work if she begged them humbly. All they wanted was to kick her out,” Robin chimed in.
“Who do you think you are to speak? You are just a live-in son-in-law relying on our family. Shut up!” Karen snapped at him.
Then she added, “As far as I know about those people, you’ve made a fuss, so they won’t ask you to go back. Why don’t you sell your 10% of the company shares? I have a client. He contacted me for the share and offered 400, 000 dollars.” She sounded excited.
A man contacted her the previous night and offered 400, 000 dollars for their shares. Karen believed it was a high price. As long as the shares were sold, she could buy more branded handbags.
“Sell them? Impossible!”
Elise shook her head.
“Don’t you want to sell them? Think you can still return to Lands Corporation? You won’t become the chairwoman of the board anymore. Give up. The Houry family won’t let you return,” Karen said, trying to convince her.
“Maybe they will,” Robin answered.
“They will? Humph! How could it be possible? Don’t you know the current situation? How can they let Elise return after she’s made a fuss? Robin Bailey, you moron! Think the Houry family will ask her to go back?”
