Cristelle was the first one who saw her daughter walking in. She went forth with a big smile on her face, “Gosh… Sweetie, why are you still so skinny? Mr. and Mrs. Watson are here now. They’re all worried about you.”
Candace smiled shyly, “Mr. Watson, Mrs. Watson, it’s really nice to see you guys again.”
Thomas had been covering his face with one hand since he went into the house. However, he knew he couldn’t hide it anymore since everyone was giving him a weird look.
He put down his hand, and Cristelle gasped, “Jesus… What happened to your face, Thomas? I… I’m gonna fetch the first-aid kit. Just wait.”
“I’m okay, Mrs. Bradley.” Thomas instantly stopped the kind woman, “I just tripped a bit. I’m okay.”
“But you don’t look okay at all.” Cristelle shook her head, “We will take you to the hospital later.”
“No, no, no… Really,” Thomas waved his hands, “It’s really not that hurt.”
Thomas sneaked a glance at Linford. Linford looked calm enough. But it still scared Thomas because this could be the tranquility before the true storm.
Linford was actually extremely pissed now. He would have skinned this little brat if it didn’t break the law.
However, the genuinely happy look on Cristelle’s face made him stop. After that, the house of people started to plan the wedding.
Cristelle nudged Linford, ensuring he wasn’t pulling a face, “This is all your fault, Linford Bradley. Candace and Cody are the same age. Cody already got married this late, and Candace must also establish her own family now. Besides, don’t you want a lovely grandchild soon? Stop pulling a face.”
Linford glared. He turned to stare at Thomas. The idiotic smile on his face pissed him off even more.
Linford looked away.
He couldn’t understand why Candace fell in love with that guy. She should have found someone as excellent and smart as her older brother.
Candace didn’t realize that her dad was low-key angry at her choice over her future husband. She was only glad that her mom was actually happy for her.
She thought her parents would have kicked her out of the house after they got to know that she got pregnant before the wedding.
Was she thinking too much?
“You guys should have gotten married already. We didn’t even know that you two had been in a relationship. When are we gonna hold the wedding, though?” Cristelle said happily.
Thomas smiled, “We actually got registered a long time ago. Now we only need the wedding.”
“What? So soon? Candace, did you learn this from your brother?” Cristelle laughed. And then, she turned to Helena, “We really should start to prepare the wedding for the kids now.”
Helena and her husband were also smiling. They agreed that now they should get the wedding done.
“But when should we hold the wedding, though?” Cristelle asked, “Which day do you think is perfect for the wedding, Linford?”
Linford thought for a while, “We probably should ask Mr. Weston for the date.”
Grandpa Weston was drinking his tea. He looked up as he heard what Linford had just said. “I think the first day of the next month will be nice. What do you guys think? It’s New Year.”
Cristelle liked the idea, “Sounds great. What do you guys think?”
Helena and her husband also agreed, but they were still concerned, “New Year sounds amazing. But don’t you guys think it can be a bit rushed? It doesn’t leave us too much time to get the wedding prepared.”
Before Linford could say anything, Cristelle just cut in, “I think it will be okay. I got Candace’s wedding dress ready a long time ago. As for the invitations, I believe we can send them out as fast as possible with so many people helping us. Linford got his daughter’s wedding jewelry made a long time ago. So it shouldn’t be a problem.”
Thea’s eyes widened. Had they gotten everything ready a long time ago? Gosh… Cristelle did want her daughter to get married.
Candace also looked like she was shocked, “When did you even get all those things ready, Mom? You want me to get married that much?”
Cristelle was smiling as she pulled Candace in and gave her a big kiss on the forehead, “Of course I want you to get married. So you will start your own family and live a happy life.”
The most important thing was that Cristelle knew everything about Thomas. She had known Thomas since he was just a little boy. She felt safe that Candace would marry someone she and her family knew.
After seeing Cristelle in such a good mood, Linford pushed all of his thoughts and opinions far down inside his throat.
Although Thomas had his moments of boredom, he was an overall pleasant child.
Linford was confident that he would look after Candace. Cody is far more intelligent and strong than Thomas will ever be. When Linford contrasted him with other men, though, he found that he was still fairly capable of conducting business.
Fritzi felt extremely envious as she witnessed Cristelle’s overflowing joy at the news that her daughter was engaged to be married.
“Candace’s holding a wedding now. I’m really jealous.”
Thea couldn’t simply act as though she didn’t notice or care about what was going on around her.
Mr. Weston exhaled deeply before continuing, “And Candace is even going to give birth to a baby. Just try to picture how overjoyed the family would be to welcome the new little one into the world. I can only dream of being so fortunate as to have a great-great-grandson so soon.”
Thea quickly cleared her throat before turning her head away from the window and pretending that she hadn’t heard that either.
This did not sit well with Cody since he believed today was supposed to be about Candace. “Why are you folks bringing up Thea and me in this conversation yet again? In addition to that, Thea and I have already settled on a choice. The following year is when we plan to start our family. You and your wife will eventually have grandchildren, both boys and girls, to spend time with. So don’t be concerned.”
