Chapter 550: I Will Make It Up To You

Thea had no intention of assisting her in any way. She was not even close to being kind. She simply desired to find out what other secrets Maria had been keeping from her.
“My spouse has taken my daughter away from me. He kidnapped her and hid her in another country. He threatened me by using our daughter as a weapon. I could only carry out his instructions in their entirety. Now, Dali has gone bankrupt. Could I ask you to kindly make sure that my husband will not be able to get away with what he has done? Therefore, he will be sent to prison. And now it’s finally possible for my daughter and me to coexist without him?”
Thea was well aware that Maria would never let a guy convince her to give up on her life.
“But what you did to me was.” Thea began.
“I know… I will make it up to you. I swore to it. I’m willing to submit to virtually any form of discipline. Providing that you don’t prevent me from seeing my daughter. I beg of you, Thea… You are the only person who has the ability to assist me in this situation. Please… I have no one else I can turn to at this point.”
Thea gave a quick glance out the window before responding, “Okay… I shall see. I will do everything in my power to assist you if the circumstances let it.”
Maria was only happy that Thea didn’t turn her down directly.
“Thank you, Thea,” Maria let out a long breath, “Thank you for what you did for me, really.”
After hanging up the phone, Thea looked out of the window and started to space out.
Daisy’s voice was cold, “She has the gall to beg for your help. You’ve been bullied on the internet for 15 days! You should turn her down directly, Thea.”
Thea nodded, “I don’t want to help her. I just want the real bad guys to get punished.”
Daisy blinked, not quite understanding what her boss was talking about.

Cody came to pick Thea up since tonight was family dinner.
Cristelle and Fritzi were both so glad to see Thea again.
They knew Thea had gone through a lot this week. They asked her what she wanted to eat. Thea smiled and said a few random things.
Cristelle asked her to relax in the parlor with other people. But Thea still insisted on helping in the kitchen.
Cody didn’t want her to get too tired. So he went to help in the kitchen as well.
Thea looked preoccupied as she peeled potatoes, “Do you know anything about Maria’s husband? I heard he did a couple of nasty things as well. Should we investigate him?”
Cody looked up, “Oh, him. We’ve already sent him to jail.”
“What?!” Thea was surprised, “When did that happen?”
Cody explained, “This morning. He is also a part of this. He won’t get away with it.”
A big smile broke Thea’s face, “That’s awesome. How are you gonna deal with Maria, though?”
Cody shrugged, “She’s probably also gonna spend a couple of years in prison.”
“What if she has a good lawyer?” Thea asked carefully.
Cody realized what she was trying to do. He laughed, “If she gets the best lawyer, she still needs to go to court. The judge will decide it.”
That definitely made sense. Thea sighed and stopped asking anything.

The two families went to the table and started to eat. Everyone seemed happy since Thea’s matter had been solved.
Candace was laughing and talking all the time. It had been eight months after her wedding, and her belly was as swollen as a balloon.
Drew told a joke over a glass of wine. The joke was so funny, and Candace started to laugh.
However, her face suddenly went pale as she clasped her belly, looking painful, “Ow… Shoot. It suddenly hurts so much. To-Tommy. It hurts.”
Thomas went pale instantly, “What’s wrong, honey? Are you alright?”
Everyone instantly went nervous. Cristelle was the first one who shot up from her seat and dashed toward her daughter, “Sweetie, are you okay?”
“Everyone… Hurry up! The water has broken.” Fritzi announced with a scared look on her face.
Thomas and Cody instantly got Candace up from the chair, carrying her to the car.
Candace was crying in pain, “I… I can’t take it… It’s… It’s so painful… I can’t… Tommy Mom… Dad!”
Linford was the same way; he was quite pale. He was going from place to place, checking to see that everything was in order. When he heard Candace yell, “It’s okay, baby. “, he moved closer to Candace in order to grab her hand. “I’m here. You shouldn’t worry about it.”
Drew got in the car and tried to start it. Fritzi propped open the door of the minivan with his foot, in order for Candace to enter without colliding with anything.
Mia and Thea followed up on it as well, both of them feeling concerned.
After eight hours, just before dawn, the darkness was finally broken by the cries of two beautiful twins.
Candace quickly exhausted her last strength and collapsed into the cushion. Her face was drenched in sweat all the time. Her voice was also very faint as she questioned, “Where are the babies…? I… I’m interested in meeting them.”
Cristelle and Fritzi approached the bed to sit down.
They were all carrying infants in their arms at the same time.
“Candace, you’re fantastic. You are the proud mother of two adorable little twins. Take a gander at these. They have a charming appearance.”
Candace frowned as she looked at the two young faces and stared at them for a moment before asking, “What happened? Why are they so unattractive?”
Fritzi laughed and said, “Stupidly, they are not ugly. They are a dead ringer for both you and your husband. They are going to be much more stunning when they reach their full maturity.
“Really?” Candace questioned with a dubious tone.
“Really!” Fritzi and Cristelle both responded at the same time.
