Samantha’s POV
I stared at her limp body that was going cold in seconds, a tear slid down from my eyes again and I had to throw my head backwards to stop more tears from running down my cheeks.
“Mantha.” I heard Kay’s voice and I opened my eyes to see him standing beside me with someone standing with him too perhaps the one who was supposed to save her.
“She… She is dead.” I mumbled and he quickly crouched beside me, threw his hands around me and held me tightly, cuddling me.
“I am sorry,” he mumbled.
“She… She knew where the bus was headed but she… She could not even tell me before she died.” I replied him.
“It’s okay… We are going to find out somehow soon,” he said and kissed my forehead before helping me up.
He carried me in his arms and walked back to the car while I continued to stare back at the corpse of Clarice.
Perhaps she would not be dead if we had gotten to her a few minutes earlier? I sighed softly as Kay placed me in the car.
“I am sorry,” Cara said to me.
“Why… Why do you apologize? It’s no one fault.” I replied her, looking out of the window.
“Are you okay babe?” Kay’s voice called out to me.
“I am okay,” I replied to him and he revved the car into motion.
I sighed again and grabbed my phone to check the time, it was almost morning already and there was also a message from Cassie.
‘Hello, where did you go off to? Are you okay? Someone came to the mansion to ask of you’ the message read and I raised my brow in confusion for a moment.
I had no relation, I had no relative and my slave masters would not dare to come to Alpha Kayden’s mansion to search for me, they would not.
It left me a bit confused, I knew no one from outside that could have come to see me, I would have thought that it was Granny but not now… Granny is dead…..
I sniffed back tears at the thought of her corpse again and threw my head backwards, fighting back the tears that were threatening to roll off yet again.
“Everything would be okay.” I heard Kay’s voice.
“Everything would be okay,” Cara told me and I mumbled the same words to myself.
“Everything would be okay.” I kept on repeating the words over and over again till I finally fell asleep.

“Goodbye Mantha.” Granny waved at me.
“No, you can not leave me, Granny, you promised me that you would never let go of me,” I said to her but she said no words and just gave me her charming smiles and moved farther from me.
“Granny! You can’t leave me!” I screamed in tears and ran towards where she was.
Her smile disappeared and a stern look took over.
“You can’t follow me! Go back!”
“If I can’t follow you, then follow me, Granny,” I replied.
“I am sorry Samantha, I can’t follow you, listen to me Samantha, you have a whole lot of things to do, you still have Kayden who so much loves you, you still have the pack and others waiting for you to save them from everything that is happening. You have to do something about it and you can only do that if you don’t follow me,” she said to me with that kind voice but I was not having it.
“No! I would follow you then! I insist!”
“Look back at him…..” She said to me and I slowly turned to see Kayden behind me, he was a bit far from me but I could see his eyes.
“Do you want to leave him?” She asked and tears clouded my eyes yet again.
“I love you, Granny! I really do love you.” I said to her.
“I understand you, I love you too but you have your life to live, go back and be happy with Kayden,” she said to me.
“One more hug then?” I requested from her and she opened her arms widely.
I ran into her open arms and hugged her tightly, I held onto her tightly, hugging her like I was trying to squeeze my soul into her body.
“Goodbye Samantha.” her cracking voice said and slowly but steadily her body vanished under my hug.
Her hands that wrapped around me vanished into thin air and tears rolled down my eyes.
Her body vanished totally and I let out a scream.
“Granny!!!!!!!”
******
“Granny!” I shouted.
“I am here, it’s okay, I am still here for you,” Kayden said to me as I slowly opened my eyes to see him.
I hugged him tightly and he hugged me back, throwing his larger arms over me and pulling me in a warm embrace.
“Granny… She… She is really gone.” I wept.
“I would remain here with you forever,” he said and I pulled back from the hug.
“Promise me that you would always be here.” I requested from him and he nodded.
“Words Kay, please promise me that you would not leave me like my parents, granny or Clarice,” I said to him.
“I promise you, Samantha, I would forever be by your side,” he promised.
“Are you sure you would not break your promise?” I asked him.
“I would never break my promise to you. Alphas do not break their promises,” he said to me and I hugged him once more.
“Thank you so much for promising me Kay and thanks in advance for keeping the promise,” I replied to him and he patted my back.
“Would you get back to sleep?” He asked.
“What about you? Aren’t you going to sleep yet?” I asked him.
“Oh, not yet,” he replied.
“Why? You look tired.” I said to him.
“I am not tired at all. I am still very much okay, I would just get some things done and come back to you,” he said, kissed my forehead and walked out of the door.
He was tired, I could feel it but he was refuting the fact because he wants to be that perfect and strong Alpha.
“He is really strong,” Cara said to me.
“I know and as his mate, we can’t afford to be weak too,” I replied her.
“Sure enough! We would have to get something done about this issue too.”
“But then Kayden is really protective, he is not going to really let me go off to find out things so I would have to do some things on my own and to do that, I have to shut you off from Jay for now.”
