Alina sucked her nose in aggravation.
Chester hugged her and closed his eyes, having the thought of breaking Caleb into pieces.
He was wrong.
Even then, she could have been afraid of seeing him like this and would have run away from him, but he should have appeared in front of her earlier.
After all, at that time, Caleb didn’t even think he would come back alive, plus he originally had feelings for Alina as well.
So it was not surprising at all that Caleb at that time would behave in any way towards Alina.
He was ready to take care of her for the rest of his life, just didn’t expect Chester to come back eventually.
“Are you angry?”
Alina asked in a soft voice.
Her voice was soft, while clearly tinged with fear.
She seemed so afraid that he would be angry that she asked the question with caution.
Chester, “No, I’m not angry with you, I’m just angry with myself, don’t be afraid of me, okay?”
Her subconscious fear of him pained him too.
He did not want Alina to be afraid of him, he wanted her to never be defenceless against him, never to be afraid of him.
Alina, “Then don’t be mean to me.”
“Okay.”
Chester coaxed gently, fearing that she might be afraid of him.
It took a while to coax Alina.
Alina’s heart was very fragile now, and a glance from an onlooker could make her afraid.
To this, Chester was even more upset. So every time he went out, it took very short time and he came back at the shortest possible time.
“Brush your teeth first, then go down to eat, okay?” Chester pushed her out of his embrace and said in a warm voice.
If Alina was hungry in the morning, and went straight downstairs to eat.
All these bad habits were caused by Caleb before, and now Chester was correcting them little by little.
If it had been before, Alina would have made a fuss, but today, instead of making a fuss, she nodded her head in a good manner.
Chester put on a smile.
“It seems that you are still fear of me.”
“You will be mean.”
“And would Caleb have been mean to you before?”
Asking this question, Chester regretted it, although he knew that Caleb would not do anything to Alina that crossed the line.
But he was uncomfortable just thinking that Caleb had to help her change even her clothes.
He knew that Caleb had taken good care of her, but he didn’t know, exactly, how he had done it all.
Now, listening to the details of the problems that Alina was talking about, Chester realised that really knowing all of them was not necessarily something he could bear.
Alina, “He would.”
“He would?”
“Yes, he yelled at me.” Alina nodded.
Chester’s heart ached.
This damn Caleb, how dare he yell at her?
Didn’t he know she was sick? Whatever she’d done, it hadn’t been her intention, she hadn’t meant it.
How could he yell at her? How scared must she have been inside?
At this moment, Chester had completely forgotten that he had almost yelled at Alina just now as well, and he did not want there to be peace between Caleb and Alina.
But when he really heard that Caleb had even yelled at her then, he couldn’t help but feel a pain in his heart.
Alina, “Yes, he was so mean.”
With that, she looked at Chester with an aggrieved face.
This hurt Chester’s heart.
Chester hugged Alina, “Good girl, no one can yell at you anymore, okay?”
“Okay.”
Alina nodded obediently, but still gave Chester a suspicious look, “What about you?”
“I wouldn’t, how could I yell at you?” He had really just been angry with himself.
He didn’t expect her to be scared.
Although Caleb had said it time and time again before, he had only listened.
As for the specifics, he didn’t give it a second thought.
But now that he had truly seen Alina’s fear of all this, how could he still do anything to hurt her?
“Then I’ll trust you for once.”
Alina looked at Chester with some uncertainty, she was still as defensive as before when she was hurt.
Even though she had turned delirious now, her subconscious reactions were still the same as when she was awake.
Chester led the way, “Trust me for once, good girl.”
Alina nodded her head.
Chester took her to wash up.
It was a busy time for him, but he was basically the one who watched her washing up.
Because on her first day back, the maids here were not sure what exactly was going on with Alina, so they let her wash up on her own.
However, when she appeared in front of Chester, the toothpaste foam on the corners of her mouth was not even washed off.
After that, Chester never left her in the hands of anyone else.
Basically, no matter how busy he was, he did everything for her.
“Be careful, brush the inside too, not too hard.”
“Okay.” Alina nodded with her mouth full of bubbles.
Chester watched her somewhat clumsy movements.
Although he had let her do as much as possible on her own during this time, he couldn’t help but help her now when he saw how clumsy she was.
Taking the toothbrush from her hand, he carefully brushed her teeth.
Inside and out, she was brushed up.
When she was around Caleb before, she was very fond of sweets and probably had a toothache because she didn’t wash up thoroughly.
But Chester watched over her very closely, and she was not used to eating the sugar in Sinantu Pavilion, she had not had a toothache, at least not once now.
After washing it, he said, “Open it up and show me if your teeth are white.”
Chester coaxed her.
Alina opened her mouth to him, revealing the white teeth inside. Chester looked at her cute look and held her face and kissed it.
Alina whimpered and Chester gave her a hug and said, “Come on, I’ll take you to breakfast.”
“Okay.”
Alina was really hungry.
Chester was so slow to get up and dragged her along with him, making it difficult to get out of the house.
Alina wanted to go out in her pajamas as soon as she got up, but Chester wouldn’t allow it.
At the breakfast table, Alina saw Amy, who bought her another breakfast from outside, although the cooks here were good.
But all the dishes cooked were from Sinantu Pavilion, and Alina was obviously not used to eating them.
And here, no outsiders were allowed in.
That was why, until now, there had not been a single foreign cook here.
“Wow, there are buns.” Alina looked at the white buns and revealed a very greedy gaze.
Amy was content to see that Alina liked it.
Why did she think of using food to take care of Alina? It was that once in a while before, she had heard that Alina had not been eating well recently.
She was a very picky eater.
It occurred to her that Alina was not used to the food of Sinantu Pavilion.
There used to be a rule in the Spinster family that anyone entering in the castle had to be a local from Sinantu Pavilion.
The people of Sinantu Pavilion had never been to E City or those small places like Shirling.
This caused Chester a lot of headaches when it came to Alina’s meals.
Amy even noticed that Chester had been secretly learning how to cook recently.
