Chapter 559: Are You Feeling Sick Again?

Book:TEMPTING The Mysterious CEO Published:2024-5-31

Mia was Amy’s maid of honor. She looked stunning in a purple dress. Thea got to know her little sister was in the dressing room when she made it to the wedding site. However, before she could push open the door, she suddenly heard suppressed discussion behind the door.
“Who’s that old lady, though? Gosh… Who picked her dress? She looked like she was from the street.”
“I heard she was Thea Todd’s grandma.”
“Holy… Why would they bring someone like her into the wedding? I heard Thea Todd stole Amy’s ex-boyfriend just because she has a pretty face. They said she had no manners or education whatsoever.”
“There are countless women like that in showbiz. She didn’t have money or a background. I bet she must have used some sort of disgusting way to climb on Cody Bradley’s bed.”
“But Amy didn’t marry less, though. Frances is the fourth son of the Jonas family. He’s not bad compared to Cody Bradley.”
“I don’t understand Cody Bradley’s taste, though. If I was with a low-class woman like that, I wouldn’t even have the gall to show up here.”
Thea didn’t want to keep listening. She turned away and went back to where Cody was.
She didn’t care how people viewed her. But they couldn’t say things like that about her grandma. She didn’t expect these rich people to view her family this way.
Thea walked toward the lane, and she saw from the distance that Mom and Granny were talking about something.
Granny was wearing a black cocktail dress. That dress was not as expensive as other people’s outfits, but it was Grandma’s favorite dress.
She put this on, especially for this occasion, and she definitely didn’t deserve to be made fun of.
Thea sniffed, and her eyes went red. She started to regret coming here. Amy’s real friends were Mia and Candace. She didn’t even ask her to be her maid of honor. Thea knew she probably shouldn’t have shown up here.
They had their circle. If Thea didn’t come, Mom and Grandma wouldn’t have come. They were worried about her pregnancy. They always wanted to keep an eye on her all the time.
Most importantly, Thea knew those girls who gossiped about her and her grandma were Amy’s closest friends. If they talked about Granny that way, Amy must also.
Thea shook her head, knowing she should probably stop thinking about this.
It was no big deal. In the beginning, Mia had also mistaken her. And she could stomach it without making a fuss. She also could do it this time.
Thea took in a deep breath and wiped her face with her sleeve. She used her acting skills and pretended everything was fine before she approached Mom and Grandma.
“Thea? What are you doing here, babe? I thought you went to see Mia.” Cody walked over, asking curiously.
Thea smiled, “Oh, she’s busy. I’m just out here taking a walk.”
Cody noticed that Thea was feeling down,
“What happened? Are you feeling sick again?”
Thea nodded, deciding to use this as an excuse, “Yeah… I’m a little bit tired.”
Cody put the glass of wine down on the table, looking worried, “Do you wanna go back?”
Thea looked around, frowning, “I think it’s a bit rude to leave so early. I mean, this is Amy’s big day.”
Cody shrugged, “It’s okay. No one will even notice us.”
Thea shook her head, “I don’t think so. Let’s wait until it finishes.”
Cody suddenly got a bit mad, “It’s just a wedding. You’re worrying too much, Thea. Let’s go back.”
And then, despite Thea’s protest, Cody returns to their car.
Grace was the first one who noticed Thea leaving. She leaned into her mom’s ear, “Mom, Thea just left. Should we go back as well?”
Granny looked in Thea’s direction and found out her granddaughter had gone. So she stood up from her chair as well, “Yep. Let’s go back. I started to feel tired two hours ago.”
Mr. Weston noticed the two people were leaving. He didn’t say anything, standing up as well.
The old man noticed the way people looked at Granny a long time ago. It was quite rude. It pissed Mr. Weston off already. So he also decided to go.
Meanwhile, Mia was standing in the dressing room, her eyes spitting fire.
She just came back from the hall, and she happened to hear what the girls were talking about before she walked in the door.
Now, she was genuinely pissed off. What made her even angrier was that Amy was there when this conversation happened, and she didn’t even bother to stop it.
“Amy, I remember I told you before that Thea is my biological older sister, right?” Mia stood there, her arms folded before her chest, “I’d like to make it very clear today. Thea Todd is my sister, and her real name is Demi Weston. She’s the missing daughter of the Weston house. And she’s probably the cleanest actor in showbiz. You can’t talk about her or her grandma like that! I won’t tolerate this shit. Thea’s granny is a great lady, and she brought Thea up and kept her as her own. That made her a part of my family. If any of you dare to badmouth my sister or my grandma again, I won’t tolerate that! How could you guys judge people behind their backs when you didn’t even know them? It’s disgusting!”
Mia was so pissed off that she almost cried. But she managed to hold back her tears. What the heck was wrong with these people?
How could they do this just because they were rich?
They must be jealous of how lucky Thea was. This must be the only reason.
“And Amy,” Mia turned to look at Amy heatedly, “I thought you were taking Thea as a friend as well. I can’t believe you let this happen!”
Amy instantly apologized, “I’m so sorry… Mia… I didn’t mean to. I promise you this won’t happen again.”
Cristelle and Fritzi were about to visit the bride. Before they could knock on the door, they just heard everything outside of the door.
They both went mad as well.
When they dragged their husbands out of the wedding site, Drew and Linford were both confused. However, after hearing their wives’ explanations, they both thought they had made the right choice to leave the wedding.
Candace and Logan didn’t know what had happened. But they immediately left when they saw their parents leave.
Helena panicked as she got to know that a lot of people had just left the wedding.
After a while, the members of the Jonas family also left.
The whole scene suddenly became extremely awkward.
