CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ONE
Adele was seated in her cubicle in the joined office, completely lost in thought. She was thinking about a lot of things, especially about the fact that Shannelle couldn’t just be nice to her even for a single second. The previous night, she(Shannelle) had provoked her and only Jamal’s intervention made her not burst into tears.
Everyday of her life, she wondered what it was about her that caused her mother and sister-in-law to hate her so much. She wondered what she had done to make them despise her so much. No matter how much her husband loved and cared for her, no matter how much she tried to convince herself that his love and acceptance was enough for her, she knew deep down in her heart that she needed both Shannelle and Aliya’s love before she’d ever feel welcomed into that family as a daughter-in-law.
“Tsss…” She sighed for the millionth time that morning with her eyes squeezed shut and her nostrils breathing out hot air.
She was tired and wished everything could go smoothly.
“Guys!” Lois, one of her colleagues called in a harsh whisper as she rushed into their office. Everyone abandoned what it was they were doing and looked up at her, eager to hear what gossip she had brought to share this time around.
Even Adele looked up at her even though she was the least interested in what she had to say.
“Spill already!” Kelly agitated when Lois hesitated.
“Guys, it has been confirmed by a reliable source that our boss, Mr. Jamal King is indeed married!” Lois announced almost breathlessly, still in a harsh whisper. Adele’s heart fell into her abdomen and she lifelessly raised her head up to look at Lois who was standing at the center of the office.
She knew she needed to act calm so she swallowed her nervousness and cleared her throat before keeping a straight face.
“What?”
“I swear.”
“What reliable source?” Adele asked, trying her best to sound as neutral as possible.
“One of his guards. I wasn’t told his name, but I believe the news since it came from a guard, you know how close they are to him.”
“Wow! If he is indeed married, what could be the reason why he keeps hiding her?” Ward wondered aloud. He leaned on the backrest of his chair and intertwined his fingers together, staring blankly at the ceiling, probably thinking about the possible reasons why their boss would decide to hide his marriage.
“Well, maybe he just doesn’t want the world prying into his affairs. Marriage is a pretty private affair, but for a man as famous as he is, his marriage would be made a public affair if he ever discloses the fact that he is married. Maybe he’s just trying to avoid that.” Kelly suggested and Adele smiled at her.
She always had something very reasonable to say.
“Until when?” Asked Cole at the door.
He was always the one standing at the door whenever they had to gossip about their boss so as to avoid someone barging in on them and causing trouble.
“Until he’s ready.” Kelly shrugged her shoulders.
“Well…” Adele decided to chip in. “Mr. King is a very wealthy and powerful man and we all know that with great power comes great responsibility. Maybe he doesn’t want his marriage being public because of those responsibilities. The guy has friends as well as he has enemies. Enemies who want to bring him down at all costs and you know one of the weakest points of a man is his family. He’s surely trying to avoid being in a situation where his enemies would use his weakness to get to him, maybe that’s why he doesn’t want anyone knowing that he’s married or worst still, the identity of his wife.” She calmly explained and everyone began nodding their heads and some exclaimed in awe.
“That makes a lot of sense.”
“You know, I’m actually convinced that Mr. King is married.” That was Ward.
“Why?” Kyle asked with creased brows.
“Well, we all know the funny chemistry he used to have with Danielle Owens. They have been close for the longest time, but lately, he has done nothing but chase her away. At some point, we all thought that was the girl he was going to get married to, but after witnessing all that has transpired between them these past weeks, I’m tempted to believe the fact that he has another woman whom he loves very much and that woman is most certainly his wife.”
“If that’s the case then she’s a very lucky girl. Imagine being the wife of such a rich and powerful man. That’s what we call hitting the jackpot.” Lois added in so much excitement.
“Well, we all know Mr. King to be a very good business man with good looks and all, but none of us really know what kind of man he is or what kind of husband he is. We are not sure if he is a good husband to his wife, so let’s not term her lucky yet. He hasn’t even announced it yet.”
“If I were married to a man like Mister King, I wouldn’t care if he treated me like trash or if he didn’t want to announce me to the public as his wife. All I’ll be concerned about is living my best life with all that money he has.” Lois exaggerated and Adele calmly shook her head with a smile plastered on one side of her lips.
