The next day
Kayden’s POV
I paced about the room, my mind was not at rest in any manner. Davis had not been caught yet and even his mate, Amelia was not saying anything apart from what she had said.
I still could not conclude that Davis was the one behind the slavery issue but something was sure, he was connected to a whole lot of things and all these while, he had been by my side, the issue of being betrayed by the one I trusted the most during all these years really did hit I and Kim a whole lot.
I could hardly wait to get Davis and snap his neck after asking him why did all of that to me.
“Are you thinking about Davis?” Samantha’s voice came from behind me and I sighed softly.
There was no need of denying that it was not what I was thinking about, it was just too obvious already.
“You know that’s it.” I mumbled to her, turning to face her.
“You really do not need to think about it, I am sure the men are going to get him here.”
“Davis is not someone who can be easily captured by the men. He has been by my side for years and I never noticed anything, he is exceptionally strong too and he knows just too much on how to get away, once he is out of their sight, I am afraid that he will not be found by them.”
“That may be true but then Amelia is still here with us, he is going to make sure that he comes over here to save her, he is not going to let her die in our hands.”
“That’s right.” I mumbled and a knock came on the door.
“In.”
The door opened and James walked into the room. He got closer and bowed.
“Alpha Kayden.”
“His honored mate.” he greeted but I really was in no mood for greetings.
“Beta Davis has not been found yet, the men have combed the entire place throughout the night but he still can not be found, I apologize for the incompetence.” he bowed yet again and I shut my eyes for a moment.
“It’s not his fault anyways, we both know that the men cannot get Davis.” Jay said to me and I opened my eyes.
“Make sure the place in guarded full time especially where Amelia is locked up in, make sure she does not escape, her being with us is the one of the few hope we have to get Davis.” I said to him.
“Yes Alpha Kayden.”
“No one is allowed to visit her without my own personal permission, absolutely no one.” I emphasized.
“Order taken.” he bowed and turned to leave but halted in his tracks.
“She is badly injured and she has had no meal, I do not think she will last more than two days, should I provide her with the attention she needs?” James asked.
“Give water to her once a day and nothing more, she has to suffer for what she has done and two days…. That should be very well enough for Davis to come get his darling.”
“Taken Alpha Kayden.” he bowed yet again and walked out of the room.
I stood in that same position for seconds before Jay spoke up.
“What if Davis does not come in the next two days?” He asked me.
“Then I personally go to him. There’s nowhere he can hide where I, Alpha Kayden would not be able to get him.”
Davis POV
I arranged my guns and packed up the silver bullets up in my little bag that hung just by my side. I was going to save Amelia, I knew how dangerous Kayden could be but then I knew the steps he would take in this situation.
He would not kill Amelia, he would wait for me to come and get Amelia then use the opportunity to get me also into his nets but still yet, he would not treat Amelia’s wounds and he would make sure she lives the worst living conditions available as long as she does not die and that is something I can not take.
I picked my face cap and put it on. It would have been easier if I could get my men to do come over but that would be too difficult, I would be found out if they were to come and it would also be risky to my identity as the big boss of the slave trade, this was an issue that had to do with my mate, it was a personal issue and personally was how I was going to deal with it.
I walked out of the place, the smell of fresh leaves hit my nose and they seemed to clear up my really filled up heart a bit. I sniffed in more fresh breath before grabbing the stinky liquid in a bottle in my hands.
The liquid was really stinky and hard to breath in but it was just the perfect thing to conceal my scent from being revealed.
I closed my boss and poured it all over me, the stinky liquid rolled down my face down to my body and I gritted my teeth in the bad smell.
I moved my legs and began to venture out of the dark and dense forest, I eventually got used to the stink and it did not really matter to me anymore how much I smelt.
After walking for minutes, I eventually got out of the forest and got onto the road, it was still a bit bright outside and it was nice seeing the sun once more.
I did not know yet how I was going to get into the mansion but I knew that I was going to get into and it would be on this very day.
I was walking down the place with the little people I met across the way avoiding me badly due to my bad and horrible smell.
I had walked for almost an hour when I saw someone familiar, someone who could solve the issue I had at hand, Cassie.
The discussion I had with James the other time came rushing to my brain, if there was someone that James did cherish more than Alpha Kayden and Samantha, it was Cassie.
Getting her would means getting my Amelia too.
“Cassie, what a nice prey.” my lips curled up in a smirk.
