Cody instantly summoned his house’s family doctor. The doctor did a test for the cup of tea. Not only the tea contained the herb, but it also had several ingredients that could induce cancer.
If a person drank it for too long, her body would definitely be destroyed by this drink.
Luckily, Thea hadn’t drunk this tea for too long yet.
But it would still take her a couple of days to get the poison out of her body. The doctor prescribed her some meds to make sure her liver was okay.
After the doctor left, Cody sent more men to investigate that woman secretly. He had a feeling that this must have something to do with Yolanda. The person behind all this would probably reveal his face soon.
Grace still looked pale after the doctor finally left, “I’ll stay here with you for the next couple of days, honey. I will cook for you and distribute your pills for you. Don’t eat anything on the crew. I will take care of it.”
Thea nodded. And then, she begged her mom not to tell Granny and Grandpa about this. She didn’t want the old people to get too worried.
Grace didn’t have a choice but to say yes. Thea, however, just couldn’t wrap her mind around the whole thing. She thought she and Maria were good friends. She didn’t know why Maria wanted to do this to her.
Thea felt betrayed. And she was scared. If people she thought were friends would just randomly sabotage her, she didn’t know who to trust anymore.
However, Thea still pulled herself together and showed up at the site the next day.
Maria was also there. Noticing Thea was using a different mug today, Maria suddenly had a bad feeling.
Thea, however, acted like usual. She was smiling when she saw Maria, “Maria, would you come over to my trailer after this scene? I have something to tell you.”
Maria took a deep breath and forced out a smile, “Of course.”
When they got in the trailer, Thea made sure the space was empty.
Daisy stood outside the door, and no one was allowed to get in.
Maria cleared her throat, “Thea, is there anything you want to talk to me about?”
Thea smiled, “Nothing special. I just don’t get it, Maria. I thought we were friends. Why did you try to drug me?”
Maria refused to admit it, “Drug you? What are you talking about? Why would I ever try to drug you? Are you out of your mind? I don’t even know what you’re talking about…”
And then, she whipped around, walking to the door of the trailer.
Thea, however, dashed forward and pulled her arm. She felt extremely disappointed, “Maria, can’t you see that I’m giving you one last chance? I know you never wanted to do this. Someone must have manipulated you. If you would admit it and tell me what happened, we don’t have to take this to the police. However, it seems you don’t want to fix this at all. I will call the police, Maria. And I’ve found a doctor to analyze the content of that mug. He said the tea contained Tibet Red Flower and carcinogens.”
Maria frowned, “No! It’s impossible. I’ve never put any carcinogens in.” And then, she instantly shut up, realizing this was probably Thea’s scheme.
Thea smiled coldly, “So, you admit that you put the herb in it? You put that thing in my tea so I won’t be able to give birth to any babies?”
Maria was still wearing her costume for the scene. Her forehead was covered by a cold sweat, and she didn’t know what to say or what to do anymore.
She thought for a second and decided to give up, “Thea… I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to do that to you. I was forced.”
“You’re forced so you can sabotage me?” Thea was truly disappointed, “Maria, tell me. Who sent you to do this?”
Maria shook her head, “I’m sorry, Thea. But I can’t tell you. If I tell you, my husband’s company will go bankrupt. Please let me take full responsibility.”
“And you’re gonna go to jail because you don’t want your husband to lose his company?” Thea looked at the woman before her, “Aren’t you afraid your husband will find your son a stepmother when you get in jail? Are you not afraid another woman will show up and take away everything you have? Maria, it’s not a wise decision to make.”
Maria shut her eyes and took in a deep breath before she spoke up again, “My husband would never do that to me. That is not who he is. Can’t you just forgive me so we will all let go?”
Thea was quite determined this time, “No.”
How did Maria even dare to ask to walk away freely after trying to take away her life?
Thea was deeply disappointed. She didn’t expect Maria to be so evil and stupid.

Cody’s men instantly followed up.
They found the person behind this farce very soon. It turned out the company of Maria’s husband had been in debt for a long time.
A couple of months ago, a company named Dali Entertainment decided to intervene. The mysterious company just randomly jumped out and saved the day, pulling the company out of debt.
“So… You’re saying that Maria did this because the representative of Dali Entertainment threatened her husband?”
Cody nodded, “It’s possible.”
Thea was confused, “Then why did this Dali Entertainment decide to sabotage me? I don’t even know it exists.”
Cody ruffled her hair, “We haven’t found that out yet. You should get more sleep. You still have a scene tomorrow.”
Thea sighed and turned around, hiding her hands under the pillow, “Fine.”
However, she still felt weird, “Maira has been in this business since a long time ago. She wouldn’t be that stupid to fall for a trick like this. Why did she decide to take full responsibility? I don’t get it.”
