Cassie’s POV
I dropped the phone with a bit of relief in my heart, the both of us had finally talked and there was hardly anything as peaceful as the talk we just had.
Even though I did not actually tell him that I had forgiven him or told him that I love him, I still loved the reassurance that he gave me when he told me that he loves me.
I smiled brightly and pulled off my clothes. I had been scared the whole night, thinking that he could be somewhere hidden but turns out it still had to do with Alpha Kayden.
I tied a towel around my chest and walked into the bathroom to have a bath while singing a love song, it was a song that I had learnt along with James.
The moments when he would join me in singing with his loud deep voice brought smiles to my face.
Even if he is a wolf, I have found out that I am addicted to him and I can no longer do without him, not in this lifetime and definitely not in the next.
I took a long bath, applied lotion on my body and dressed up in a beautiful gown. I had woken up that morning in a terrible mood but just James voice that I had heard was just what I needed to completely alleviate all my bad mood.
Kayden’s POV
I looked around the place but I could not find Mantha.
“Mantha.” I called out to her in a mind link.
“Yeah Kay.” she replied me and I breathed out softly.
“Where are you?” I asked her.
“I am around, I would be with you very soon.” she replied me.
“Do you know where I am? Just tell me where you are and I will be there in a moment, I want to spend some time with you” I said to her.
“Okay fine, I am at the greens.” she replied me and I ended the mind link.
I made my way to the greens and saw that James was just leaving there.
“Alpha Kayden.” he bowed slightly and I responded with nothing but a nod.
“I heard about what you did concerning I and Cassie’s relationship. It worked and I am really grateful” he thanked me.
“Pick the guys and lead them to the other parts to search for the hideout of those slave masters” I said to him, ignoring his appreciation even though I was glad for him.
“Sure Alpha.”
“Samantha.” I called out to her and she furrowed her brows.
“What did you just call me?” She asked.
“I am sorry, Mantha.” I replied her and she smiled gently.
“You were named Samantha, why do you love the name Mantha more?” I asked her, wrapping my arms around her in a back hug.
“I love Mantha more because you gave me the name.” she replied me and I kissed her forehead.
“What were you discussing with James?” I asked her as I searched into her eyes.
“James… Nothing really.” she shrugged it off.
“I want to know what you were discussing.” I requested as gently as I could.
“He has good news, your method worked, he called Cassie, she did not pick his call but she called him back and they both had a nice chat” she replied me and I was quite glad.
“That’s a good news” Jay said to me, doing a small leap in me, I was really happy for the good news that popped up in the middle of all these issue.
“That’s nice” I mumbled a reply.
“I know, right? It was really surprising that she could call him back.” Mantha said with happiness written on her face.
“We would be leaving here now.” I said to her.
“Really?”
“Yes, we would be leaving to go back home for now while the men try to figure out if they can still find them.” I replied.
“James is going home to Cassie?”
“Not yet, the time away from each other is not enough yet.” I replied her.
“Your ideas, your decisions.” she replied with a smile and gave me a thumbs up.
“Just one for me? Don’t I deserve two?” I asked and she pulled my cheek.
“You greedy guy.” she mumbled cutely and gave me two thumbs up.
“Now that you mention the word greedy, I really do want to be greedy with you.” I said to her with a naughty smile and she hit my shoulder.
“You are being naughty again.”
“Only for you babe.”
“Let’s leave then?” She asked.
“Sure babe.” I replied her, held her hand and led her away while caressing the soft skin of her hands.
We both got into the car and I drove off.
“I thought we were going to meet your Dad here yesterday.”
“Just call him father.” I corrected her.
“Oh, okay. I thought we were going to meet Father here yesterday.” she asked.
“Yes, he decided to go home. According to him, he is retired already and what he really needs to do is to have nice moments with his darling.” I replied her.
“Father must be a romantic soul.”
“Not as good as I am anyways.” I bragged and heard her scoff.
“What do you mean? You mean to say that I am not romantic?” I asked her.
“You are not compared to few of the movies that I have watched but I still love you over all of them.” she replied and I smiled gently.
The car moved out of town when Samantha’s phone rang, she picked it up and said a few words before freezing for a spilt second.
“Really? You found her? Make sure you assure her that you are a good guy and you are going to take her to me, ensure that she is very well protected, do you get me?” She asked and ended the call afterwards.
Her reaction to the call had made me stop the car already while waiting for her to tell me what she heard over the phone.
“That was James who called me, he said he is on his way somewhere with the other guys on your order.” she started.
“Sure, is that too much of a job for him? Why does he have to report to you and your words when you were on phone do not go along with what you just told me” I pointed out.
“I am not done talking Kayden.” she grumbled.
“Okay go on.” I urged her.
“She has been found, my slave inmate that escaped back then and came looking for me, James found her.”