“You have no idea what you just said, Lois. Pray nothing like that ever happens to you.” She cautioned, indirectly referring to herself.
“His wife must be from a very wealthy home. Her father is prolly some other business tycoon or some governor’s daughter or even president’s daughter.” Kelly speculated.
“Or maybe his wife is just an ordinary girl like you and me.” Adele looked at her and smiled.
“I highly doubt that Mr. Kind will settle for ordinary.” Kelly denied and she just nodded her head and leaned on her backrest.
“Well he did.” She whispered inaudibly as a wide smile spread on her face.
What she did not notice was that Ward was watching her very carefully and his suspicions had been raised.
***********************************************
“It was hot at the office today.” Announced Adele as she stepped out of the bathroom with a white towel tied around her body and her wet hair wrapped in another one which was smaller. Jamal, who was working on his laptop on the bed, stopped and looked up at her.
“What happened?” He asked curiously and Adele smiled.
He looked up at her.
That was something he never did when they first got married, but now, he always made sure to give her the attention she needed whenever she asked for it.
“Well…I’m going into the closet, if you wanna hear the full story, follow me.” She winked at him and disappeared into the closet. Jamal, who was eager to hear the story, closed his laptop and did as told.
“What is it th…” The words got stuck in his throat when he walked into the closet and met his wife stark naked.
He eyed her perfectly curvy figure from head to toe and gulped dryly. She was gorgeous as usual and the urge to take her right there took over him, but he managed to get a hold of himself and be still.
Adele, who was well aware of what she just did, smiled cornily as she walked past him in the most seductive way over to the side of the closet where her nightgowns were kept.
“Well, I’m listening.” Said Jamal as he made himself comfortable on the closet island.
“A reliable source has confirmed the fact that we are married and that source happens to be one of your guards.” She explained and Jamal exhaled heavily as he brushed his right palm over his face before looking at her.
“I knew this day was going to come. You didn’t think they were going to keep it in forever, did you?” He asked and Adele pouted her lips. She was applying lotion on her body at that moment and she deliberately made sure to focus on rubbing her breasts in front of Jamal whose sanity at that moment could be seen hanging on a fragile threat. It was going to break free soon and he’ll lose his mind.
“So, what should we do about it?”
“Let’s announce our marriage to the world.” He told her and she paused and gave him a critical look.
“Are you sure that’s what you want?” Adele asked with raised brows and Jamal quickly nodded.
“Yes, I’m sure. Let’s make the announcement so you can quit your job already.”
“Quit my job?” She asked aghast. “I’m not going to quit my job.”
“I’m not going to keep letting you work after making that announcement, what the heck!”
“Jamal…”
“Or we’ll look into that promotion.”
“That’ll be favoritism.”
“I don’t fucking care. Adele, I won’t have you as my wife working in the same office as those…” He stopped talking and looked at her.
“As those?” She urged him to complete the statement but he shook his head and stepped down from the kitchen island, making his way over to her.
He took calm, calculated steps over to where she was standing and when they were just a few inches away from each other, he stopped and looked down at her. She was still stark naked and he could feel the heat radiating from her body. He calmly took her hands in his and kissed them passionately before looking at her once more.
“Let’s talk about this once the announcement has been done, yeah?” He asked as calmly as he could and a wave of relief washed through his when Adele nodded with a smile
“Yeah.”
“Good! For now, that’s enough provocation for one night. Come here.” He stopped down and lifted her up into his arms. Adele giggled loudly and threw her head backwards when she understood what he had just said.
“I wasn’t provoking you.” She lied.
“Oh yeah?” Jamal asked, placing her on the Closet island. He parted her legs and steps between them. Adele looked into his eyes and she could see how aroused he was already. He was ready to devour her.
“I have always wanted to take you on this island. Thank you for creating the perfect opportunity.” He slipped his hand around her waist and pulled her close to him. His erect bulge hit her v-region and she moaned in pleasure. She was as well ready for him.
With a sly smile on her face, she leaned closer to his ear to whisper something to him.
“I want you to make me scream and beg.” Those words alone and the tone she used almost made Jamal cum.
