Kayden’s POV
Even without the confirmation about the possibility that Samantha was pregnant, I could feel Jay doing a dance of joy in me, his leaps were sharp and instant in me, even I myself could not stop the smiles on my face but Mantha was different, she was indifferent untill she burst into loud laughter.
I stared at her with a small pout confused at her sudden laughter.
“What’s so funny? I am just saying that you might be pregnant.” I said to her and she laughed even more.
“You are so funny, I mean I just threw up, what else did I do? Nothing, how can you just conclude that I am pregnant, stop being like this.” she said to me and I rolled my eyes.
“I am such a strong man, awesome on bed too so it would not be too much surprise if you are pregnant for me already.” I said to her, sitting beside her on the bed and holding her soft hands in mine.
“But… What if it is not so?” She asked lowly.
“C’mon, let’s get the doctor to come over here first.” I grinned at her.
“The doctor is not going to come here with the testing equipment, the only thing we can do right now is to go out there and get a pregnancy test strip, that should do for now.” she suggested.
“That is not always accurate.” Jay groaned.
“But that should do for now, we can go to the hospital for a test tomorrow.” I replied him and helped Mantha up from where she was seated.
“Let’s go and get the pregnancy test strip.” I said to her and led her out of the room.
The both of us slowly walked through the well conditioned corridors slowly, cherishing every second that we were spending together.
We got into the elevator and began the journey down. Few minutes later, we were in the car driving off to the nearest pharmacy around.
We got to one in few minutes and by the time we were there, I was already jiggy with excitement and curiousity. Mantha played with her fingers and I knew that she was feeling nervous.
I could feel her in depth nervousness.
I alighted from the car but unlike her usual character, Mantha did not alight from the car on her own so I quickly walked over to her side and opened up the door of the car to her.
“Mantha, get down now.” I said to her gently.
“Ugh? Oh… I am getting down.” she replied me, getting out of whatever trance she had been just few seconds ago.
She stepped out of the car and I closed the door of the car, locking the car up quickly.
I held her hands and how cold it was at the moment, an act that signified how nervous she was being.
“If you do not want us to run the test, we can just go back home.” I suggested to her.
“We are here already so we might as well just do things once.” she replied me and I responded with a smile that was directed at reassuring her and calming her down.
“It doesn’t really matter if you are pregnant or not.” I said to her.
“Take a look at you, you are so happy guessing that I am pregnant, what if we run the test and then I am not pregnant? how much of a disappointment is that supposed to be to me?” She asked.
“There is no such thing as being disappointed, I would be happy if you’re pregnant but if you are not yet, there is totally no problem with it babe, I assure you that you are the one I love and I am going to love you irrespective of anything that ever comes up.” I replied her and gave her another smile.
By this time, her earlier on cold fingers had turned warmer and I was glad that I was at least good when it came to this.
“Let’s go in then.” I said and we stepped into the place, hand in hand, with both our hearts hammering away at our rib cages.
I could feel what she was feeling and I knew she could feel mine, that undeniable bond between the both of us.
“Hey, can we get a…. Can we get a….” Mantha stuttered to talk.
“Feeling shy, it’s not like we are not old enough to start a family and it’s not like I am not good enough to take responsibility for you and probably the baby too.” I said to her, creating a mind link.
She turned to me and we locked eyes for moments before I turned to the sales girl.
“A pregnancy test strip.” I said to her.
“Oh… I see, right away.” she replied me and walked deeper into the place, she emerged seconds later with the strip in her hands.
“Directions?” I requested.
“Just urinate into it, two red lines will indicate that you are pregnant and just one indicates that very well, you are not pregnant.” she replied and I took the strip from her while I handed over my card to her.
“There you go.”
She swiped my card and returned it to me.
“Bye, I wish you get whatever result you wish for.” she replied with a loud voice.
“So noisy.” I mumbled.
“You should be saying Amen to that huge prayer.” Jay scolded me.
“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes.
“You want me to disturb you or you are going to say Amen?” He asked and I shook my head before letting out a sigh.
“Okay… Amen, I am going to meet whatever results I wish for.” I replied.
The both of us returned into the car and I drive off in total silence, none of us was willing to talk or maybe it was just the nervousness that too k over the whole situation and turned us into some quiet dogs.
I parked the car in front of the hotel and we both alighted the car, we walked back to our suite without saying a word.
“I… I would go and have myself tested then.” Samantha mumbled.
“Sure, go on.” I urged her and she took the strip from me and walked into the restroom.
I waited while caressing the locket on my neck.
“Only God can describe my happiness if I find out that she is really pregnant.” I said to Jay.
“You don’t know how happy I will be to get a pup!”
I waited for minutes pacing around the length and breadth of the room before heading to the restroom door.
“Are you done?” I asked, while standing by the door.
“Just a sec more.” she requested and I left the door.
Few minutes later, the door opened and Mantha stroked out of the restroom with a dad look on her face.
I guess she is not pregnant yet, I just raised her hope, I know she is going to feel down for the rest of the day.
“I already…. I already told you that it is not really important for you to be pregnant for me right now, we can….”
“I am pregnant!!”
