“How could you guys not tell us anything when you two just registered as a married couple? Where are the files? Can…. Can we take a look?” Cristelle asked for the files. She looked like she couldn’t wait to prove what she heard in the room was true.
Thea took out those files from her purse again, showing them to Cristelle. She was a bit shy, “We… We got registered yesterday.”
She didn’t mean to let other family members know about this. But she just wanted to do at least one thing for Pop.
Cristelle was thrilled as she grabbed those papers and showed them to her husband, “Linford, you see that? They really are a legal couple now! Cody and Demi are married.”
Fritzi was so excited that she cried again, “Geez… Demi, why didn’t you tell us beforehand? So we can at least prepare you something. So when will you guys hold your wedding?”
Thea wanted to say that she was okay with any day. Cody, however, suddenly said, “We’re probably gonna delay the wedding a bit.”
Grace, Granny, and Cristelle were still looking at those files. After hearing what Cody said, they looked up at the same time, “No.”
Cody sighed, “Trust me. I’m probably the most anxious one to hold the wedding in this room. But Thea still got her dream to chase. We can hold the wedding after she gets pregnant.”
Linford was the first one to ask, “When will you guys have babies then?”
Thea could feel the look everyone was giving her when she dropped her gaze shyly.
Cody didn’t appear to be shy. He held Thea’s hand and smiled, “Probably after she finished the shooting of Heavenfall.”
Mr. Weston was also quite anxious, “And how long is that movie gonna take?”
Cody shrugged, “You probably need to ask Candace about that.”
Candace cleared her throat as she met the old man’s eyes, “Five or ten years.?”
“What?! Five or ten years? It will get more and more dangerous for a woman to have babies when she gets older! I don’t want Thea to suffer during the delivery!” Granny was the first one who objected to this proposal.
Mr. Weston also sighed, “Five years are too long. I don’t even know if I’m still alive at that time.”
“Gosh! Grandpa! What are you talking about?” Thea didn’t enjoy hearing things like this, “It won’t take too long. Besides, getting pregnant is not necessarily impeding shooting. I’m okay with that.”
“Then, I guess we made a deal,” Mr. Weston smiled.
Thea sighed and nodded, knowing it was probably a trap, “Okay.”
Cristelle, Fritzi, and Grace were so happy about this. They went to the kitchen and made a big meal for the three families.
They enjoyed the meal, and Granny suddenly asked Thea to go back to the apartment with her.
Thea said yes. Cody and his parents came along as well.
Granny looked quite grim today. Everyone knew the old woman objected to the idea of Cody and Thea being together at first. They were all a bit worried about what Granny was gonna say.
However, when they went back to the place they lived, Granny went back to her room and took out an exquisitely-made wooden box. She opened it and revealed a pair of silver rings and a silver necklace.
“Your grandpa gave me these rings when he was still alive. I knew they were silver. But I still hope you guys won’t think it’s cheap. I didn’t even give these to your mother when she got married. I didn’t like John at the beginning. And it turned out I’ve never been wrong with that guy.” Granny gave those rings to Cody and Thea. She was smiling warmly. Thea had never seen Granny look at Cody this nicely before.
“Don’t make fun of me,” the old woman said, “These are probably the best things I’ve ever had. And now, I’d like you guys to have them.”
“Granny!” Thea went forward to hug the old woman.
Cody was also deeply touched, “Granny, I swear these are the best gifts I’ve ever received!”
Granny smiled and put those rings on their fingers. Cody knew this was the old woman’s way of saying that they had her blessing.
Thea was crying, “Granny, you are the best.”
Granny was the best. She had treated Thea so well since Thea was just a little girl.
Thea couldn’t help but feel how lucky she was. She had been a happy girl growing up in a foster family. Mom and Granny were the best things that ever happened in her life.
Grace was smiling with tears in her eyes, “Alright, sweetie. Getting married is a great thing. You’ve already cried enough today. Mom, how could you suddenly do this to us? We thought you would never approve of Cody and Thea’s relationship, and now you are just giving the kids your wedding rings. You didn’t even treat me this well when I married that man.”
“Now you’re saying that,” Granny looked up, “If you listened to me, you wouldn’t have to live like this.”
Grace laughed, “Yes. You’re the smartest woman in the whole universe. So, you’re quite happy with the fact that Cody is the man who married your granddaughter?”
Granny sighed, “I also don’t have other options, do I?”
The houseful of people started to laugh.
Cody couldn’t help but think that this was probably what Pop wanted.
The old man had said that he didn’t want people to be sad at his funeral. Cody only wished Pop could come to their wedding.
It is not possible now.
But Cody knew Pop would watch over them from above when the wedding was held.

Cody brought Thea back to his house. Thea argued, saying that she didn’t have her clothes or scripts prepared over there. Cody just told her that he had sent everything she needed to his place.
Thea could only go back with him. When they went back to the mansion, everything was prepared, just as Cody told Thea. Zoe and Lily were not in the house since they had gone back to the Bradley mansion to help Linford and Cristelle with the funeral.
Thea offered to help, but Cristelle turned her down after knowing that Thea still had a shooting the next day.
Cody also planned to go to the site with her. Thea tried to ask him to go back to the Bradley mansion, but Cody was quite stubborn. Thea knew Cody’s idea seldom could be changed, so she just let him do whatever he felt comfortable.
