Chapter 200

Book:Reborn, I Feel So Great Published:2024-5-31

Jack spoke with lowered eyes, filled with obscurity and hatred: “It was my father.”
I looked at Jack in shock… How could this be?
His beloved sister was killed by his own father?
My heart was filled with sympathy, but I didn’t know how to comfort him.
Jack lifted his cup and drank it down.
As he went to pour another, I took the bottle and poured him half a cup.
“?”
why he did that.
“He…” Jack narrowed his eyes. “I can’t even talk about the things he did. Do you want to listen?”
But it didn’t seem right to listen to someone else’s privacy.
Before I could speak, Jack had already taken out his phone and found the recording, playing it.
There was some background noise in the audio, but it was clear enough to hear a conversation between a man and a woman.
As the call connected, the man asked, “Where are you going?”
The woman replied, “I’m going to see Nelson.”
The man coldly rebuked, “You’re not allowed to go. You’re delusional if you think Nelson really loves you. How could he sleep with someone else if he did?”
The woman helplessly explained, “I already figured out the cause and effect of that incident. Nelson didn’t do it on purpose. He was drugged and couldn’t control himself. We’ve worked it out and are reconciling. You don’t need to interfere anymore. I won’t marry that playboy. I don’t love him.”
The man angrily cursed, “Are you crazy? We need financing urgently. I already told people that our companies will join together and thrive…”
The woman impatiently interrupted him and said, “The company’s poor performance is because of your incompetence. You’re the CEO of the group. The company’s problems are your problem, not my responsibility.”
“You’re a rich girl.”
“So what? Why can your marriage do whatever it wants, but mine has to sacrifice for the company?”
“You dare!”
The man’s voice suddenly became sharp. “Let me tell you, you will marry whether you like it or not!”
The woman let out a heart-wrenching scream. “You… Andrew, you’re despicable.”
“Say what you want, I’m giving you half an hour…” He didn’t finish his sentence before a piercing scream from Nadele could be heard on the other end of the phone, followed by the sound of screeching brakes and two cars colliding, and then everything returned to silence…
I looked at Jack, who was looking sad, not sure what to say.
Jack put away his phone, looking slightly embarrassed but still smiling. “Andrew told me that Nelson was responsible for my sister’s death, so all these years, my biggest hatred has been towards Nelson.
But it wasn’t until today that I realized I almost became a part of Nelson’s family. Do you think my life is a joke?”
I didn’t know how to comfort him, so I just raised my glass and drank with him.
They say alcohol can alleviate worry, but in reality, it’s not the alcohol that alleviates worry, but oneself! The two of them drank in silence for a while, and Natashsa suddenly thought of something and asked, “The name Bernard seems familiar. Is he that Bernard?”
Jack turned his head and leaned lazily on the sofa. Although he looked nonchalant, his voice was serious as he said, “Who else could be the playboy named Bernard besides him?”
Bernard is Eric’s cousin! This is an old story from twenty years ago. Is it a coincidence or a deliberate arrangement?
“Was Bernard also forced into this marriage by his family?”
Jack clenched his fists, his eyes filled with hatred. “Of course not.”
Bernard fell in love with Nadele at first sight in a bar and flirted with her, but he was beaten up by her in return.
Ever since then, he had been obsessed with Nadele.
When he learned that Nadele had already had someone else, he took advantage of the opportunity.
After hearing that Nadele and Nelson broke up, he immediately arranged for his family to deceive Andrew into agreeing to this marriage under the pretext of a joint marriage and financing between the two families.
However, after Nadele and Nelson reconciled, she told Bernard that it was impossible for them to be together.
But Bernard was not willing to be inferior to Nelson, so he pressured Andrew.
This ultimately led to the tragic outcome.
As Jack spoke, he pounded the side of the sofa forcefully. “I will never let that old bastard Bernard go! He must pay the price for my sister’s death.”
“What do you want to do? Your father still has a cooperation with Eric.”
“Cooperation?”
The hatred faded from Jack’s eyes, leaving only endless resentment. “Neither Ted Group nor Qi Corporation will get away with this. Bernard may have been wrong, but my selfish father was even more wrong. They all have to take responsibility for my sister’s death!”
Natasha looked at Jack, full of hatred in his eyes, and couldn’t help but frown.
She had come to regard Jack as a friend from the bottom of her heart. Seeing him consumed by hatred, she knew how much it hurt… but she couldn’t persuade Jack to back down, because she knew firsthand how painful it was to let hatred fester in your heart.
She raised her glass to Jack. “Jack.”
Jack looked up at her and reined in his emotions.
Natasha smiled. “I wish you success in avenging the person you love most. If there’s anything I can do to help, just ask. I won’t refuse.”
Jack grinned, his habitual smirk curling his lips. “You care about me that much?”
Natasha gave him a sidelong glance. “If you say anything else, I’ll leave.”
“Don’t, don’t,” Jack waved his hand and smiled. “I don’t want to be alone and miserable. Stay with me for a while longer, will you?”
Natasha spoke solemnly, and the two clinked glasses and continued drinking.
An hour later, Natasha was already drunk.
