{Cali’s Address, The Agency}
Zoey POV
All through our drive to the agency was a quiet one, we had conversation though but silence was most of it. Apart from Ann’s words and Calvin asking me something, all I did was humming and I think he noticed something was off with my attitude. I don’t care at this very moment, but the fact that Pooja showed up in that hospital gives me another weird thought.
The hospital isn’t the famous type and to think of it, Calvin brothers are the owners. Her showing up isn’t a coincidence, it’s intentional. I rest my head on the tinted car window, using my left eyes to see Calvin but he focuses on the driving instead.
“Can’t he notice something is weird with his assistant showing up the moment I decided to come for a check up? ” I thought, staring at him seriously. Curiosity started eating me up and I felt unsafe.
“Gosh what’s this now? ” I mumbled beneath my breath, just to catch his attention and I successfully did.
“What’s wrong? Are you okay? ” He asked worriedly. I fake a groan and he slows down a bit.
“Did you feel any discomfort? ” He asked worriedly.. I nodded and parked his car before turning to look at me.
“Where? ” He panicked, more like he’s desperate to know how I’m feeling but here I am, feeling nothing. Just wanted to catch his attention and I did. I don’t know how to ask him this question in my mind without getting him angry. I just don’t know why he trusts his personal assistant so much.
“Babe.. ” He called worriedly, I stared at him and he sighed deeply.
“Did you do this, just to get my attention? ” He asked and I nodded.
“Gosh! You got my heart beating more than its usual beating. He uttered and he looked at me. You want something? ” He asked with his hand on the car steering.
“Of course! But first. ” I managed to soften my voice in a way I could muster.
“I will gladly l—”
“You won’t glady listen.. ” That’s how you have been saying it but you don’t listen to how concerned I used to feel, how scared I am sometimes, my thoughts. Because you think she’s not suspicious. ” I breathed heavily when I realized I just lash out my anger on him.
“What’s going on babe? … I just said I will gladly listen to you. ” He uttered, looking confused.
“You can ignite the engine. ” I mumbled and he did just like I said. The journey continues but here am I, battling with my thoughts. I decided to speak up, now it’s left for him to believe my words. Perhaps do some research on her.
“Do you think Pooja showing up there isn’t a coincidence? ”
“She came to visit a friend at the hospital, what’s the coincidence there? ” He uttered and I hummed.
“I guess my view is different but I wish you could see my view. ” I mumbled in frustration.
“What view? Pooja isn’t the type. See, I understand your point of her feeling suspicious but if you get closer to her. You will know she’s different, I’m the one working with her for years… Come on,,, She’s not the type… If you want to see her information, I can send it to you. ” He uttered and I hummed.
“I just hope he won’t be late before he realizes it. ” I thought. We drove inside the agency company and drove to the parking lot. I got out of the car with Ann with me. I held her hand and we walked inside the agency building.
Without wasting our time at the reception. We were directed to cloud 9 which was meant for the CEO and other subordinates. We were welcome warmly and Calvin went straight to the point. We got photos of Ann’s elder sister from the day one they came here. The CEO made Ann sign the adoption form, Calvin and I did also.
“Do you want her to reunite with her sister? ” The aged CEO asked but Ann didn’t reply.
“Yes. I want to meet Crystal… ” She replied and the CEO smiled. He wrote out the address Crystal said she’s serving.
“Wait, isn’t this Cali’s home?. ” “I ask no one in particular. Calvin collected the A4 paper from me and he chuckled.
“It states Andrew Webster was the one that applied for some maids to Cali’s address… ” Calvin uttered and I laughed.
“Do you know them? ” The CEO asked and we nodded.
“Wow. That’s going to make it easier then. ” The man said with a smile on his face. We stood up to exchange handshakes, he escorted us out of his office.
“What’s Andrew’s relationship with Cali? ” I mumbled but I guess Calvin heard me as we were about to enter the elevator.
“I’M CURIOUS… ” He mumbled and the elevator closed up.
