James POV
I walked through the others, a guy was being taken away, I looked back at him, he was almost crying. I shrugged it off and walked forward to where Alpha Kayden, Samantha and Davis were all standing.
“Alpha Kayden.” I greeted with a small bow.
“His honored mate.” I bowed slightly yet again.
“Capable beta.”
“You’re here.” Alpha Kayden mumbled.
“Yes Alpha, I set out immediately I received your message, but permit me to ask Alpha, what is my task here?” I requested, wanting to know why he had taken me away from Cassie.
“There is not enough trusted men arou d here, you should be here with me.” He replied.
“Grateful for your trust.” I replied him.
“That guy that just got whisked away, what did he do?” I asked as gently as I could.
“Him… He is the suspected mole.” Samantha replied me.
“Suspected?” I asked her and she nodded.
“Let me explain things to you.” she said and held my arm but I quickly and gently removed her hands from my arm.
Like, was she forgetting who she was right now?
“What’s wrong?” She asked so naively and before I could reply, Alpha Kayden had pulled her to him.
“It’s just holding your arm.” Samantha said to me.
“I will do the explaining to him.” Alpha Kayden said and took two steps forward to me.
He told me all that had happened while I simply made few comments and nodded.
“Can I take a look at the rag that was used?” I asked him.
“I simply do have the feeling that the guy that was taken is innocent.” I said to Kim.
“His eyes look innocent but the heart of man is something that can not be read.” Kim replied me.
“True but I just have the feeling.”
“Here you go.” Alpha Kayden said and passed the rag to me.
“This rag was used to clean what?” I asked him and heard him groan.
“I already told you what it was used to clean, dirty hand stains and blood.” he replied me and I laid out the shirt.
It was dirty, sure enough but there was not a single blood stain on the shirt.
“Seems like that guy is really innocent.” I said to Kim.
“This shirt has no blood stains, it was not used to clean blood at all.” I said to Alpha Kayden and he took the shirt from me.
Alpha Kayden was not someone who would miss such details and I knew that he was a bit stressed out for him not to have noticed that.
“That’s true.” he mumbled.
“But this is his shirt, it has his scent, why then was his shirt found somewhere else?” Alpha Kayden asked, more to himself than it was to me.
“Maybe we could just ask the guy.” I replied his question anyways.
“Sure, how’s things going on with Cassie?” He asked, with his face showing just a tiny bit of interest.
“She still cares about me but she is not willing to take me into her life yet.” I replied him.
“Just a matter of time that would be.” he replied and walked away.
Unknown’s POV
I walked into the place where the guy, the owner of the shirt had been kept.
I moved closer to him and he kept pleading with his eyes.
“Please appeal to Alpha Kayden on my behalf, o really am not a mole… I… I just pulled off the shirt because I fell, I simply threw it away since I had another one… I really am not a mole” he pleaded even harder while my smile just free wider.
“I know that… I know you are not the mole.” I said to him.
“Really? Thank you for trusting me, please do tell Alpha Kayden the same so he can spare my life.” he requested.
“But I would not do that.” I shook my head.
“P… Please help me just this once.” he pleaded.
“Alpha Kayden might not kill you….” I started.
“Thank goodness.” he mumbled.
“But you are going to die anyways.” I replied him and he froze.
“Wh… What do you mean?” He stuttered.
“I mean that he might not kill you but you are going to die because I would be there to kill you.” I replied him with a shrewd smile and his fear heightened.
“I… what did I do wrong? Whatever I did, I am sorry, please forgive me…. Please forgive me.” he pleaded hard.
“I would have done so but then who is going to take the blame for what happened.” I asked him.
“For… For what?” He asked.
“For cleaning the bus.”
“Alpha Kayden is going to find the real culprit very soon, I should not die before then, please help me.” he pleaded even more.
“And that is what should not happen, he can’t find the real culprit.” I said to him.
“W… Why?” He asked.
“Are you so dumb? You don’t understand yet? It’s because I am the real culprit so he can’t find me.” I replied him and he gasped.
“You…. You are the culprit? You are the mole?” He asked, with his voice cracking and I nodded in response with a smile on my face.
“But you are a tiny bit wrong, I am not a mole, of course not, someone like me can not be a mole, I am the biggest boss in everything, I run the entire slavery world” I said to him.
“You.. you! How could you betray Alpha Kayden?!” He half yelled.
“Hey, don’t yell too much, you are a bit too noisy.” I said to him.
“You are nothing but a betrayal.” he growled.
“Yeah I know…. I can’t keep you alive, do you know what I am going to do? I am going to tell Alpha Kayden that you admitted to bring the mole and then killed yourself, and in that way I have solved everything concerning this mess.” I said to him.
“You can kill me but one day your secrets are going to be out one day.” he said to me.
“Yeah, one day but not today.” I replied and shape shifted partially.
I moved towards him and dug my claws into his heart.
“B… Beta Davis.” he shrieked out my name and dropped dead.
