Samantha’s POV
My heart raced to overhear that. Hell, how did I get into a bet with him?! Now I had to kiss him for five minutes in front of his mum, dad and Lauren.
“Yeah it would be great to kiss him in front of Lauren to let her know who is in charge,” Cara said to me.
“Thinking of it, that is actually true, but then his parents, gosh! I am going to be so embarrassed.”
“Embarrassed? Is there a better way to introduce you as his mate other than kissing you?” Cara asked.
“Are you only going to support Kay and not me? I grumbled and she chuckled.
“I am going to support you when you do something that goes right with me,” she replied.
“You are so much of a betrayal,” I grumbled.
“What are you thinking about so much?” Kay asked.
“You did not include this when we were about to place the bet,” I said to him.
“Well I did include that whatever way it goes depends on me,” he replied.
“Using your businessman tactics oh me, right?” I asked and she merely smirked with a shrug.
“You’re.. ..”I huffed and looked away.
“Deal!” I agreed with his term and he wrapped his hand around my shoulder.
“When are we going to go to see them?” I asked, not wanting to concentrate on the movie anymore since it was too scary for me to go on with.
“Are you that impatient to kiss me?” He asked inching closer.
“Could he try not to read deeper meanings into each sentence of mine?” I asked Cara.
“I think him reading meaning is very cool,” Cara replied and I sighed softly.
Here we go with her supporting him yet again.
“I am not impatient to kiss you,” I replied slowly in a shy manner.
“You could tell me if you want to kiss me after all this whole body of mine is yours,” he said naughtily.
“Keep your body to yourself and let me do the same,” I mumbled in a low voice.
“Well, the thing is I can’t let you keep your body to yourself because your body is now mine and no longer yours from the moment when you accepted to be my mate,” he said and carried me in his arms, surprising me yet again.
“What are you doing?” I buried my face in his chest.
“Taking care of you and getting you out of this place before you eventually get a heart attack in here.” he teased with a chuckle.
“You would never get tired of teasing me.”
“Yeah, that’s right. I would never get tired of anything that has to do with you.”
He carried me out of the cinema and placed me in the front seat. He walked over to the driver’s seat, got in and ignited the car into motion.
I was tired already from all the various activities that we had done in the day and in a few minutes, I fell asleep. My sleep was quite peaceful because I was fully aware now that Kay would never let go of me and he would always be there to protect me and guard me against whatever might be out there to get me.
I slept on for maybe minutes or maybe an hour before the car came to a halt and Kay tapped me gently.
“Hey, we are home already,” he said to me in a soft voice and I opened my eyes fully.
I alighted from the car and yawned sleepily.
“Hey, you can’t be sleepy yet, you have to eat dinner.” he reminded me.
“I would just have that tomorrow,” I replied him.
“Well, actually there is still one more thing I want us to do today but then we could do it tomorrow if you want,” he said.
“Let’s do it now, why do it tomorrow when we can just do it today?” I asked, trying to make him happy.
He smiled and held my hand in his and led me to the garden that James had warned me against, the garden where I had shifted.
“This garden… It means a lot to me, it was my most prized possession but now you are my most prized possession.” Kay said as we sat on the overgrown grass in the garden.
“It’s really beautiful.”
“Yeah but not as beautiful as you are. This garden holds a lot of memories for me, I don’t want to talk about it right now but here, I want to say goodbye one more time because I will be leaving what binder us together behind and going for you,” he said and kissed my hand.
“What binder you together?” I asked a bit curiously.
“Forget about it, I would tell you all about it some other time,” he replied and we both sat in silence, immersed in the beauty of the flower garden.
“There is definitely something Kay also has in his heart, a memory that haunts him also,” Cara said.
“I guess everyone has memories that do hurt them, we all just try to keep them in check,” I replied to her and stared at Kay, he looked a bit lost perhaps in the beauty of the garden.
We sat in the garden for almost an hour doing nothing and saying nothing. Eventually, he got up and I did the same also.
“Can I take care of this garden? It’s so beautiful and it hurts me that it is overgrown.”
“I thought you were never going to ask.” he chuckled and I smiled.
“Is that a yes?” I asked.
“Of course it is,” he replied and kissed my forehead.
“And about what you said the other time, about you picking when we are going to mate, I agree to it. I would not do anything to you until you are ready yourself, I promise,” he said lovingly and I hugged him tightly.
“Oh no! That’s not right! You are supposed to seduce her and mate quickly.” Cara grumbled.
“Mantha, I want you to promise me something,” he said, pulling back from the hug.
“Promise me you would never let go of me, promise me you would always be by my side.” he requested and I forced a smile.
I might get taken away one day but then as long as I’m not taken away, I would be with him.
“I promise you,” I replied him.
“I love you.” he hugged me and we stood right in the middle of the garden, hugging each other and feeling each other’s heartbeat.
