Kayden’s POV
I alighted from the car and Samantha did the same. Behind us were cars parking, the second car was the one in which James and Amelia were in. Their car stopped and James alighted from the car, he walked over to the other side and brought out a blindfolded Amelia from the car.
He pulled Amelia to the front where we both were standing in the middle of the desert. Amelia was walking with a limp but James did not give a single care in the world as he pulled her forward.
I checked the time, it was five minutes to the agreed time and he was at least supposed to be here by now but then we had to wait.
The other men were all out of the car, waiting for any signal to attack. The desert was plain, there was totally nothing in sight and it did not look like the place had been tampered with either.
“You should check out for any changes.” Jay said to me and I looked around more, walking a few steps around the place to ensure that nothing that could be at our own disadvantage had been set.
“This place looks absolutely normal, it does not look like Davis has brought in anything here to attack us.” I noted to Jay.
“We still can not let down our guard, we have to be on the watch.” Jay replied me and I agreed with him.
We stood motionless for minutes till a wave of dust arose with great wind. Each of us had to cover our eyes to prevent the dust from blinding our vision.
By the time I opened my eyes to adjust to the dust, I saw an aircraft landing on the desert.
“Wow, a nice plan you have there Davis.” I mumbled and others also adjusted to the dust.
We all stood firm once more and watched the door of the aircraft open up, Davis walked out of the aircraft with Cassie in his hands, her face was covered with a sack and her hands were tied behind her and Davis dragged her down the aircraft.
“Cassie.” I heard James gasp slightly. I could imagine how I would feel too if I saw Mantha in that type of situation, it would really hurt a lot so I understood his emotions.
“Hello Alpha.” Davis greeted from afar with a loud microphone in his hands.
“None of you should try to come closer or else, she is dying immediately.” he yelled brandishing a knife and I gulped.
Trying to attack would be equal to putting Cassie’s life in danger.
“Release Amelia, let her walk towards me and then I will let Cassie walk towards me.” he yelled and James pushed Amelia forward.
Davis did the same and Cassie began to trudge forward as Amelia did but Amelia was very much faster than Amelia was even with her leg wound and by the time she was with Davis, Cassie was still moving forward slowly.
Davis carried Amelia in his arms and ran into the aircraft once more. James could not hold back anymore and he ran towards the slowly trudging Cassie.
He carried her in his arms and ran over to where we was, he dropped her just as the aircraft was moving.
“Cassie.” he mumbled, untying the rope that was used to tie the sack to Cassie’s face and eventually removed the sack that was covering Cassie’s face.
“Ca…..” He was about to call her name when he moved backwards a bit.
“Who…. who are you?” He asked and I saw who was there, it was not Cassie, it was just another lady.
“Heck!” I hit the car behind me angrily.
“Davis!!!” I screamed angrily, shape shifting into a wolf as I lost my anger.
It was useless to run after the aircraft that had moved already but I did anyways.
I mind linked with James immediately I could think with my brains.
“Get the men to follow the aircraft! It must be followed! I do not care how it is done.” I said to him.
“Y… yes Alpha Kayden.” he replied and the cars zoomed after the aircraft.
I stood on a raised heap of sand, looking up into the sky, finding nothing to vent my anger on.
I was still there, breathing heavily with anger when soft hands touched me, it was Mantha, my anger did not even let me scent her out as she approached me.
“It… it is all going to be fine.” she said to me but I said no words.
I felt useless at the moment, for years I have not had this feeling but now I feel so down that I can not even protect one person, I feel like a huge fool!
Samantha ran her hands into my fur and sat on the same beside me, I crouched to the sand and snuggled my furry body on her laps.
There, on her laps, did I find comfort.
Davis POV
I laughed as I looked down the window to see that Alpha Kayden had shifted into a wolf.
“Such a joke!” I laughed harder as the aircraft moved farther away from the desert.
There was Cassie in the aircraft, the plaster on her mouth muffling her noises and yells.
I walked over to Amelia and removed the blindfold over her eyes, she saw me and threw her hands over me, hugging me tightly.
“Thank you Davis, thanks for coming back for me.” she said and I hugged her back tightly, patting her back gently.
“I would never let go of you Amelia, never.” I said to her and pulled her from where she was seated.
“Your leg is still badly injured.” I pointed out.
“I know, those guys never bothered to take care of me. Davis, do you know that I did not eat a thing, I am so famished, they gave me water only once in a day” she cried out to me.
“It’s okay, I am here now. I am going to make sure that you are okay with me and I will make them pay.” I promised her and glanced at Cassie.
“She…. You decide what to do with her” I said to Amelia and she smirked.
“Isn’t this Cassie? The girlfriend of that cruel James?”
“She is.”
“Well, what would be better than she being the first human slave we are going to possess.” she smirked.
“Your wish, my command.”
