Xena had been pacing up and down the room, she regretted that she fell into Nneka’s trap, even after knowing she’s a bitch.
She clenched her first, wondering why Jeanne hadn’t come and checked up on her, naturally she should blame her, but she couldn’t since she knew Jeanne never wanted all this to happen to her.
The shuffling footsteps coming closer to the prison made a smile brushed her face, she was confident that Jeanne was the one coming.
Truly, it was Jeanne, she stopped at the entrance, one guard looked up at him
“You aren’t permitted to come here,” The guard said to her, following the king’s order.
The King ordered the guard not to allow Jeanne to enter into the prison, he wanted Xena to reflect on her mistakes and errors.
Xena is someone the king cares so much for, he can’t forget how she stood with his mother in times of difficulty, protecting her from becoming a monster is his duty.
He had known that the Palace was a place where people can easily turn into monsters, but he didn’t want Xena to become one, sending her into the prison was a difficult decision.
“I just want to have a discussion with her, I don’t intend to do anything that will jeopardize your work, you can rest assured” She said and handed him a place of food.
The guard stared at the food, his mouth mouthery at the aroma, but he shook his head that he was not eating.
“It’s not a bribe, I just want to thank you for protecting my friend.” Before she could finish saying, the guard collected the food, and it almost spilled down.
“Thank you” The guard said with a smile and threw the key at her, then he turned, wanting to sit down and eat the food.
“Can you move backward a bit, we have something confidential to discuss” Jeanne said with a smile?
“No problem” The guard replied and moved back nervously, anticipating to munch on the food already.
Jeanne sighed deeply, rushing to open the door while noticing the glared on xena face.
“Hey, Xena” Jeanne called as she entered and pulled her into a tight embrace, without bothering her expression.
“I’m sorry for messing up, I apologize for putting you here” Jeanne started pleading, tightening the embrace like her survival depended on it
After the last sound of Jeanne’s voice, a deep silence befell the prison, only their breathing was heard until Xena finally voiced out.
“Can you release me from your tight embrace now?” Xena said and Jeanne burst into laughter.
“Have thought you weren’t going to speak to me, but have decided to remain here until you speak” Jeanne voiced out in a joking tone, making Xena face lighten up.
Finally, Jeanne pulled away from the tight embrace and they both sat down on the small bed inside the room.
Xena started the discussion, her eyes looking intently into Jeanne’s eyes.
“Jeanne! The person responsible for this is queen Nneka, and I want to pay her back tenfold” Xena yelled.
“That bitch made the king throw you here” Jeanne fuming in anger
“Yea, and I think it’s time I show her what I’m made up of, by the time I finish with her, she will be scared of touching what is mine, the king is m…” Xena sounded boldly with a deadly smirk on her lips.
She waved her hand to Jeanne to bring her ear closer, which she did, then she whispered to her ears, not wanting anyone to hear it.
“What?” Jeanne said, her eyes widened, looking at Xena.
“Yes” Xena nodded her head firmly.
“Are you confident, there won’t be repercussions? I don’t want you to keep offending the king” Jeanne asked, fears brushed her lips.
“Nooo, this is an opportunity to make the king love me so much, I want you to sneak out of the palace without anyone seeing you, make sure you close your track this time, I don’t want any story” Xena uttered more in a threatening tone.
“There is no problem, I will try my best and make sure I don’t allow anyone to know about it” Jeanne assured her, and Xena grinned.
“Wait for me, queen Nneka, I will make sure you pay for this” Xena muttered under her breath.
Afterward, they chatted with each other, talking about different things, how Nneka must have felt on her first night by not allowing the king to go into her chamber.
Suddenly, a memory struck Jeanne mind.
“I forgot to tell you, I heard the king sent Mira to the farm,” Jeanne said, leaving Xena mouth wide open.
The King hasn’t ever interfered with the women in the Palace, none of their activities affect him, except the one that involves the jeopardizing of the community.
“Why?” Xena asked.
“I heard it was because of that bitch called Aurora, they dealt meanly with her; she went ahead to report them to the king” Jeanne said, and instantly a heat settled in Xena, breathing heavily, rage and jealousy coursed through her body.
“You mean that bitch that made me land here, also made my most trusted ally among the maid to leave the palace” Xena asked, with her hardened eyes glaring at Jeanne as she asked.
“Yes, I felt like killing that girl when I heard of it,” Jeanne replied.
“You will eventually kill her, I know that for sure” Xena stated, and Jeanne, whose mouth was communicating paused, turned and looked at Xena.
“I….” She touched her chest and then continued.
“Will kill a human?” She ended, her heart hammered against her chest in fear with how Xena sounded…
“Yes, you will set a trap for her while the king will sentence her to death, when I am through with my plans for her” Xena said confidently, but Jeanne didn’t believe her words, her eyes portrayed like she’s killing her now.

Shastina’s heart was in her throat as she followed Daphne quietly into Nneka chamber. Today is the last day she promised the queen to reveal the masked girl to her.
She had thought she would come up with a solution, to cover up for Aurora, but she couldn’t.
Helping Aurora means putting her family in danger, and knowing the kind of person Nneka was, she will surely fulfill every of her threats if she messes up.
“What am I going to do?” it kept echoing in her heart, rubbing her hands nervously, Daphne opened the queen chamber and Shastina went in.
“Good day my Queen” She greeted and bowed her head while Nneka, who was gawking at the palace through the window, turned to her with a serious look on her face, meant for business alone.
