James POV
I waited by the car, tapping my foot on the the hard road while waiting for Alpha Kayden and Samantha to come meet me so I can hand over the girl in my hands to them and go on with my business.
I already sent the other guys out and spread them. aeound the place so they can try to get something out for me. I looked into the not too bright sky and rubbed my temple.
I wondered what Mantha was thinking that made her suspect Davis, to me, Davis was not a bad guy but then could we really trust anybody?
Even at that, it would be utterly shocking if I ever discover that Davis really does have something shady because that would be really something else, he has spent several years by Alpha Kayden’s side and if he really betrays Alpha Kayden then truly no one can be trusted.
I saw a car approaching me and I needed no one to tell me who was in the car, the car parked before me and Samantha alighted first, rushing towards me before Alpha Kayden stepped out in his majestic manner.
“Alpha Kayden.” I greeted with a slight bow.
“Where is she? Where is Marie?” Samantha asked me, looking all around the place.
“She is the car, she would not listen that I am not a bad guy and that I am actually from you, so I just hit her point and made her slip into unconsciousness.” I replied her and Samantha gasped.
“You hit her so hard?!”
“I did not hit her that hard, I just had to hit her point” I replied her.
“Are you sure it would not be hard waking her up?” She asked me.
“Not at all, it is as easy as whatever to wake her up, a bottle of water will do the job.” I replied and brought out a bottle of water from the front of the car.
Samantha had opened the car door of the backseat where the Marie girl laid, she had actually given me such a hard time cause I was trying to explain to her.
“Marie.” Samantha called, shaking her up a bit but there was no reaction or response from Marie.
I opened the bottle of water and splashed it on Marie’s face, she awoke with a startle and her face turned into a friend as she saw me on front of her.
“You! How dare you capture me?” She asked and I merely rolled my eyes.
“Samantha.” she called, on noticing Samantha and Samantha helped her sit up.
“Marie.”
“I would excuse you then.” I said and walked away from their presence.
Samantha’s POV
“Marie, how did you escape?… I found Clarice dead.” I said to her
“Yeah I know that she would not survive it, she was trying to make sure that I come out safe, she caused the distraction and gave me enough time to run away from the others.” she replied me
“It must have been so tough on you.” I said to her.
“It sure was. Immediately I was out, I had nothing to do, all I just wanted was to find some safe space but I know that would be far from whatever I would be getting, I actually stole some money when I saw the news that you his fiancee. I recognized you immediately and knew immediately that you are the only one that could at least offer me a little bit of protection.” she replied and I hugged her.
“I am sorry you did not meet me home that day and yes before I forget to introduce, this is Alpha Kayden, my mate” I said to her with a grin.
“Really? Alpha Kayden? The much gossiped about Alpha Kayden? I… I…. Good…. good day Alpha Kayden.” She greeted him with a stutter but Kayden merely replied her, he just gave a slight nod in acknowledgement.
“He is so handsome.” she shrieked excitedly.
“I know, I am lucky to have him.”
“Do you have any information that can be good enough for us?” Kayden asked her.
“C’mon, at least let her rest a bit before you ask questions, is that okay?” I asked Kayden and he hesitantly nodded his head.
“Then I would be in the car, you both should catch up, I would get James to book us an hotel around this place” he said to me.

“Thank you! You are always the best!” I grinned at him and he walked away.
“How did you really escape?” I asked Marie.
“We were about to be killed…. The bus was already filled with others and they decided to kill those that could not fit in, it was such a fast killing moment, we were all wolves who haven’t shape shifted yet so it was a bit easy for them to get rid of us but the shooting helped me, it didn’t touch me, no bullets did but Clarice was hit in her leg. The both of us struggled to get out of the place but we made a noise and attracted attention, Clarice insisted that I should leave and she would take my place since she was already weak. I tried to convince her that we should go together but she told me that there was no hope for her anymore and I eventually left.” she replied me, her eyes getting teary and her voice cracking more every seconds.
“It is okay now, I would make sure that nothing of the sort happens to you again.” I said to her.
“How did you get to meet him, Alpha Kayden?” She asked me.
“It is pretty long story, why don’t we talk about it later on when you get something to eat?” I asked and she nodded.
“That would be nice but that guy that held me down is not so nice, how could he knock me out? I feel so weak already.” she said to me.
“He is James and he is actually a nice guy, he probably just had to do it so that I could get to you.” I replied her.
“If he is as you say, then he is an overall nice guy.”
“Can I ask more?” She asked and I nodded.
“Is he single?”
