Chapter 90

Book:Cursed Alpha's Witch Mate Published:2024-5-31

She had tamed his wolf and gotten it to sleep in her arms; he couldn’t believe it. What kind of witchcraft is this? who was this mysterious woman?
In response to the King’s grumpy glare, Ella forced herself to swallow. She felt quite uneasy and frightened. Or…. Could he have recalled everything that had occurred in his life? Of course he did!
Ah! Sigh of relief. In any case, the King now has something else to spend his attention on.
Viscar saw the King staring at Ella, who was lying on the floor and looked like a snail.
“Uhm…. “My King,” he cried out. Time to go. His neck was covered with slashes, and his leg was gushing. Spenser groaned and rose up, pulling his attention away from Ella, who wondered how he managed to walk without jumping.
“Is Carcus improving?” He cocked his head towards Viscar’s direction and inquired. “yes, yes. He’s OK now; the King’s assault on him had a profound effect on the old man, but he’s back on his feet and walking on his own, ” Viscar said. A moment passed before Spenser whispered, “Let’s go,” and led the way out of the cave.
Viscar paused and cast his grumpy eyes on Ella. As it turns out, he was the only one to see the King’s wolf dozing in her arms before the King made his change. The savage wolf that had almost killed him and the Physician was now resting sweetly in her arms? He was astounded beyond words. Seriously, how is it even possible?
Ella was aware of his staring at her and wondered whether he would have a chance to do so.
“Are you okay?” The question came out of nowhere and viscar was amused by her reaction. “Y…. Yes, I’m alright. She looked down sheepishly as she said “thank you,” then looked up as he began to leave. Yes, at long last. She took a deep breath and continued on.
They emerged from the cave to where their horses were chained, but since Ella stayed behind, she had to share her meal with Viscar.
Although the full moon had long since disappeared, the sky was still quite blue, providing enough illumination for their journey. Everyone appeared to be listening intently to the crickets’ chirping as there was complete silence. Since the full moon had passed, there was no longer any distant howling, which meant that the wolves had likely all relocated.
Ella, who was riding shotgun, couldn’t help but stare at the King as they went, seeing his odd composure and wondering what may be occupying his thoughts. She felt a shiver go down her spine as she thought of the times they’d shared. That moment was too holy for even the gods to comprehend. It caused her cheeks to flush, so she hurriedly looked away from his muscular back.
When they finally returned to the Palace, guards were waiting for them at the stables.
Spenser dismounted his horse and walked straight in without stopping to look at anybody. Not wishing to leave the King alone, Viscar waited for Ella to descend before descending as well. As Ella gazed about, she became aware of the guards’ intense attention on her. They undoubtedly thought it was strange that she went out with the King during a full moon.
She began to move away, presumably to avoid more scrutiny.
“Ella!
Diana yelled, “Come here!,” and hurried to where she was waiting.
“Thank you,! Finally, you’ve returned! ” With a gasp, she drew Ella into a tight embrace that left her feeling relieved.
“Diana. What are you doing outdoors, anyway? “They broke apart from the embrace but continued to hold her hands, and she questioned, “Why?” I couldn’t sleep for worrying about you, of course. In what way did this occur? It’s ridiculous how long you took. ”
She looked all over her body to make sure she wasn’t harmed and concluded that she wasn’t. Is it true that the tea helped the King? Sighing, Ella shurgged.
“Well…. not It’s just the tea. To be honest, I didn’t get to serve him the tea. “Clearly, Diana was confused.
“You didn’t? So, what exactly transpired? Have you been hiding? Ella didn’t respond to her question.
“All right, you guys. Let’s go in first,” he said, and he entered the building while still holding her hand.
Five seconds after King Spenser entered his apartments, Viscar followed.
“What in the world happened? You say your wolf fell asleep in her arms; how did it happen? ”
It was still and dark in the chamber, so Spenser grabbed for his light and switched it on. “I’d be the happiest man if I had answers to that question, Viscar,” he grumbled as he walked away from the guy with his back turned.
What happened to make my wolf so submissive to a human female, I have no idea.
He rolled his eyes and snorted.
“Wh…. “In the first place, she had no business being there. Viscar questioned, furrowing his brows. Spenser stopped, sitting on the “I can’t even express it, Viscar. While I may have been tempted to inflict harm on her, I was ultimately restrained, particularly when she begged me not to. ”
Something very peaceful suddenly washed over me, and it shattered my rage and craving for killing. He stopped again, this time with a sigh, “I immediately wanted nothing more than to touch her, to be in her arms. Whoever she is, that woman is one of a kind, Viscar. “He continued.
For a moment, Viscar was at a loss for words, perplexed. It had been almost a decade since anything like her existed, so she really was exceptional. Apparently a woman’s touch can tame the King’s wolf. That was the weirdest thing ever…. Oh! For the sake of his buddy the King, he fervently hoped that Ella was sincere. He has consistently asked God for guidance in finding answers to his questions. The shape that this answer eventually took was that of a human being.
Upon waking up the next day,
Forcing Ella out of bed was an order from one of the King’s soldiers. A messenger informed her that the King needed her in his private quarters.
Ella hurried anxiously to the King’s apartments, hoping everything would be well. After their meeting the night before, and the way he had been gazing at her, she had suddenly felt vulnerable. After a little while, the guard came back and escorted her inside.
As Ella entered the frigid rooms, the first thing she saw was the plate of hot meal waiting for the King. After a quick glance around, she spotted the monarch relaxing in a chair by the window, immersed in his reading.
