Chapter 170

Kayden’s POV
I was trying to calm myself down but the words that Samantha was saying did not help matters. I looked back at Davis who was standing behind me, this had been my beta ever since my ascension as the Alpha of Alphas of the entire Wolfdom, he has helped me solve different issues, he has always been by my side but could there be a possibility that Samantha is right? Could it really be that Davis was somehow involved in whatever was happening to her?
And if that was the case, what did Davis have against her? What was Mantha’s crime to him?
“Alpha Kayden.” he tapped my shoulder, taking me out of my trance.
“Yeah?”
“You’ve been staring at me for a while now.” he pointed out and I looked away from him.
I picked my phone and transferred a certain amount of money to the guy helping me with the tracking. He called me few minutes later, perhaps to acknowledge his reception of the money that k had just sent to him.
“Boss, thanks for the cash. I have…”
“I would send another contact to you, track it in minutes, if you are able to do it in less than 10 minutes, then I would double the amount of money I gave to you.”
“Sure! I would get it ready immediately.” he replied, excitement obvious on his voice.
“Jay, I really do not know who to trust anymore.” I said to Jay who had been remaining quiet.
“I… I also do have no idea.” Jay replied me and I ran my hand through my silky hair.
“Is there any more issue?” Davis asked me inquisitively and I stared at him suspiciously for a moment before shaking my head.
“Nothing that is of great concern to you.”
“Okay Alpha Kayden.”
“Have you seen Lauren today?”
“Not at all Alpha. We only meet coincidentally once in a while but we have not…”
“Okay then, you can keep it quiet now”
“Do you think Lauren has a hand in all of this?” He questioned me.
“Yes, and why do you appear so curious?” I asked, staring at him and looking dwep into his eyes like I was trying to see what he was thinking.
“I… I just care for the safety of the future Luna of the Wolfdom.” he replied.
“Lauren is involved in it.” I said to him.
“So the contact you have asked to be tracked is Lauren’s contact?” He asked but I simply remained mute.
“Why did you tell him about Lauren being involved in this? What if he is partners with Lauren like Mantha said, what are you supposed to do then?”
“That would be the best thing I can do right now. If Lauren knows that I gave found out about her being the one behind it, it will strike fear into her and she would not dare to hurt Mantha. I do not really dare too much about catching whoever is behind this exactly, I can catch them tomorrow, I can catch them in the next two years but Mantha, I need her to remain safe for me, right now, because if she is killed, she is gone not just for today but forever”
“You… You are right! I can hardly wait to grab who exactly is behind this. Even if it Davis truly, I would not hesitate to dig my claws into his skin and rip him apart, then feed his bitter flesh to the dogs to feed on!”
My phone buzzed with a message and I quickly checked on it, it was the address of Lauren and truly according to Mantha’s words, it was not so far from where we were at the moment.
“I think we should go alone, without this probable traitor.” Jay suggested
“That would be unwise, if he is the traitor in this case, what if he leaves my side and goes to do something else about the issue? That would be more dangerous.” I replied him.
“Davis, you drive.” I ordered and was about to get into the car when I felt a sharp and instant pain in my shoulder, the pain stung so bad. I had to hold onto my shoulder with my arm and breathed in and out deeply, this was definitely the pain inflicted from a silver knife, only such could cause this pain but it wasn’t the pain that disturbed my already disturbed heart, it was the realization that there was no one who would be feeling this pain other than Mantha herself and she would be feeling double of this pain.
“Are you okay alpha?” Davis asked me.
“Just get the freaking car moving.” I gritted my teeth settling into the car.
“Yes Alpha Kayden.” he replied and put the car into swift motion.
“Where are we off to Alpha Kayden?” He asked me and I began to direct him.
I was not so familiar with this place so giving him the phone to check the address himself might be dangerous because if Davis is just what Mantha was trying to portray to me then he might just drive somewhere else.
I made use of the Google map and continued directing him there as I mumbled something I had not said in years, a prayer.
I needed nothing else but for Samantha to be safe for me.
Davis POV
Genuinely I was getting scared of what was going to happen to me of Kayden should discover all that I have been doing. There was no way I could text or call Lauren in front of him to tell her to exit the place or make sure that Samantha did not remember anything.
I knew that there was only one thing I could do and that was to mind link with her, it was a bit hard at first to do so but I eventually did.
“Get out of that place right now!” I said to her.
“What… what do you mean?”
“If you still want your head on your neck, just get out of that place. Kayden is on his way to you right now.”
“What? Even if I run off, Samantha would give me out.”
I was going to tell her that was her problem and that she shouldn’t mention my name in this issue when she continued her words.
“Samantha was aware of you when you were here, she knows the both of us abducted her.” she replied me.
“You know what you are going to do now? You stabbed her, right?”
“Yes I did.”
“Good! She must be weak already then, find something to hit her head, just get any hard and heavy metal to hit her then pick up the dark blue injection that is kept glued to the wall. Inject it into her system.”
“What does it do? It would kill her?”
“If you kill Mantha at this point, you are not going to survive it, I swear and even I myself for the fact that he is suspecting he already, I would not survive it.”
“Oh… Then what does it do?”
“It would get rid of all memories that has happened in the space of 24 hours.”
