Samantha’s POV
There were not many of them but just one but still yet I could feel my heart hammering against my rib hard.
My neck was exposed and the only thing that might be concealing me right now was the distance between us. I quickly tore my gaze off his before he would find it quite familiar.
“We are now good enough Mantha, you cannot let him affect you. You have trained hard, you are good now, you have Kayden, none of them has any impacts on you anymore.” Cara said to me trying to make me feel stable again and it quite did work especially when my eyes found Kay’s eyes.
He flashed me a small smile but behind his smile, I could very well feel his nervousness.
I turned to face Lauren who stood firm with a smirk on her face, she had a small smirk on her face.
“And I announce the start of the contest.”
I cracked my bones and tried to take in the posture of Lauren, it was the first thing to study in your enemy.
I took in her postures and immediately noted down the points that would affect her badly.
I did not charge first, it wasn’t advisable to do so, that’s what Kay told me.
I struck a fighting pose and as the aggressive one between the both of us, Lauren charged forward with a leap that I quickly dodged.
The leap would have landed her on my neck and pulled me down. She landed on the floor and before she could roll off from the spot she landed, I moved towards her and gave her two combos.
She eventually pushed me off and aimed to punch my face but I was quick to roll away and her hand punched into the hard ground.
I grabbed her neck and pushed her to the floor before she would recover from the pains in her knuckles.
I pulled her up from the floor and landed a punch on her face, she tried to do the same but I dodged but I was not so lucky to dodge the second one.
I staggered backwards and it was pure luck that I could dodge the kick that she sent.
I moved backwards and decided to use my premium strength since she was willing to use that method.
I threw a flying kick but she dodged the first one. I landed on the floor on both feet and threw a double flying kick. It was too fast and she could not dodge both, only Kayden had been able to dodge it.
She fell to the floor and I moved closer to her, she grabbed my leg and pulled me to the floor.
She sat on me and rushed me with a whole lot of punches that I tried to block off miserably.
“Samantha!” I heard Cassie scream and with every strength in me, I pushed Lauren off me and sat on her.
I punched her furiously, the thoughts of the time when she starved I and Cassie, the time she slapped me, the moment she ruined my phone, the moment she called me a thief, the thoughts of everything rushed to me and it made me even more furious.
I picked her up from the floor like she had no weight of her own and slammed her to the floor with a scream.
She let out a scream and pushed me off her, slamming me to the ground. My back ached and hurt but I didn’t spend too much time on the floor.
I did a flip and landed back on my feet.
The both of us were meters away from each other, staring at each other with venom. The crowd was totally quiet.
“Aaaaaaaaargh!!” We both let out a piercing scream as we rushed towards each other.
She had a higher punch level so I kept mine low towards the point of her stomach.
Immediately we got to each other with the speed we started with, I slid my knees to the floor and sent my fist into her stomach.
The heavy punch pushed her backwards and she fell to the floor. The force I had used made me do a roll on the floor before standing back on my feet.
I stared at the crowd that stared expectantly at Lauren who could not get up anymore.
“Wow!!!!”
“You are the best!!!”
“Amazing!!!!” I heard screams and as usual, Cassie and James were the loudest.
I looked toward where Kayden was seated and he flashed me a smile that made me even more proud, his smile told me that he was totally astonished and pleased with my performance.
I looked at his dad and weirdly he had a small satisfied smile on his face that left me puzzled for a moment.
“How was that Cara?” I asked her.
“That was amazing! The next round is about the both of us, let’s see how much better we can do.”
I smiled proudly in the crowd that was cheering for me. The same crowd that did not acknowledge me earlier.
There were still some grumpy ones that did not cheer for me at all but I did not mind.
I walked up to Lauren and stretched my hand to her with a small smile.
“Need a hand?” I asked her, requesting to help her up.
“I don’t need your help.” she groaned and got up with a whole lot of groaning.
“Are you sure you would be able to keep up with the next stage of the contest?” I asked Lauren while the both of us moved forward to listen to the result announced, the result that everyone was already so sure of.
“I do not need your sympathy Mantha, and you just watch out how I am going to lash you out at the second stage.” she gritted her teeth.
“There is really no need to be so angry,” I mumbled to her.
“Just keep quiet!” She groaned and we both watched Kayden’s Dad walk up to the podium.
“Ladies and gentlemen, as we all can very well see, the winner of this stage of the contest is….. Samantha from the blue moon pack!”
